The heat between Melanie NN Philip is stronger the His and Chloes ever were. You can tell he loves Melanie more than he ever loved anyone else.

... I think Stephanie is just throwing that letter in her face because she is JEALOUS of what Philip and Melanie have because she knows Philip never loved her like he loves Melanie!! She also know Nathan will never love her like he loves Melanie either. And dont even get me started on Parker. The thought of Melanie even thinking about taking Parker

@karrie2820 I know our conversation yesterday has me looking at early Philip and Stephanie...you made an interesting point about Stephanie sort of stepping in and taking Philip away from Melanie when she saw Philip was interested. So now I rewatching. And I love this scene in the kitchen so much...

@slyn11 Me too, you really feel Phillip's angst and insecurity about Nathan which leads him to do the unthinkable......He's been burned soooo many times, ironically he's known as the one to use people but really has been used more than he has used.

@karrie2820 I think most of what Philip does and for what he has earned his reputation is all like a facade...a way for him to save face. He is really pretty sensitive...that big heart he has...always broken. So he does stuff to try to protect himself and act like he doesn't care. I like that Melanie can always see that things bother him though. Which is why her verbal attacks on him lately are so brutal. She knows exactly the spots to hit to hurt him most.

@slyn11 I know I just wish they'd give him more lines in the scenes, it's like the writers don't wanna let certain characters defend themselves, at least not yet.......can't wait to see what's coming next thoug, I know Steph and Mel get into it, I hope she doesn't lose the baby.

@karrie2820 There are many anvils about that baby... But yeah I too wish Philip wasn't being so good about it and taking the hits...I would love for him to fight back some. But I guess he knows what a mess he made of things and there is really nothing to say, since she is not trying to hear it. I also think there is a reason he is not allowed to defend himself and why Chloe will finally be giving up on Daniel soon.

@slyn11 I think they want to give the Phloe's something - these writers love to have as many people involved and fanbases against one another......I think that sometimes this hurts the storylines, I miss a real triangle, I wanna see Phillip breaking down to Melanie and declaring his love, begging for her forgiveness, but I don't want him to seem clingy desperate, chessy - just totally in love with her and can't live without her......you know all that romance novel kinda stuff...LOL

They wrote him so head over heels. yeah they have to do the phloe thing so I get the transition. Have you noticed they love a fanbase war, but when u really breakdown the story they are telling whatever they want...they had carbo vs bope all yr...but it was always bope.

@slyn11 I think Melanie knows he loves her, but if you think about it at first he kept saying they where made for each other, no one else understands them, they get each other & accept each other.....So in the beginning Melanie would/should have had doubts about him changing gears so fast from Steph to her, & this may also catalyst her insecurities on all that. Phillip needs to find a way to get past the hurt he's caused her......

@karrie2820 Contiuned - the fanbase war I hate because it just makes everyone not enjoy the show, I'm more of a character person, if they have chemistry I'm good with the couple Barly versus Bope, I never got really invested in either because I like both Carly and Hope, so for me it's a coin toss.....Honestly I think Hope shuold let Bo go, after what he did with Carly moving into the house and bed. But that's the woman in me speaking not the viewer....LOL

@karrie2820 I am a character person too. On Days for me it is Philip...I have watched him go thru it all...even a horrid recast LOL. I always tell people the fact that I love the character of Philip is why I love Melanie for him. Watching it makes me feel like he finally found his one. If that makes sense.

@slyn11 I stopped watching for a few years so I missed Phloe in the beginning, going back and watching here on youtube made me a major Phloe fan, but when Danloe came out of nowhere I was hooked, I miss the heat they shared in the beginning wish they get that back, I also adored JKJ as much as NB so was glad when Melanie came into play and they clicked so well, I really don't think the writers where expecting that and Phelanie became my latest obsession. BTW glad I missed out on the recast.LOL

@karrie2820 The way Phloe have been written over the years...I think Danloe and Phelanie have been written as stronger loves for them both. I mean it is a crap shoot where things will go, but they definitely have made it hard for Phloe to be a main love since they gave them Parker. The baby bonds them for life but also messes them up as a pairing as per soap 101. I personally think Parker not being Daniel's bio child is a blessing for Danloe.

@slyn11 Yes I agree I think Phloe where great as kids, and I also adored them before the Morgan mess and was really rooting for them but Phillip screwed that up. As much as I love JKJ I didn't like the way he was written until Melanie came into play, it's amazing how chemistry with actors really can make the difference. I was really hoping that Carly used Melanie's DNA at first so it would look negative then come out as positive late using Dan's....

@slyn11 See with me on that one again bad writing, they keep doing that to Chloe, she did it with Lucas because she was upset and needed comfort......I hated that they chose Lucas and thought the pairing was horrible of Chloe and Lucas...IMO they went that route to get BD away from Ejami but also to do their web thing with bringing Chloe into the Nicole/EJ/Sami/Lucas/Chloe/Phi­llip/Morgan etc etc etc......gotta make sure they have enough players - STUPID STUPID STUPID

@karrie2820 Maybe it was bad writing but the show has used that to create a pattern for Phloe....timing is off ..not quite it for each other perhaps but there's a reason why Chloe keeps choosing other men. Like I was getting at on my comments the other day...Chloe loves Philip, they're best friends and she is attracted...but she is not in awe of Philip how she is with Daniel. For that great love you need to think the man is the greatest thing. Sort of how Melanie saw Philip until recently.

@slyn11 Exactly - I agree Phloe's time has past now, they've both moved on into other relationship's that where written as true love, so I agree there's no going back.......Comically as a ex-Phloe I'm glad it's done with, I really enjoy them better as friends (but will admit Phloe had great chem as well as she does with Daniel) funny the only person they've paired her with that I saw none was Lucas, but he had it off the charts with Sami......LOL funny how that works

@karrie2820 I agree her chemistry with Lucas was not as strong as it was w/ Philip or Daniel. The other thing for me w/ Philip is that he can be so intense..he has scared every woman he has been with except Melanie. While phloe have great chem u know for sexy stuff, for funny stuff, as friends...I have always thought their chem during angsty intense scenes was not working - actually w/ all his other women. I think Melanie is the first I have seen who does well in those types of scenes w/ him.

@slyn11 Totally agree that was one of the things that to me pulled me into Phelanie, when he gets so intense she pulls him out of it and it works for them as a couple (remember the pier scene with them talking about Kate marrying Stefano), and when she's hurting you can almost feel his pain that he wants to make it all better for her......Like you've stated before they've been written as soulmates, it's hard to fathom him ever loving anyone the way he loves her, same for Melanie.

Oh and I loved the scenes before that when Philip goes to Kate and tries to get her not to marry Stefano. I just love Kate and Philip scenes.. @karrie2820 It's just too bad that Melanie didn't have the same feelings for Philip, which is why I think he ran to Chloe for comfort. Even w/o the "goodbye"kiss -He had to feel that she wasn't completely committed to him. Chloe and Philip are alot alike, which is why they probably are best as friends (although they do have some Great chemistry). When hurt they clam up, drink and seek out someone to be with and make them feel better. It's just Philip has better parental support then Chloe.

@francis2fly Melanie absolutely had the same feelings for Philip. The whole point of the story is that Philip's Achilles heel is that he is always second choice. He thought he had finally got it right with Melanie only to find out about the letter. The letter played on all his insecurities and made him WRONGLY believe that she wanted Nathan and not him....which is why he ran to Chloe. Of course afterwards he found out his mistake. Melanie did pick him. But the damage was done.

@slyn11 I see your point, but I don't agree that Philip assumed wrongly about Nathan. And now after the big fallout, Melanie has admitted to Brady and even some to Dario that she was pushing things to work with her and Philip, but that it wasn't as good a fit as she wished. He represented money and security for her. I think Philip's gut was right and Mel was not as commited to the relationship as Philip was. Mel still has growing up to do.

@francis2fly The new stuff about Phelanie AFTER Philip left doesn't count. That is the show trying to propel Melanie into a new storyline with a new love interest. It is the soap way at times to disregard the past to start the new. If Philip were back and the show were playing around with Phelanie again - then all this stuff about a bad fit (which is bogus and against all they wrote since 2008) would be out the window. The point of the story was that Melanie chose Philip over Nathan repeatedly

@slyn11 Continued: I think if they made Melanie in the end and Allamain, related to Vivian, and even brought Lawrence back it would have so much storyline potential with Phelanie and the vets.....think about it. Melanie with Lawrence and Vivian (they play awesome together) and Phillip with Kate and Victor, I mean soap gold on this one and then having Phelanie trying to be together with all the wacko's from both sides PRICELESS

I think she feared deep down something like this would happen. And the irony is, because Melanie had been so sure about them being right for each other in the beginning, Philip believed it completely and was blindsided by the letter. He thought he got it right for once. And then his insecurities led him to Chloe

@slyn11 Very well stated and I can so feel both Philip and Melanie in what you said.....that's what I hope the writers can convey to the audience as this unfolds.......Bravo and I really enjoy these discussions they can be so enlightening, seeing things as others do and getting things that other viewers may not is half the fun of watching a soap.
