  • I just use a coffee grinder for mine:) Works great!

  • @TheKristinaAnn

Yes, for small amounts I also have used the coffee grinder, but this gets it much finer without any large pieces left for the most part, and you have a larger batch done up ahead of time this way. Whatever your preference, there are several ways! :)

  • Can you tell me why you blanch it? Thank you.

  • @zeepsy

It's just a preference for some recipes, sort of like a preference for using whole wheat or white in some recipes. Cakes, and some breads I like better with blanched.

  • @zeepsy If not blanched, then it becomes Almond Meal, which is alright for some recipes. but for those who want to make baked goods, like bread, muffins, brownies, cookies, cakes, etc. it's best to use blanched. It makes it more softer. With the added combination of coconut flour (when cooking that is) it becomes perfect for the softer baked goods- like breads and brownies <3

Thank you for the video 'lowcarbkitchen'

  • Sure, it's just easier if you use the slivered almonds cuz they're already blanched for you. If you use whole almonds and you want them blanched you either have to blanch them yourself or pay more for blanched whole almonds. It's just easier and more cost effective to buy the slivered almonds. If you don't care if they are blanched, then you can just ground whole almonds. Blanched just work better in some recipes.

  • can i use whole almonds instead of slivered?

  • Could I please have the name of the music you have here? Thanks so much! And thank you for the video!!!

  • @ongalexander It's called "Sleep Away" by Bob Acri. Was in my "Public Music" folder that came with my laptop, so I assume it is free to use without permission.

  • @lowcarbkitchen Thank you for the great info.

  • Thank you very much.

  • After making it and its been in you fridge or freezer, how can you tell if it has gone bad or not? Will it start to mold or have a strange smell? I always worry that after I make something it will go bad and I wont know it.

  • @fraser8402 It would take a long time to go bad in your freezer or frig. But I usually use mine up before it would have any chance of going bad. I'm sure you could keep it up to 6 months or more in the refrigerator and longer in the freezer.

  • Great, thanks so much, looking forward to trying it!

  • How long does it keep for once you put it in the fridge, sorry if you mentioned that, I may have missed it.

    Thanks :)

  • @allofmywords I think it will last for months, but mine never lasts that long so I can't really say. I normally use it up pretty quick. If you aren't going to use it for a while you may want to store it in the freezer just to make sure.

  • I guessed the first step, but would not have thought of then putting it in the blender. Many thanks. I saved $35, had I bought a bag at the store!

  • @Princetonart that's great! I'm glad it was helpful!

  • loved the music aw. i would love to see a grain-free low/no PUFA bread recipe... THanks!

  • @superc I may do that one some day. :) Have you tried "Lois Lang's Almond Bread"? It's really good, and no wheat or grains.

  • great video, thanks!

  • @maha77

Thanks for your feedback! I appreciate it!
