Yes, Stalin killed a lot of people too. In fact, Stalin killed more people than hitler, but in a longer span of time and in less evil ways. Hitler put mainly Jews and political opponents into concentration camps, whose methods of murder were just plain horrid. When peasants and others refused to give up their land to communism, Stalin just sent in the army and shot everyone instead of burning, gassing, etc.

Conclusion: The Soviets were slightly less evil than the Nazis.

@Blasphemisaurusaoe3 Stalin starved Ukraine. It was called Holodomor 1932 - 1933. Stalin starved over 8 Million people to death in 2 years. Stalin executed a million of his own officers corps because he was paranoid. Another 20 Million died in fighting. The only difference between Hitler and Stalin,...Stalin wanted to own the means of production. Hitler was satisfied with private ownership as long as they were good little Nazi's. They were both evil in ways most people don't even know.

Yeah, they were both crappy, evil leaders. What I'm interested in is the individual experience of pilots on both sides. Frankly, playing as either the ruskies or krauts puts me to shame, I would like an exciting and badass American or British campaign.

@Blasphemisaurusaoe3 I know what you mean,...its more about the flying than anything else, not the politics. The Germans had some great planes, The Russians had some good ones too. I love the stuff the Japanese put in the air,...but if I was a pilot in WW2 it would depend on the mission. Air-to-air P-51,...air to ground, P-47,...Night Mission P-61,...just depends on what you are going after.

@F3D2Skynight2 I intensly dislike many of the german planes due to their lack of manueverability and in some cases, speed. The 109 is decent in manuevering, has a BEAUTIFUL climb rate, yet is lacking in speed, plus it is very engine-vulnerable and not very tough. The Focke-wulfs are fast, have great firepower, are decently tough, but if you get hit in the right spot, you're finished. They're rather lacking in manueverability as well, and were no match for some late British and American planes.

@Blasphemisaurusaoe3 The Bf-109 was nearly obsolete at the outbreak of the war. Its great strength came from the fact that all other planes it was pitted against, were even more obsolete at the time. Its cockpit was cramped its landing gear was narrow. In the hands of a great pilot, the -109 was deadly. The later Spitfires and Mustangs were just much better aircraft. I got to see an FW-190 this year at Reno. Not 100% original, but it was real enough and it flew.

Plus the top German aces got most of their kills in the opening months of the eastern front. Many soviet pilots were equipped with obsolete aircraft, were poorly trained, therefore they made for easy prey.

well, it was meant to take Africa first of course. Then use Africa as a base to send an invasion to Sicily, then take Italy itself, and finally, make a breakthrough to Europe and win the war. But since the campaign was taking to long, the Original American plan in 1942 was put to action. We invaded Normandy. The Reason we didnt do this was because the Brits convinced us there would be to many casualties.Then Operation Torch ensued

only under Open GL you get " perfect water ". for the rest you need to change your conf.ini. google for " Conf.ini-SturmoWiki ". there is everything illustrated.

got to conf.ini, scroll down to the bottom and change " water " to 3 ( for Nvidia ) or 2 ( for ATI ). in game grafic on Open-GL and grafic options everything on high ( very high ) and landscape on perfect...ready.perfect water works only under Open-GL and not DirectX.

Only thing that sucks about this game is it lack of ground objects(Bunkers trenches Infantry pill boxes ext.) too make the player feel that there is achally a battle being raged on the ground.

CFS3 made the ground war feel real because all along the front lines there would be pill boxes tanks artillery guns ammunition stores every where it made the game more substantial.

Thats all i think needs to be done.

However Il2 does do have many features that make ground pounding better that in CFS3 such as time delay fuses on rockets and bombs, bombing bridges in il2 has an effect on road and rail traffic, gun convergence can be adjusted(handy when strafing airfields)and pillboxes, gun emplacements,etc are place strategically, not randomly as in CFS3.

CFS3's front lines i proffer because they where occupied by The army's, In IL-2 i find that that the front lines are usually completely bare.

And as far as i know theres no way to make the campaign simulator add more objects to spice things up make it look like theres fighting on the ground.

In the Il2 full mission builder people have made large ground armies. One thing about CFS3 that bugs me is how small factories, refineries, and rail yards are. Like in WW2, in Il2, you need a large attack force to destroy the factory not 2 1,000lbs bombs dropped from one P-47 as in CFS3 and another thing that annoyed me in CFS3 is that it doesn't matter if you destroy bridges road and rail traffic can still cross it.

It's from the game IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 which is the latest edition of a WWII air combat game. Not all of the games missions takes place in 1946 and not all of them take place on the Eastern Front. The original game featured the Sturmovik and the Eastern front but has since added the other theatres. The latest add-on add's aircraft either never made off the drawing board or in the immediate post war era (i.e. Mig 9).
