Look up Montebello Quebec, Canadian police have used that tactic before. Also if you do not think they are arresting random people than why have over 900 people been arrested and thrown in a temporary jail? Why are most of these people released without charges if they are not random arrests?  You obviously have not been following the G20 protests very close if you think everyone arrested is guilty of something. Several reporters were arrested and released without charges.

A non violent protest intentionally placed in a way that prevents the riot police from completing their job of protecting a point is not in fact non-violent and needs to be dealt with accordingly to allow the police to do their job properly.  In this clip there is no backstory and only 25 seconds of images. You cant tell from the video if this protest was violent, all you see is what is shown. It is silly to judge.

@Davebfd I took this video and leading up to it were a group of guys dressed as dead soldiers walking peacefully down the street, and out of nowhere one of them was snatched up by what appeared to be cops dressed as Black Bloc you can see a few at the end of the video.
