  • Looks good when you KNOW HE ISNT GOING TO HURT YOU/ YOU KNOW WHERE THE STRIKE IS COMING FROM/And you have done THAT movement 100s of times:)

  • Awesome, 1:14 overkill!

  • I like the counter attacks, however the actual engagements(prior to them) are leaving the initial defender open for all sorts of "counter, counters", that would nullify his stabbing attacks.

  • My favorte one was at 1:16 finish him with a nut shot. haha

  • It is stupid to keep your enemies alive, this can help you execute your enemy,in seconds.....

    I love this art.

  • I really have no respect for any martial art that trains to go for the nuts. That's just not cool.

  • Although it's been 19 years since I started studying Silat, to this very day, when I see Silat in action like this, I am reminded at how vicious and brutal Silat attacks and counterattacks can be. Other MAs are also violent, but Silat just has so many ways of tearing off ligaments and dislocating joints I could not help but be in awe of my ancestors.

  • 1:07

    Oh Shiii****

Knife to the groin! Oww oww oww.

  • 1.22 is definitely a overkill LOL

  • Brutal. Very nice, beautiful flow.

  • @MrMilo13 actually 30 4 only got neutered

  • Is It legal to teach how to kill o.O ?

  • @TheMetalcrypt You're supposed to use those techniques for self defense not to just kill people.

Also, when you know those techniques you usually avoid fighting.

  • @MrMilo13 34 big black guys resurrected from the dead to like your comment.

  • 1:10-1:15 wtf psycho :D

  • this is racist. slave days are over man stop beatin niggas

  • Ezio Auditore kiss my ass

  • it is good to learn these tech's but when it comes to a knife attack the victim see's nothing , just feels a dull pain then reality kicks in. when 2 ppl square up with knives then a frenzy of survival kicks in and its a BLOODY MESS.

  • @Greenmagneticmoon I do appreciate the invitation. I have trained with very high level Kali and Eskrima world class instructors. So I will agree that if both parties are armed with edged weapons these principals may be more effective. Both are getting cut that I know for sure! but a high level knife fighter should come out on top. I also know this that its not going to look like this it gonna be a scamble, chaotic and both are gonna be bleeding. The blocking of the knife hand will not happen.

  • Well what I've been taught when it comes to knives its that if you've got one and the other guy does too. Someone's gonna get cut. Its not rocket science, its a weapon with a blade with a wrist that can bend.

  • @Greenmagneticmoon It is impossible to say that when profinciency is achieved Silat will destroy CQB. First off CQB is no particular syatem and souds combat principals will still apply regarless of the proficiency level. Spending a lifetime trying to profect a flawed technique will still end with a high failure rate. It is not the profiency that is the problem it is the concept that is poor. Not saying will not work, just less likely then sound concepts with gross motor skills.

  • These moves require a lot of quickness, timing, tons of practice and leave little room for error. They have a low likelihood of sucess in reality because if not done just right you have nothing. Anytime you are trying to control an attackers weapon with one hand you are in trouble. Now that said anything can work and this instructor may be awsome and able to perform some of this a high percent of the time against a real attacker, most can not. The offense with the knife is very good though!

  • @CQB32 observing and experiencing is two different things. there are some knowledge or skills that u get only if u r experiencing it.not just by observing. i dont think that u ever study this martial art, so dont talk like u know everything. no offence here, just some advices :D

    pls dont mind my english.....

  • @gacktz1207 I have trained in most everything out there including with Philipino knife experts. I teach CQB including knife defense to military and police. I have trained under some of the top combat instructors in the world including the developer of the FBI system and Israeli special forces and have completed their rigorious instructor programs, not to mention have used these things in real life in combaivet situations. I do not know everything, but am a subject matter expert by EXPERIENCE.

  • @CQB32 i see. i guess u were right since i havent got any experience of knife combat in real life lol

  • @gacktz1207 Well I would love to see you or anyone try to perform some of these moves under stress live at full speed against a truely determined attacker. Not that you wont have some sucess you would just be likely to fail. In real CQB training we look at failure rates based on proven concepts and putting thing to the test live. This video is a demo planned attacks at slow speed without resistance. This is not close to simulating a real attack. Is good in theory, but reality likely to fail.

  • @CQB32 i dunno but most of silat counter-attacking moves is executed exactly the same time as the attack comes which is makes u think that it is planned well perhaps. of course this a demo video but i think they do it spontaneusly that the attacker didnt know what moves that the other will perform to evade his attack. that's just my opinion anyway. sory for my english again.>_<

  • @gacktz1207 Well the attacker in this video is not presenting a realistic attack as it relates to speed, energy, aggressiveness or determination. There is no real fear by the defender either. I train using military version shock knives which hurt like hell. Under stress and with full aliveness the timing and accuracy it takes to perform the moves in this video are a liability to the defender. We change the minds of advanced martial artist about knife defense in one session with the shock knife.

  • @CQB32 i see.well since u mentioned it i would like to see if there any video that features real situation of knife countering other than demo.could be fun to watch lol

  • @CQB32 Could be it's slowed down for the viewer's benefit. Shot at what's likely fewer than 32 fps, a realistic knife altercation (or any altercation, really) doesn't look like much more than a few blurs.

  • @bflyte Yes they have to perform a demo slower to teach. A real edged weapon attack is so fast that it is unlikely what you see in this video would be an effective defense. The timeing, quickness and accuracy needed are too great. Sound combat proven principals and gross motor skills give an individual the best chance to survive an edged weapon attack.

  • @CQB32 Planar blocks and centerline technique are all that's in use here, what discipline/practice is more effective?

  • @bflyte Blocks and techniques are the problem. Yes looks good choreographed, but reality is chaos and i believe from experience that these have a higher failure rate. What is taught to military and now even policein many cases are very simple movements, control and then tactical violence. You can check out the U.S. Army MACP, Israeli KAPAP, Tony Blauer S.P.E.A.R. system to name a few. These are reality based. We use a combo of all these. If you train live u will see.

  • @bflyte I should add that the video is not showing knife defense as much as knife fighting. Not likely in reality for both parties to fight with a knife. Check out Dog Brothers video and search Shock Knife Training ect. You will see how it goes when guys with good skills face the threat of real injury and severe pain. Then you can see how unlikely it is for the techniques in this video to be an effective solution. We train with Shock Knives so everything is real.

  • @CQB32 See, that's the thing about silat. None of the motions they're doing here (or at least in the realistically taught offshoots) are choreographed. The basics of silat are to get in close and intercept an attack as it moves across centerline, taking control. The "block" in this sense is, in more accurate terms, a lock. It's not "step one, step two, step three, step four", it's "intercept, react", with basic moves enforced by (what should be) hours of rigorous practice.

  • @bflyte (contd.) I'll give you that MCMAP, S.P.E.A.R., etc. is more effective for en masse training, but if you give anything enough practice and sparring/full-contact training, it'll pay off. Silat is just liable to take more time.

  • @bflyte I agree, it may never be a better solution to the attack then the afore mentioned systems, but silat can have great value. It is the years of rigorous training it takes for it to become effective. Now I love traditional martial arts and still train them, but it is for the art portion more so then the martial portion. Please do not get me wrong I have incorporated movements from Silat into my training, but less of a reality based system as a whole IMO them some others.

  • @bflyte I get it. Still the attacker in this video lacks "aliveness" it is half speed and half hearted. So yes a well conditioned person can react in time to intercept. Search videos on here of Shock Knife even when u get Kali or Eskrima guys u see full speed with real threat everything changes. I am not knocking Silat I have studied every art for the most part and gain something from all, but traditional martial arts in many cases are not that well suited for actual combat.

  • tebrikler

  • Though it's nice to have one-step self-defense training, against a 100% committed knife attack with a stemless blow, this is NOT going to happen. Guys like this go up against Dog Brother type full contact stick and trainer knife guys and get pwned. So while this is good, it's not enough. You can do tons of cool moves against a 70-80% pre-arranged attack that fail IRL

  • 0:53-0:57....the best part....Hidup Melayu!!

  • the attacker definatley looks likes over getting owned by the end of the vid

  • Note to self: Do not attack that guy with a knife!!

  • stab me anywhere but the nuts

  • to all the idiots who talk big dont talk do it anytime we can try i promise i will break ur rib cage

  • come on giant black guy, fight back!

  • 1:05 overkill when you absolutely must put down your opponent with extreme prejudice.

  • Ouch

  • this dude is so brutal

  • راحت فيها خصوته ه2 ه2

  • Overkill... Never seemed or felt so good.. XD

  • economy of motion

  • this is the worst knife work ive ever seen in my life! You can see you dont know your ass from your elbow, GOD help you if you ever get attcked in real life!

  • @kogaryuninjitsu well... help us out. please show us your knife work.

  • He stabs the shit out of that guy!!!!!

  • poor guy gets, not only just stabbed in the nuts, but it actually becomes quite the overkill.

  • This reminds me of assassins creed.

  • i would like to see more advanced knife vidoes attack and defense. the guy getting cut up is clearly using it as a weapon. a more advanced knife vid would be awsome. not too many people actually know how to use a knife in the streets so most of the time this would work in actual combat. but for a trained fighter its much more difficult for that quick easy opportunity.

  • I bet he likes to stab the black guy..

  • I love the one at 1:15

  • Killer!!!!!!

  • bulschid fak

  • joder menudo killer

  • I FIGHT LIKE THIS WHEN I AM 5YEARS OLD

  • great execution. but i get to notice the same lineage with lapulapu. particulalry the handblade parts. techs applied to attacks from the left side are the same principles use in sticks, particulalry in the wido systems. u can use the same principles in hand to hand, knives, or even long arms. this is really how lapulapu is done. only the footworks shown are the basics. i believe, its kept for the advance students.

  • for the people out there woh think this is the real deal.. Keep in mind that the attacker is attacking from the same distance over and over again, he isn't throwing any faints, and he isn't trying to counter or fight back. These are okay drills to practice, but in a real life situation anything can hapenand foot workis very important. This dude is all Hands, making him alot less elusive than someone who moves around like a good boxer or kickboxer

  • @Stifledsubmission ur 100% RIGHT

  • @Stifledsubmission these are only some of the techniques.

  • great techniques- silat is awsomely deadly

  • so fake

  • @jai7231032 Did you become trannies after you learn muay thai? i heard they chop of your balls while training... some real bad ass there.

  • @ironicdevil666 no use talking come so your skill i dare anytime

  • @jai7231032 why would i fight with a transsexual boxer?

  • Man, I'd hate to be his 'example'. Painful.....

  • awesome!!!!!

  • @bownessb33 lmao......good one

  • like this style. reminds me of how i trained. fast and furious with no bullshit.

  • on the streets its hard to see someone who knows "playing" with knife..instead they just go 'yaaaarrghhhhh!!!'

  • remember, these only work with shit loads of practice which makes them second nature

  • This is ridiculous. This is not how knife fights happen.

This is a lot like when people used to teach "street lethal karate" until the gracies came along and showed people what a real fight looks like.

  • i feel bad for the other guy

  • dude-you got the nick the knife seal of approval. I'm validating you motherfucker-all good stuff!

  • 0.54 is a nasty one

  • 0:41 isn't that a bit overkill?

  • @GeniusPuffs Silat is what the Japanese would call "Ansatsuken" or Assassin's Fist, which is to say that it's a martial designed with the intention of killing your opponent. Since Silat was designed as a martial art during full scale wars of ancient times, it's not as showy or elegant as say Shao Lin or Tai Chi but it's meant to get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible.

  • at 1:19

is that use f the pressure point on the elbow? or some kind of joint lock?

  • WHAT JEIOUSY IS BLADY FAKE THAT GUY JUST STANDING LIKE A FOOL @ to all the fake who support this stupid if any guy have real guts come n see me and dont use bad words like a gay or lady we ar man be a man

  • @jai7231032 ur gay and a lady.... and lame too.

  • @WhiteKnighT161 hey come and see me i give u one slap u will know who am iiii

  • is fake because the other guy just standing like a tree or shit so is not real u all ever see silat get KO AFTER 1 KICK

  • @jai7231032 its just demo..relax =)

  • I lol'd at 0:41.

He slices his neck open, lays him out on the ground, and follows it up with an apparently unnecessary knee to the face.

  • damn, I'm gonna counter someone and cut off their heads!!!!!

  • god damn i would not wanna get into a knife fight with this dude lol

  • i cant imagine if someone really get stabbeb in the groin area for men =.=

  • @xavYPC I guess is a really painful death by bled

  • that dudes nuts are getting a pounding. awesome videos.

  • I feel thoroughly mortal after watching this.

  • I told you all Asians know karate! LMAO

  • he went a little over board at 1:10 lol

  • @pwninski no shit the dude thinks hes in rural china where people cut off heads, pretty awesome tho

  • Wield a knife like the asian dude does in 2:00 or like he does in 2:12 ???

  • Makes me wonder if it is better to hold a knife with the tip down or up.

  • OMG LITTLE Asian dude owns big black guy 0.0 btw not trying to be racist -.-

  • Is good to see the little one giving a lesson or two to the tall gay, isn't it? :)

  • holland SSBD! see you tomorrow! Do you gents have a helmet like the one in this video?

  • in a knife fight i would use your knife...

  • hey guru maul, i remember there used to be a clip demonstrating the use of improvised weapons including an expanding umbrella, a book, and a wallet. i can't seem to find it anymore. is it still available?

  • i learn silat gayong malaysia : )

  • 0:53 is scary... O.o

  • 1:10 is overkill :P

  • The art is beautiful. These techniques will only work if you have excellent timing and if the opponent is over committed. Thats just being realistic but still valuable and I still have a lot of respect for it.

  • I would think if you where that good, you'd just wound the guy and not kill em. I mean like slash his legs open or something.

  • ROFL 7 Blows to the balls! LMAO

hahahahaha and a couple blows to the ass

  • silat is a big fake of all time

  • jai7231032, I can see jelousy.

  • @coldwatch if u see me u can also see n feel a kick right to ur face

  • @jai7231032 please tell me how is this fake???

  • @jai7231032 bitch, you suck big balls. Go Kill yourself you piece of fucking shit.

  • @55Skate55 u dare come im at tampines i will give u a kick to ur face and u will be ko for sure

  • @55Skate55 u dare come and see me im at tampines i will give u a kick right to ur face

  • @jai7231032 brother,i suggest u try learning it.are u learning any martial arts?

  • @MrKawa24 i learn muay thai for 8 years so it is not about demo is a real fight

  • @jai7231032 but im sure your instructor told u to repect other martial arts than muay thai rite?

  • @MrKawa24 o yes but the real ones not the fake so i dont see anything in silat but i dont mean it is fake but still need to see something proven like to test the power of punch and kick one muay kick is 1172 power kick enough to KO FOR DAYS

SO IN THIS WAY I NEVER SEE SO SILAT MUST BE PROVEN THAN I WILL RESPECT

  • man, this is a training video, its just for you to see the technique on its ideal form.

out in the world, people hit fast, strong and they dont just stop and wait for the reaction when the opponent blocks a blow. whats being showed here works, but you can cut the effectiveness to a 15% of the above.

  • WOW! the best way to give back the Atack with a knife, too fast!

  • @JACB4532 the essential of Silat is to kill ur opponent(s) before they killed u , so .. yeah

  • search silat gayong.

  • sweet

  • does anyone know if this stuff happens in Vancouver B.C.?

  • @citricsystemz I'm Sure Guru Maul would fly there! if he does he best take me with him! :)

  • too bad there are no personal defense schools in my city.... this seems amazing, alot of different techniques to different attack angles..

  • @riveraluciano wheres your city?

  • Argentina, in a providence waaaaaaaay south, called Chubut, in the Patagonia, the city is called Trelew

  • it will work...he has the right timing and skills

  • guaranteed to kill them everytime! ;-)

it's not about the technique it's about the principles and body mechanics.....

  • technique IS principles and body mechanics used in application

  • @unclebraddah uncleBraddah, great to know you understand my comment! liked your acting reel.

  • all good. thx

  • I practice escrima myself, and I enjoy it greatly. but realisticly, like seen in this video we never train with an attacker who struggles agains the counter. so will it work on the streets? don't think so, but still great fun to do

  • don't you think 1:10 is a tad bit excessive ?

  • hahahaha...I think it's funny

  • These techniques work like a charm when you have a slow, dimwit attacker who makes a half-hearted intial strike, then proceeds to stand there motionless as the "victim" runs through the choreography.

  • true

  • *LOL* Between your credentials and his

I wonder how many people in the world are gonna choose you to train them for a knife fight?

  • this is great.clean.actually this works, but nothing doesnt need training

  • good

  • cut out his penis...

    lol...

  • good techniques but they are just useful against a concentrated single attack like those showed, so they are not so real. In reality, knife attacks are frenetic, fast, and uncontrolled. Pretty much chaotic to try to get out some pre-determined technique. In fact, Few pre-determined stuff will work in reality.

  • it is easier to counterattack an attack that more chaotic and uncontrollable..

  • i dont think so. If chaos were easy to control, this world woulnd´t be the same. Chaos is unpredictable, so its no easy to control a chaotic attack. Defense techniques should be direct actions. Spontaneous answers to spontaneous attacks. I am talking about reality, no about a ring or cage or tatami or whatever like that.

  • see.. i am talking about the martial art above.. if u realize, there are moves in silat that made to counter chaotic attack. some expert, they just need to watch the position of the attacker and timing well ..the defense action can be changed along with the attacker movement and sometimes it happen spontaneously. the rest. i agree with u.

    dont mind my english..

  • true eh, unless your a... seem to be as good as this instructor, you will be one of the billions who wont have much more chance than the rest eh lol. it seems to not be so much *poke at him and stand helplessly as they work around you trying to get you into a good position* and more run head on into you rugby style stabbing hacking and slashing in all directions faster than you can possibly percieve.

its a scarey thought, but id rather get attacked by a knife and have my own knife with me lol

  • I dont know if i am as good as anybody. I am just trying to analize from my knowledge and perspective, those techniques. I have been ilvolved in knife fight. I have my own experience and from that, I have realized so much about what a knife defense should be, and actually i just trust on Systema concepts.

  • In a knife fight I would use a spetsnaz ballistic knife :D

  • good way to counter-slaughter a cow if it attacks you.

  • Have you got any techniques like pisau makan tuan?

  • this was funny to watch:)

  • master chief helmet.....

  • it looked like the guy on the right was getting tired

  • Must Find a Teacter....

  • This is scary.. this is brutal stuff. Very cool.

  • I think I like Ninjutus better. More Enemy Hand (Sorry for the Spelling and worng word)

  • crazy! enemy only attack one, you attack many times. In street fight, this would not be happen lol.

  • It looks logical to me, so what do you want? Enemy attack you many times and you only attack once? This is not a kung fu movie. If you want to fight fair go join taekwondo.

  • its a kata, its purspose is too learn to execute the assault correctly.

as you see its a counter.

uke attacks tori counters and finishes it off.

  • Silat is aimed mostly towards street and battlefield combat hence its more geared towards kills instead of being an art. Remeber that Tae Kwon Do isnt just self defence, its an actualy sport with a point system, u want to get hits on your opponent in those, not kills/knock-outs

  • No, I mean in real fight, enemy will not just attack you one then just wait or freeze, they will attack you as fast as they can,

  • Excellent!

  • are there any videos avaiblable with brassknuckle techniques? similar to this one.

  • There's one where he shows double knucks briefly along with some other weapons, etc.

Note the techniques shown in this vid pertain mostly to dagger/double edged blade. He's cutting with both edges, for the most part..

  • nice..no feeln n jst kill".

  • yeah you can also tell the judge those exact words when your on trial too pale...play it safe guys and just use armbars or something else killin will get you locked up most likely

  • there's a saying when in martial arts when it comes to self preservation...I would rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6.

  • Man i just dig the spot he chooses to stab/slash... the joints, tendons... Brutal!
