Well sterilizing the scissors doesn't matter since he just dips all the clones straight into the pot of gel! he should have poured a reasonable amount into a pot and changed it for each different plant.

This has nothing to do with "cloning" at all. It's simply taking cuttings from a "mother plant" and rooting those cuttings.

@NikkoKami It's not accurate to say "cloning" if you don't have a Class-A clean room, high-powered microscope, and a few million in lab equipment to extract the DNA from a donor cell, clean out the DNA from a host cell, and insert the extracted donor cell's DNA into the host cell.

If you're not "cloning" you can't just SAY you are...time that people stop trying to repurpose words to "make themselves sound cooler." If it's wrong, it's wrong.

@MrThisukboi sounds like you done alright mate i had afew MAJOR problems my first 1 or 2 grows but thats how you learn you'll never make the same mistake again! lol i end up getting maybe 10 to 12 oz's per plant in a hydro sytem and good solid 3rd generation cuttings. but thats after years of making mistakes and finding out what works best for me.

its all about getting a good cutting from a strain you know produces or buying seeds from a good company.

@ypie76 i agree not for the trauma but if you use scissors it pinches and closes up the end of the stem you want to use. if you use a stanley blade then its a nice clean cut that leaves as much surface area as possible

Does a plant have to be as big and bushy as that to clone for sex? Indica plants are often showing preflowers by two months so there'd be no point in cloning for sex at that stage.

find it online ... google: olivias cloning gel, clonex cloning gel, rootech, or any number of the other cloning gels, powders, or solutions ... IMO gels work best, but as long as you do things correctly all types work whether gel, solution or powder.

Also as a side note: Use a heat mat to create bottom heat: The stem, as it produces the new root system will seek out heat and if it finds it, it will speed things up.

im not sure if i've got a particularly sturdy strain, but i managed to take a cutting and root it directly into earth (humus, mainly) without any rooting gel/powder. its been about two weeks, its starting to do well without the humidity dome.

i doubt i could do that with the "pro" strains like white widow. well, the sturdyness- thats one good point of seeds from brickweed, at least.

cloning/cutting is pretty common gardening method (works for a lot of plants, not just weed). it is bassicaly taking a small part (generally a small developing branch) of a mother plant and making it grow roots and develop into another plant. except this other plant is genetically identical to the mother plant, i.e. a clone.
