This was a great book, and I truly enjoyed reading it. It brought back memories of the stories that my mom would tell us about her experiences as a domestic helper. Times are better now than they were for African Americans in the 60's, but there is still room for improvement. Until we can no longer judge a person by the color of their skin but by what is in their heart, this country will never be a place of equality and justice for all.
I'm almost finished with The Help. I really like the character development and the plot twists. And it deals with such an important part of our country's history in a fair, compassionate, and compelling way. I think the language is a little excessive and unnecessary though.
