If you take a Digital Media class, you'll learn that "animation" really refers to any movement within a video, be it via pictures, text, or graphics. And... what makes this a music video is the fact that it focuses on the music. Thus, with these captions taking each other's places, and the song being recorded, this video IS an AMV.

If some of the jokes may have gone over your head

1) The basic premise of the song is that he's a well-educated man, but entirely inept in military matters. He SUCKS at his job.

2) A fugue has more than one vocal part. He can't hum it. No one can.

3) "That infernal nonsense Pinafore" was another play by G&S. It offended the royal family, so this play ends with the pirates surrendering completely out of the blue at the mention of the Queen.

4) Caractacus wore nothing but a loincloth.
