  • They are on the soundtrack of the latest Aki Kaurismäki film, "Le Havre," and most of the others. Interesting review of "Le Havre" and the music: charissegendron.blogspot.com/2011/12/le-havre-by-aki-kaurismaki.html

  • There are just some things they shouldn't allow on youtube........↑↑♫↑↑

  • RIP Kim Brown

  • Yeah, the sixties are the best! Raw, stylish, groovie. Punk rock was born old.

  • OH! I thought they came from Finland. Now I know better - from Birmingham United Kingdom. It was a great band. I saw them during the 60's in Finland. It was about the same time as my favorite band was active. THE ZETTLERS. Listen to their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". Cool, rough and a lot of feeling from the 60s.

  • One of the best songs evar, thanks Evan "Funk" Davies of WFMU (o:

  • CAN'T find the mp3.

  • @marcinjersey66 i got it from a website

  • @marcinjersey66 actually somone sent it to me

  • No mike for the singer and unplugged electric guitars. But still a blast from the past nonetheless.

  • Unbelievably cool. Someone call the Black Lips you been ripped off 40 years early!

  • Just Great!! Love the organ!

  • a finnish band? I sold the single, 1999.....

  • @tallyman48 They were Britsh band from Birmingham but won popularity in Finland by relentless touring at first to half-empty halls. They got their first single Cadillac to top radio hit and it was also a massive seller. They did four albums 1964-66 and pile of singles.

  • They were also very popular in Germany.

  • Wasn't this originally a very corny tune by Bill Haley? Here it's spiked up with fuzz, attitude and THAT organ (is it a flat five? impressive!) and this way it's perfect!

  • @Bietel

yes, it's a Bill Haley song.

  • this is great. Any of the dancers ever go to Outrigger mod club, Birmingham, England, mid eighties?lol. Superb tune

  • soul

  • who killed sgt pepper?

  • Very cool flat five on the organ... easy to play but hard to get right. Very innovative bass player, he wore it higher than Bill Wyman. Thirteen women, but the budget only covers five!

  • lolz,"Thirteen women, but the budget only covers five! " made me laugh so hard.

  • Cool...very true to the rock'n'roll spirit...nice guitar ..a lot better than this shit ppl listening on the radio and tv nowadays.

  • Bad Ass song!

  • soo bad ass! love it!

  • Great Song

  • Cliched.

  • @Khultan

    Cliched?

    Are you kidding?

    This is in like '66?

    This is early punk!

Alt/Punk bands are rippin' this stuff off in

    '09!

    THATS Cliched.........

  • @dws901 It is NOT punk. Punk is given too much, way too much credit.

  • @dws901

ripping it off in the '80's too

  • that's a funny way to play the farfisa organ...maybe i should play it like him :D

  • Fuckin deaf bastard!!

  • is one of the bands name Dennis Gibson???

  • great !

  • Great classic garage rock number. The fact that they only had 5 women on stage is hilarious.I guess having 13 would have been too crowded.

  • or too expensive for a punk band.....

  • is there a person who named Tom armstrong? (in the band)

  • This version achieves multiple levels of greatness, if only because someone has assumed that the target audience for this song cannot tell the difference between five and thirteen.

  • WOW!!

  • kim (vocalist) is my uncle. I didnt realize there were so many videos on youtube. Makes me so proud! Martyn Brown.

  • Really!? Isn't his real name Michael Richard? I was a core fan of The Renegades in the 60's.

  • Hi Martyn, cool to see your uncle getting the praise - so long overdue. Can you confirm he (and the rest of the band) was originally from Birmingham?

    Best regards!

  • Hi losgrindos. yea so glad to see his videos on here as Id never even seen any before. Yes I can confirm he an indeed the rest of the group were all from Birmingham. :)

  • Ei olis varmaan helppoo olla ainoo mies kolmentoista naisen kaupungissa mut voishan sitä vaikka kokeilla :P

    Hieno kappale.

  • I've found out their cover of 13 wimmen 20 yrs ago, since then never got tired - is one of the best cover/song ever!!!

  • It's meant to be a joke. The whole freakin video is a joke. Thats the point.

  • This drummer has the highest hi hat I have ever seen

  • hahah

  • @mewrth Almost...check out Nat Col and the Kings - "Breakin Out" Clubhouse Rehearsal

  • @NGARIKItv Man... I checked it out. Great fucking stuff! Thanks fer the tip!

  • @mewrth maybe the roof was leaking

  • lol the drummer is funny!

  • I just discovered this song on One Cup of Coffee and A Cigarette and fell in love with it. Thanks for posting this!

  • He kinda reminds me of kurt Cobain

  • i love this but i cannot seem to find an mp3 of it. arrgh.

  • Search for a compilation called "What a Way To Die," on Satan Records. :)

  • How high did this chart in the UK????

  • excellent. i love it.

  • Look it's sixties LINE DANCING!! Great song thanks posting. Fuzzy fuzzy guitar.

  • rofl piano players are always the most expressive.

  • That's great! Did 'The Beat Stones' release anything? and what did you play in them?

  • May I ask, what was the name of your group?

  • hahah i play the same organ as that dude

  • The singer Kim Brown was married in italy,Milan where stay a long.

Hi have a son,I played guitars in one band with him in 90',now he live in finland.

you can search video Kim & the cadillacs band

    on you tube.

Was a very professional singer and acoustic rhitmic guitarist.

  • This is a Bill Haley and the Comets song.

  • i see only 5 women on that video, where are the other 8?

  • LSD my child LSD.

  • i believe the organ is a gibson.Another garage band of the sixties, the sonics, also used a gibson organ.

  • No, a Farfisa Compact combo organ made in Italy. Easy to google and find a picture. Even the Beach Boys used it on some of the Pet Sounds songs. I saw they had one after a sixties Beach Boys concert in Helsinki.

  • wow, they are so fameless, that wikipedia not even tells something bout em o.O

  • Ah but aside from those trivialities

this is just one of the BEST songs!!

Great to actually see a vid.

  • damn, the 60's where so stylish...I was born much to late ;-)

  • perfect 60's dirty guitar!

  • Dream on & go hunt indians.

  • By ze way....you drank too much firewater.

    me see only 5 squaw

  • Dam Why does the singer look like Kurt cobain so much?

    or is that just me?

  • Kinda looks like the singer from Kula Shaker, not Cobain

  • Kurt actually looked pretty 60's except for his clothes.

Not that they really looked alike , but he often reminded me of Keith Relf

  • I like it too

  • Sata kertaa parempi kuin Topin lepsu versio.

  • Kim Brown! He is at the keyboard. His was my heart throb in Finland in the 60's. I never forget these wild guys!

  • Μπράβο Γλόρια

  • do you know the name of the band's player?

  • wow, thanks for putting this video up, such an ace tune.

  • Keyboard player´s last name was and is Gibson (?!) and he played rhythm guitar usually. I remember seeing them way back in 65 or something in Hämeenlinna, Finland. In fact it was the first foreign rock act I saw and they really turned me in this thing what is now called ROCK!! In that we talked about pop or beat...

  • The keyboard guy looks like a long haired Howdy Doody on speed!

  • Wow... they cracked Finland.... died happy, then? Nice tune.

  • they released lots of 45s and LP in Italy and Finland.

  • Some Nice Fuzz. Great 60's garage I can't you can see a video on these guys I thought they only made 1 or 2 singles.

  • Thanks! This is my first viewing of the Renegades. They never came to the States, and I only discovered them a year ago through my friendship with Ian Mallett, the bass player. They did a reunion tour a few years ago, and havee video of it that we will upload eventually.

  • When? I am looking forward to that

  • Unfortunately, my friend Ian Mallett, the bass player, never sent me a copy of the video. He planned to have a techie friend convert it to DVD. As things would go, he died a month ago, and that was never accomplished. If I can get the video I will post it. Perhaps if one of the other guys reads this he will upload a copy. All the other Renegades were at the funeral. Very little mention of this was made in the press.Ian is greatly missed.

  • Too bad about the lost video... hopefully it will show up somewhere. I saw the Renegades in Finland in the 60's and have been a huge fan ever since. Sad to hear about Ian passing... so hard to believe. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends. I nearly lost my husband three weeks ago to a horrible accident. Life can be so very fragile.

  • Is this UK or Finnish video?

  • I think it's one a greatest bastard cover ever made in the music history. I have listening the records thousands times but never see a video. Thanks for that

  • Jeezus Chrysttttttt! Brilliant! Thanks!

  • I c-c-can't fuckin' believe this exists...INSANE!!!

  • Yes, thank you man. It's one of my best ever 60's punk track. In France, Eddy Mitchell did also a very good version at the same period.

  • Fun fact, this was origionally done by Bill Haley and the Comets!! Awesome, essential video!! Thanks!

  • Don't forget the Dinah SHore and Ann-Margrock versions.

  • Right on the money chuckdee121 Got all of Bill's records at home! May I say I like the Bill Haley version better? Although this is a funny cover of the song I think the B.H. version has more spunk and rhytm.

  • fuckin awesome! I love this song!
