The voice acting in Max Payne 2 for Max was a lot better. Max's delivery here is really rushed and somehow, too lifeless (thought that's the character's personality).
1:10 the first blow-job in video-game history hahahaha, I didn't notice what she was doing until I had gotten older, I was 11 when I first watched my older brother play the shit out of this game
I just love how you can read this like a book. You wouldn't even need to play to understand the depth and the suffering Max Payne felt in his descent to madness.
That happens to me once I had this dream when I was a cop going on vacation which it turns out worst at the start then suddenly the telephone was beating like it was ringing.....
Once I picked up the phone then it turned out creepy like it's serious this time....
Max' dialog is just.....excellent. But one thing to notice is all of his metaphorical speech is entirely "internal". Notice how when he speaks to people he doesn't use his slick wordplay or metaphor. He only uses it when telling his story. This shows that Max has a very deep and "metaphorical" outlook on life itself. Hes a deep person, so when telling the story he speaks from his heart, and expresses everything he experienced from his "point of view". Through the eyes of metaphor and symbolism.
I'm was completely impressed on how you identified Max Payne's use of speech. I would like to know more and would also like to know what did you mean his metaphortical speech being entirely " internal''. their what you just stated was awsome and Iwould like to understand it completely.
Well it means just that, his use of similes and metaphor are told "internally" and not externally. Meaning he doesn't use it in "normal speech". You never see him use it when conversing with another character in the game. He only speaks that way when telling the story. Mainly because this perception of the events are different than the other characters. So when he recalls the events, he tells the story the way he "saw" it. And Max sees things on a much deeper level than other people.
simply put. You wouldn't see Max sitting there talking to someone with all that fancy metaphor. If you notice, sometimes his internal speech(the stuff he says in his head)contradicts what he actually says to people he talks to(alot in Max Payne 2 when he spoke of Mona). When he spoke to Mona, he had a very hard demeanor with her, and acted distant and as if she didn't concern him. But when he told the story, he spoke heavenly of her(I recall him refering to her as an angel at one point)
He's comin'! I can hear him? Ready? Gimme the guns, an point at the door. Ok, this is it, any moment now Payne's gonna bust through that door with murder in his eyes, its either him or us... I for one am gonna pump the SOB so full of lead they'll need a forklift to carry the coffin to the grave. *SHOOT DODGE* Ahhhhhhhhh!
"There was no glory in this. I hadn't asked for this crap. Trouble had come to me, in big dark swarms. The good and the just, they were like gold dust in this city. I had no illusions. I was not one of them. I was no hero. Just me and the gun, and the crook. My options had decreased to a singular course." - so great
