I've screwed around with these for countless hours, past and present, and they make zero sense. I can basically just extend a normal piston T-flip to allow for two blocks; so far so good. But as soon as I shift the torches and wire over somewhere else, one piston is somehow faster than the other. Add delay to it, and the other one is always faster. Some half-tick or something comes out of nowhere, and whether delay is the same or not, one is faster. It drives me nuts. Luckily you're a genius.

I actually just figured out a way to make strip floor lighting. The only problem is, in my design, there must be a block between every glowstone. So its not one continuous strip :/ Is there anyway to make a continuous strip of floor lighting? Also if u could find a way to do strip wall lights that would be cool as well.

ohh this is brilliant, you could bring new life into jumping puzzles, put a couple of those things in the ceiling, create like a revolving redstone current to make them retract and extract at a certain interval!

In SSP the wall light works with a direct button input however when I extend its reach it fails to swap the blocks, I have rebuilt this many times with the exact copy of yours but it still does not work. How can I fix this?

I have a problem with the strip light. It works for a while but then the torch burns out. I tried replacing it but it still doesn't work. Is there a fix for this? I tried rebuilding it over and over but that spot where the torch burned out never works anymore. (SMP)

Correction, not notch. @Jeb_ is the one who did 90% of the work/bug fixes in the last 8 versions or so. Notch hasn't done too much in the way of code, well except for the End in awhile.

All I had to do to make strip lights for any surface (ceiling, floor, walls) just about any length is take the block-switcher circuit from the hidden stairs tutorial and attach the power outputs to a string of pistons. The ceiling setup in this video is much more efficient and compact, but with the block switcher circuit, you could control all four sides with one button and circuit.
