@ChroledHard lol, u mad bc u paid 5 times more for your ipad? not everyone need all those apps from apple, some people just want to use the internet and use it for email.
im not raising any many, i dont have a cause, but if you can just go check out my first video about starvation in our world,
As a bully victim i want to understand other peoples needs and what i can do to help them, im not asking for much but i just need support, if you guys want me to tell u my story i am happy too just live your life!
@OzDJ Thanks, so they didn't actually have the fire-sale yet, but said it was sold out by counting the current people inside the store waiting for one?
@LightDontShine The sale was announced in various media outlets at around 1.00pm on 22Aug11. People started arriving at stores shortly thereafter. As soon as the store found out (~1.15pm) about the sale it they just started selling at the reduced price - not waiting for the official 2pm kick-off. Hope that clarifies.
you def no when a store gets so many calls about it when u call bestbuy and the guy says "hello, my name is james we are out of hp touchpads, how may i help you?"
@SuGxNati0n Hehehe... the store seen here (Harvey Norman, Martin Place - Sydney, Australia) actually gave up answering their phones in the middle of it all. I watched who I suspect was the duty manager instruct his team to "...just leave 'em [the phones] and keep an eye on the customers...'. Hehehe
Hold on, I don't care much for the Touch Pad and all. But, according to the description, it seems like the security guard lied that the touch pad was sold out to turn people around and leave?? Since it was set 5 minutes BEFORE the fire-sale. Just trying to understand the situation here.
@LightDontShine Hey ya! They kicked-off sales at the Martin Place store at ~1.15pm. I arrived at 1.25pm. By 1.50pm the queue had looped back on itself and was out the door. HN staff did a count-back of people and worked out who would wouldn't get one based on stock levels. Cut-off point was identifed - people asked to leave - additional folks arriving were turned away. Hope that clarifies things.
@ronpack In fairness to Harvey Norman Martin Place management, I'm told that they found out (from head office) about the fire-sale at ~1.10pm, which is AFTER most customers did. There was little time to prepare for the onslaught of people and they really did do their best to maintain order (and safety) in a challenging situation. Asking the security guard to make a quick (repeated) announcement - while NOT the most elegant solution to stemming demand - was quick and effective IMHO.
It would have been awesome if a riot started.....

@technolust1 Every now and then it has its benefits. That said, it's the busiest I have EVER seen that particular HN store ;-)

I've been in a similar position. It sucks because people just don't fucking listen to what you have to say and rush in. Heck, they can't even read.

LOL can you imagine saying "touchpad sold out" all day long? That would suck... They should've just put up a big sign outside.
