  • Oh, lighten up.

  • I'm 15 and I've been Vegetarian my whole life. <3

  • happily vegetarian,,(: 2 years almost 3

  • I've been vegetarian since July 2010 and I don't want to not eat marshmallows. Veggie marshmallows for me!

  • What a great thing these two women have done. Gelatin is in so many products people don't consider to have animal flesh, yogurt from Yoplait and Dannon both contain kosher gelatin which is made with either cow skins or the bones and skins of deep water fish sounds yummy don't it.

  • That's why they sell those horrible, misshapen marshmallows at Passover. All but the most "frum" people will eat cheese made with rennet and gelatin, though kolatin ("agar agar") IS just as good AND also vegan...

  • Seventh-Day Adventists are great!

  • How did these people not know that marshmellows contained gelatin from animals? O_o I've known that since 6th grade and I'm omnivorous! My non-vegan and vegan friends knew it, too. This is old news.

  • OK WHY DONT THEY TELL US WHY ITS NOT VEGAN?!?!? I WANNA HEAR THE END!!!

  • @macirockstar3 Most marshmallows have animals hooves in them as a gelling agent...

  • @macirockstar3 beef gelatine!

  • I think its better that we use as much of the animal as we can if we are going to kill it. Anything else is a waste. As the Native Americans practiced, when an animal is killed, as much of it was used as possible to honor its sacrifice.

  • Keep eating the normal marshmallows Veges', coz Gelatinen is good for your ''joints'', ask any Olympic athlete... ''Oh gee, animal products!!.''

    .harden up you lot....

  • Im 12 and been veg since i was 3 (:

  • OMG i saw sweet & sara marshmallows at whole foods!!!!!

  • haha this is hilarious all this work and i could just give one of those vegans a regular marshmallow and they would never know the difference *jk*

  • no they would know the difference because they would throw up :P

  • I have gone to the website of sweet and sara and there is no gelitn in the ingredience. Is that true, that they no longer use geletin? can anyone please let me know..after watcinig this i was under the impression that they cannot be made without the gel for constistancy. so what is the truth?

  • DUH that's what makes it vegan -NO GELATIN

  • No more peeps on Easter? ):

  • Nooo! Im trying to be vegan and marshmallows are one of the few store bought treats I can still eat.

  • I need these! lol

  • Comment removed

  • Try spelling grass correctly first before you try to make a decent comeback.

  • shut up

  • Oh deal with it.

  • marshmallos rule!

  • I've had vegetarian marshmallow cream. It tastes really good, but it's true that it doesn't have the same puffy texture.

  • sweet and sara marshmellows are better than the ones with gelatin!!!!!!!!!!!! lol im eating one right now heheh ;D

  • yesterday at the store i was bored so i read marshmellow ingrediants read it had gelatin..[im a veg]

  • use agar powder

  • This is a very informative video. I don't eat marshmallows or anything with gelatin. If I'm perscribed a medication and it has gelatin capsules I even inform the doc. that I cannot take gel capsuls. I read the ingredients on everything I buy. I grow most of my own food that I consume just to play it safe.

  • Really? I thought marshmallows just aren't vegan.

Vegetarians still can eat some variations of animal products: eggs, milk, etc, so I thought gelatin was part of the exception. The average lenient vegetarian diet allows this, as long as they're not eating flesh.

I need to educate myself more on this subject.

  • U RETARD

  • Thank god for this video!

  • And Stonybrooke Farm Soy yogurt uses DAIRY cultures!

  • Also check the fruit flavored yoghurt before you eat. DANONE silhouette yoghurt uses Gelatine to firm up yoghurt.

  • How about creating Vegetarian Cheese? Coz we love Pizzas. There will be a lot of demand for Veggie Cheese.

  • There already is. Soy and rice cheese...

  • To gavintaaffe, Thank you didn't know about it. Hope we get this variety of cheese in Canada too.

  • Even the most varieties of CHEESE are not vegetarian. Cheese usually has an ingredient RENNET in it. Rennet is an enzyme taken out of a young calf's liver of course by killing it. There are some varieties that do not use Rennet but most traditional european cheese and also most Kraft cheese types have Rennet.

  • oh yes there is ! vegetarian rennet

  • i know, i always have to read labels and my favorite pizza has rennet in it :(

  • I didn't realize it was so hard to be a vegetarian. I figured I could just not eat obvious animal meat, but I guess animals are killed for pretty much all food.

  • ive been vegan for a year, im 13 now :D

  • im 12 and i've beed vegan for 5 years :D

  • wow good job

  • wow, im veg an have been for 2 yrs an im 14 XD

  • high five same here :)

  • @vanilli10005 what does your age have to do with anything?

  • @vanilli10005 im 12 2 but my mom wont buy vegan food 4 me so i have 2 eat meat

  • @PockyWord Its your rights to be able to be vegan tell her!!!

  • @vanilli10005 im 12 and iv been vegetarian for 7 years :D

  • GODDAMN VEGETARIANS!!! jk. i'm a vegetarian :)

  • FUCK! i've been a vegetarian for almost ay ear! I ATE A MARSHMELLOW TODAY! god damnit! FUCKKKKKKKK!

  • Sucks doesn't it? I am a vegetarian, and eating no meat is easy. Gelatin is the hard part..it is hidden in so much, even medical capsules!

  • Yes, it really is easy to not eat meat. I guess I should be more concious of that sort of thing.

  • Yeah, yesterday I had some fudge, and as I was eating it, I though, "I forgot to check the ingredients!" And it had marshmallows in it. I can't believe I forgot.

  • and you have to watch out for certain types of emulsifiers too. some lecithin emulsifiers are extracted from the kidneys

  • If someone wants marshmallows made from egg whites, but not gelatin, that is simple to do. Just make meringue and add sugar or splenda. Bake at about 230 degrees F. for 20 min. They aren't vegan though cause they are made from egg whites, but there is no gelatin in them.

  • good ob keep it up

  • Go Vegan!!

  • Sweet & Sara marshmallows are amazing!

  • My family is vegan - what a challenge finding anything in a traditional store without MEat flavoring or ingredients. Salad dressings the worst - everyone contains egg or milk - Anyway, glad to have found the Veganstore on line and the opening of 2 Vegan healthfood shops in my town.... for health & heart - GO VEGAN!

  • im never eating jello or anything geletain again

  • but they also said that she was selling it over eBay, and she probably only had a small amount of stock. So in turn they had to out bid one another to claim their vegan treats. I definetly loved marshmallows and would love to eat them again...but Id never pay THAT much.

  • they already make vegan marshmellows.

  • They failed cause they all used Apple computers. And the fact that they didn't look into this "Emes" product carefully, using 3rd party products that are "that" sensitive. like holy crap, thats like me running a burger joint and finding joe smoe meat inc and getting them to provide me the meat and having NO questions about it whatsoever. I'm surprised they didnt get sued.

  • $27 per bag of "Vegan" marshmallows? Sounds like Ming Tran was trying to make a quick buck. These Vegans are no different than normal greedy human beings.

  • As a contribution towards better Humanity, I decided to make an educational video on Kosher & Halal (the link doesn't work, just search for Live2Eat2Live and then look for "The Holy Scam - Kosher & Halal").

    I consider Kosher & Halal Anti-Humanity!

  • I'm sitting here looking at a box of Emes that I purchased months ago. It's so sad how lame the company was to lie about the product. Luckily, I never used what I bought and the company is now out of business. If you're looking for vegan marshmallows, vegan sweet isn't bad at all! :)

  • marshmellow lips

  • what it wasent vegan? wtf?

  • No it was made of gelatin and gelatin is made of the ground up crap parts of the animal. Things like bones, skin, brains.

  • Don't forget hooves

  • Indeed hooves too.

Weither you like it or not humans do infact use alot of the animal..even if they get lazy and just mash it up ;P

  • hot soy cocoa =] HAHHAHAAH. i love this

  • Water is vegan you moron.

  • ...wtf? Can't I eat ANYTHING now a days without it having some kind of animal product in it??

  • Only water.

  • Not the flavored water though, because that has sugar in it, and you never know if the sugar was processed through cow bones =)

  • LMAOOO. Good one x]

    Poor lettuce.

  • so some vegetarians have been eating animal bones and skin without knowing it?..........sweet

  • LOL. You're an idiot.

  • how is that sweet cornsnake?

  • Cornsake was blocked long ago. He won't be replying here. Perhaps i should have moderated other postings earlier.

  • eww gelatine comes from skins and bones of animals... i didnt know that. i guess i learned something.

  • Hey peeps. Don't forget to watch PART TWO.

    Watch BOTH parts!

  • vegan marshmellows, what next, vegan chocolate, vegan peanutbutter, how bout vegan water

    what the fuck

  • By default, all of those things are supposed to be vegan.

  • ahhh you see the idiocy of my comment, cuase here all along i thought if anything marshmellows where vegan, whatever. i can still sleep knowing they arent

  • Real marshmallows are indeed vegan. However, the "marshmallows" that companies today get away with selling aren't actually made from the Marsh Mallow plant. They're just air-blown gelatin with confectioner's sugar and some other junk.

  • actually, there is such thing as vegan chocolate. you may not know this, darkphoenix262, but peanut butter and water were vegan to begin with.

  • yes i know that i was joking. i think this vegan stuff is going to far, thats why i siad it the way i did

  • {{Cough cough.}} What was it that Carl Sagan said about the centrality of human conceit? If you had the misfortune of being another species, you probably wouldn't think that refraining from animal products was going too far.

  • how can you take something like that too far?

it's not like they're asking everything to be made vegan, just more vegan options

i don't get how that is a problem?
