OperationNOBO. How do you know this is not a wetland? Have you reviewed the NWI maps, aerial photography and soil survey maps of the property? It's a fair question and nobody here seems to take this into account when they say "There are no wetlands here".
This could have all been avoided if they followed the simple procedure of having a wetland delineation performed and certified by their local administrator of the Wetland Conservation Act (Likely the County) and either avoided or offset the impacts by purchasing wetland credits. Had they done this, they would be enjoying their wonderful lake home right now insted of becomming bitter media tools for conservatives to trumpet their anti-government agenda.

The lot is part of a developed sub-division. The utilities were already in, permits were issued. There is NO HYDROLOGIC CONNECTION between the property and the lake. IT ISN'T A WETLAND and the EPA is broadening their definition of "wetlands" simply to suppress and control people who don't have the means to fight back. Ironic that the same people who pay these jokers are the ones getting bit. You know what happens to a dog that bites the hand who feeds it.

I owe lands abutting a river in Ontario Canada,since 1981, the township has tried every means to acquire the lands--can't fence it,can't build anything, can't farm it and the assessed values keep creeping up and up. In this instance, the people have recorded their private property and thereby converted it into real property. They have agreed to be tenants upon this land that is now owned by the state and they have further agreed to follow the state's rules. I don't agree w/ this, it's just the way it is.

If that means stopping you from adding a new addition to your mansion in the middle of nowhere to protect a natural habitat that can't protect itself, so be it. It's a myth that we own property in the US. In 1871 the US became a corporation and they own it all....including us. If you don't believe me, try hunting on your property when it isn't hunting season.
Try not paying rent (property taxes) and see how fast they throw you off their property. They sell THEIR property then and keep ALL the money. They don't ever pay the tax and give you back the rest. That's how you know it's really their property. BTW, you have no mineral rights either....

in my town there is 2 "planed developments" that were approved in the 1980s
they are still building houses in them 30 years later,
there is a new code that all homes must now have 5 acres of land????
If you buy a plot can they refuse a permit even if the plots are grandfathered,
the structures are not and it says in the code "you can not add to an existing violation"?????
can they stop pools and sheds from being added??????

@stonewall97 These laws are, unfortunately, not against the constitution. You are so free in this country that you can give up your rights. Nearly everyone has exchanged their rights for privileges. In this instance, the people have recorded their private property and thereby converted it into real property. They have agreed to be tenants upon this land that is now owned by the state and they have further agreed to follow the state's rules. I don't agree w/ this, it's just the way it is.

Just a thought, can't you check with the EPA before purchasing the land, if they say the land is ok to purchase then surely they can not come back later and say it is wetland...or can they?. Seems to me its time for Americans to stand up and say enough is enough, you are getting shafted from all sides, and the American dream is quickly turning into a nightmare...its time to take your country back before its to late

The EPA is part of the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government is by legal definition a Foreign Corporation with respect to a state.
Change your citizenship status from U.S. Citizen to national...then take them to court and have them show proof how they have jurisdiction over you.

The EPA is doing what it is supposed to do: protecting the environment. If that means stopping you from adding a new addition to your mansion in the middle of nowhere to protect a natural habitat that can't protect itself, so be it. Build somewhere else or save an endangered species, your choice. Either way, it's not the end of the world and stop blaming Obama for all your problems, he's not the reason you're a bunch of undereducated dolts, no matter what Faux News tells you.

This video is just another example of how right-wingnuts feel entitled to do whatever they please. Ron Paul said that the government shouldn't be allowed to do anything that a citizen can't do and I agree there is a fairness issue here. But imagine what our country would look like if We the People had not agreed to preserve it from the destruction that comes from greed. God didn't subjugate nature to men, men are part of nature and until we learn this the EPA will be a necessary evil.

@0:38 "were filling in wetlands without a permit.." a permit is permission.. ya notice the gov't can fill in wetlands to detour water, to build bridges, buildings and basically can fill in wetlands to their hearts content for any reason they deem fit, you YOU CAN'T.. you can't tell us how to conserve and care for our OWN property, we know how..if you can't see my house from the corner office or the Gov's Mansion then mind your own business.. was this the same EPA that said safe air on 9/11..?

This has been going on for decades in Alaska. The EPA has been trying (and succeeding) in taking land from people, whomever they see fit, no matter what their excuse is. They have been getting away for it way too long. It all comes down to the environmentalists.

I sure hope they don't come near MY house. I'm at the base of the escarpment 200 feet from the Erie Barge Canal. But - the house has been here for 200 years so I don't think they'd bother with it.

Way to screw the little guy once again. It's too bad they aren't "important people" who work for someone else who is "important". Maybe they should just claim their house is actually a subsidiary factory of a multinational corporation and will be used as a way to pollute the area and make all the other residents sick/move away. They probably would have been given land to build and a grant... tax free!!! And kudos to the people who mentioned Agenda 21. More people need to know about it.

It's a myth that we own property in the US. In 1871 the US became a corporation and they own it all....including us. If you don't believe me, try hunting on your property when it isn't hunting season.
Try not paying rent (property taxes) and see how fast they throw you off their property. They sell THEIR property then and keep ALL the money. They don't ever pay the tax and give you back the rest. That's how you know it's really their property. BTW, you have no mineral rights either....

What country before ever existed a century & a half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?
