I was reunited with my birth mother, in late August of 2009.  I was after finding out that she's been living in the Netherlands for over 30 years. After her telling her husband who is actually from Leiden himself, he encouraged her to search for me. My birth mother is Canadian by birth, and her husband was so excitedly telling his friends he has a stepdaughter in Canada :D I miss Leiden so much.

@MrProcrastinator100. My birth mum and I got on very well, after all :-) She was only 18 years of age when she had me, and her own mum (Abuela) made her give me up. She did say sorry, and she is very happy to know that I went to a good and loving home.

I lived in Leiden for about 4 months...during my study abroad...i enjoyed the Netherlands but will never again go back to live....never experienced racism until i was there especially in Leiden *Beautiful city but nasty attitudes*

I have to say, Ive been to Leiden a few times and never had a problem with rudeness - nor anywhere else in Holland to be honest.

The area where the kids were standing out on the jetty has a fantastic pancake restaurant that does full plate size pancakes - sheer heaven!

I have really travelled the world. At the moment I live in the Far East.

I spend a lot of time in Holland. And the most beautiful place of all is Leiden.
