  • I love the snow I ride with my 80 cr in the snow :)

  • i have a drz400 (heavy bike) with kenda k270... CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF I WILL BE ABLE TO RIDE IN THE SNOW THIS WINTER?

  • @bandguy360 I rode my whole life in the snow with bikes just as heavy, and with half worn tires, that being said I never really had fun doing it till I started using studded tires

  • man when it snowed like this in G.A i had it in 5th with a roaster tail 6 feet high XD

  • i love riding dirtbikes in tha snow

  • 3:10 your finger is in the way.

  • do you have to have spikes?

  • @davison1021

No, I rode for years without them, but it wasn't fun.

If you really want to be able to ride the trails in deep snow and have fun, you cant beat them.

For frozen ground and up to 2 inches of snow we studded our own tires using car tire studs, and a stud gun, they work great.

  • @dirtrider6 thank you

  • @dirtrider6 Is it very hard to drive without spikes? I'm hoping to do a bit of driving in the snow this year but I think the cops would go mad if I drove around with spikes.

  • @fionnoc You can get what we called frozen ground tires, we would stud our own, but you can buy them, they are car studs put into the tire, and only the carbide tip sticks out just like a studded winter car tire, they are good in the woods up to 2-3 inches of snow or frozen ground.

  • It is what ski doos are for

  • Awesome. I really want to go riding in the snow, but my dad refuses to bring me to the trail :( It looks a heck of a lot fun though.

  • Why don't you have a 2stroke?????????

  • @happycritic123

What can I tell you, this was before I bought mt 300 XCw two stroke.

The Yamaha WR400 was a fantastic snow bike, the tractor traction was incredible.

  • @happycritic123 if he lives in a snowy area the last thing he wants is a bike that demands attention and slow starts where he has to warm it up in this climate. also he wants smooth power delivery on this terrain.

  • Whats the yamaha and honda?

  • Yo r u near honesdale.... Or forest city?

  • @brycepapy

Maybe a hour to a hour and a half away

  • do you have studds?

  • @SuperCartman1000

You bet, Trelliborgs are the only thing that would keep you going, they work great in deep snow.

  • hey where you riding it seems close to the mt. like if you germans ville or something

  • @quadkindaguy

    No, were in Pennsylvania

  • @dirtrider6 ya germansville is in pa. it looks like to me your on the other side of the mt. like in palmerton or sometthing

  • @quadkindaguy

Sorry, I had no idea Germansville was in PA?

    Were in N.E. PA.

  • I have an xt125x yamaha with road tyres will be riding on the icy roads, stick to low profile tyres or get studded? long way on proper roads - few hills and a lot off ofr oad parts or just get a car for the winter? XD

  • @xXMC023Xx I have seen posts of people riding dual sport tires with studs installed on the road, looks pretty dangerous to me!

  • are your tires studded?

  • .17 seconds into the video I have a closeup shot, yes they are studded, trelliborg long studs, they are awesome!

  • is steven O'neil with you cuz he is my cousin

  • this is my first year riding my cr125 in the snow im getting pretty good with the dritfting i notice you have to keep the front end straight and burp the trottle to drift also im useing a bald back tire

  • whats the name of the song and is it bad for the bike to ride in snow

  • Ball Room Blitz by The Sweet, they played last year for a local Radio Stations Birthdaybash.

And yes the bike is working much harder than usual, but if you jet for it you should be fine.

  • We just had 2 four wheelers and me and my friend shawn to turns riding on my two stroke and my four stroke. Riding in the snow and mud is quite challenging, but it is so fun!!!!!

  • It sure is fun, and as you said, quite a challenge!

  • can you use normal tires on snow??

  • I did for years, but once I tried studded tires there is no comparison, you can actually ride the trails and have fun with them, non studded you just struggle and get stuck all day.

  • thx dirtrider6

  • Great vid. Great music. Thanks for sharing it all. PS- I love dirt bikes--they're awesome.

  • Thanks man, glad you liked it.

  • how is snow riding???? Fun?

  • Have you ever tried it with STUDS?

  • never done it at all i just got my bike maybe 2 or 3 months ago. And i live in maryland not much snow but i need someones opinon on it cuz when it does snow i wanna try it and i need some tips

  • cool but thats what snowmobiles are for

  • dude where are you at whe you're filming this and if you're alone whose filming

  • I have one of those miniature tripods, around 4" high, I just put it on top of a stump, checked the angle, then edited out all the non action as I was getting into position to ride towards the camera.

  • Very Cool

  • hey man i am going to get a bike hopefully this winter and im not going to do any serious riding but is it ok to ride in the snow?

  • Riding in the snow and ice will challenge every skill you have ever learned, to ride hard all day without a crash is an acomplishment few understand.

  • that was awesome

im thinking of putting studed tires on my crf450r , im trying to find someone to do it with me :P

  • It takes a "special" mentallity to do it, it can be fun, but you need the right bunch of die hard riders, we rode all day today, only about inch of snow, but the ground was frozen, and it was freezing out, and no one had studs on yet!

  • yea , theres about an inch now . im scared to go out without the studed tires on yet , the back end goes everywhere right

  • It's all about throttle control, and trying to be smooth.

I ride a KTM 300, so I was also able to adjust my power valve in to make it more tractable and less screaming, really helped a lot, and my rear tire is shot!

  • hey dirtrider wat kind of bike is that ur riding and wat did u use on ur tires ?

  • 2000 Yamaha WR400

Trelliborg long studded winter tires, work great in deep snow, for everything else we use shorter studs called frozen ground tires.

  • okay thanks man nice vid i like it i have a 2003 yz250f nice bike love riding

    again nice vid and thanks

  • The Yamaha 250F is a great bike, we have 2 guy's riding them now, both 2007 one has a 290 kit in it.

  • o really well what else do i need to put in my bike to ride during the winter so i dont blow spark plugs? where abouts do you live like... what state?

  • We live in Northeast Pennsylvania.

What do you mean by blown plugs, you cant be talking about fouling them.

The Winter air is colder and denser, that means your bike is getting a lot more air per fuel mixture, which means you must increase your main and pilot jets. In the 4 strokes I believe you also have a leak jet, increasing that will also make it easier to start.

I also cut a thin piece of plastic and put that in the airbox to help keep out fine powder snow, add heated grips easy to do.

  • ha yeah i didnt mean to blow plugs like that but yeah i was just wondering from someone how to make my bike so i can ride it in the winter i live in southern new hampshire so we close by

  • Dat waz tite dat look fizzun az hell

  • Can you put that in english?

  • Okay, That was tight. That look fun as hell

  • Glad you liked it!

  • what kind of bike do you have?

  • sweet music. love BOC

  • nice, i like it more on open areas like a frozen sea or something, cant w8 to the winter aggain xD got me a new dirtbike too :D

  • i have 900 carbide studs in my tires for winter.

  • very good put together vid. i liked it

  • Thanks

The begining I just stuck the camera in the snow.

As you can see by the pictures in the end we did venture off into the woods and ride some single track.

  • is that in new england

  • No

    N.E. Pennsylvania

  • avin fun never rode in da snow b4

  • are you illiterate, or just retarded? nice grammar

  • what kind of bike is the yamaha

    wr 450 or 426

  • Neither!

    It is a 2000 Yamaha WR400

Bought it new, and I still have it, a torque monster that I now mainly use for deep snow Winter riding.

  • snow bike!!!

  • cool

  • no need to change ur tires run them flat and ride hard the only fun way 2 do it. ive used a pattle tire and worked out not to bad!

  • it looks like you are having fun

  • what about pre studded tires, do they just cost to much? How long are the barkbuster studs and how long do they last? Are they screw in?

  • You can get prestudded tires for around $200.00 each, if you are carefull with the throttle they will last a few seasons,

  • lol... "NO BARKBUSTERS" i did 1 race w/ out barkbusters... i will never do that again

  • I know what you mean, we invite people to ride and tell them bark busters are a must, they show up without them, and they have a miserable day, hey there's a reason why the trees have the bark knocked off them!

  • it dont cost that much to stud your tires any dirtbike shop can order in studs for you. all you need is a drill i studded my front and back tire in liek 2 hours its really easy work jsut takes a long time cause soo many studs and it cost me 40 bucks fro a box of 1000 studs

  • You studded a tire without a stud gun?

  • I think he is talking about the V cut screw studs, i used to ride my kx 125 on the ice with em. work real good as long as there is no snow on the ice.

  • i call gas gas, pass gas lol!

  • The Gas Gas didn't last to long!

1 Summer of riding, and he hated the bike, sold it for half of what he paid for it, just to get rid of it.

  • looks like fun. It dose not snow here in west Texas. but its cool cuzz we run GP's all year. O and to all the haters.... you are just mad cuzz u prolly dont have the money to ride. and if you do have then money then you are just too big of pussys.... if you ride then you cool with me

  • it snowed 1 time just recently and i live just east of the nm tx border by lbk

  • k thanks for the help dude

  • how much would it cost to get it studed at my local dealer?

  • No idea, you would be better off finding a Autamotive tire dealer who still studs tires and ask him if he can do it.

Keep in mind you'll still have to drill the holes, and that is determined by the depth of the stud.

Also WER products now has a screw in stud, no gun needed, you can do them yourself.

    Good luck

  • where could i get studs for a kx100 and where is this i live in p.a?

  • If your going to stud your own, it's a LOT more involved than that, Stud Gun- $400-$700

Studs -Cheapest $45.00 per thousand, Air Compressor, all holes drilled, and a lot of time

  • where were you guys riding?

  • n.e., p.a.

  • i dont even stud my tyres ive got a 400 cc yamaha ice is not even a problem

  • I have a Yamaha WR400, The last 2 years have been the ONLY time I have ever had studded tires, ran all winter on rubber, you don't know what your missing till you have them, thats me at 1:57 doing a repair.

  • kk ill try them cheers

  • man snow riding looks like fun... it snows where i live but idk i just never get around to getting my tiers studded.

  • You can buy them, Maxxis sells them also, they are much cheaper than trelleborg.

Get the frozen ground studs, they are great for up to 3-4 inches of snow, and are pretty reasonable.

    We stud our own.

  • dude what we do when we go some were with snow make a snow jump!!! they are so much fun but hard to go up in the air with cause your bike mainly sinks in the snow lol

  • are your tires studed? how are they in the snow without studs?

  • Yes they are, I am riding with Trelliborgs, as are most of the other riders.

  • try not to ride in the snow ^^ freezes all the barins engine stuff =S

  • Freezes all the barins?

    We freeze our balls off!

  • What are the names of the songs and the artists in your video? awesome video too!!

  • my dad like this video

  • i could ride better then that with a bald tire in the snow you guyz SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Talk is cheap, lets see some proof, I have LOTS of videos posted, how about you?

We also rode hours of gnarly single track that day plowing through snow and up hills, this was only footage of the field, near the end theres pictures.

  • my to but they are very good

  • and i can talk shit cuz i race

  • Do you race or ride in over 12" of snow and freezing rain? The week before we had 17" of sleet and freezing rain, 4" of that was actually snow, it was like riding on marbles.

  • wow u guyz rn't 2 good

  • wow wat a shit video

  • I'm sorry compared to your videos I guess it is...............oh wait you don't have any posted do you?

Untill you can do better dont talk shit.

  • exactly the point......im not posting up shit

  • Your not posting up ANYTHING, just TALKING shit.

  • what song is this?

  • The group is SWEET

    The song is Ballroom Blitz

  • how much r they and were do u get 1 because i wont to buy 1

  • You can probably pick one up on Ebay, $2000-2500 for one in good shape. I bought mine new, a very dependable bike that doesn't owe me nothing.

  • really nice bikes, weak video

  • After the field we went and ran single track in all that snow.

  • gas gas makes a good bike, in fact they all do, they all make mistakes also, who cares what you ride so long as you ride? nice vid, is the wr a 450 or 250?

  • Actually my Winter bike is a 2000 Yamaha WR400, talk about torque and power to the ground, an awesome Snow bike.

  • looks like fun

  • what tires do you run? message me with the answer i plan on riding this winter and idk what tires to run.

  • wher is this

  • Pennsylvania

  • dude i live in PA too. i remember this storm like yesterday. it was like around winter/early spring time i think. ur right the sleet was bad. couldn't even shovel it. nice vid.

  • It was the worse sleet I can remember, and riding in it was quite a challenge.

  • yea gas gas and ktm is very high quality.

can u do that w/o studs. ive never tried but i guess i will in 5 months or so

  • You can, but it makes life a lot harder.

  • dude what the hell is a gas gas you guys need to get on a real bike a 2stroke honda not this weak ass off brand called gas gas

  • hey idiot. a gas gas is a very good brand bike. dont post about stuff you know nothing about. Go ride your little honda 80 mommy bought you and shut it!

  • ya go get a nice brand new honda 2 stroke 150 then see how your little gas gas goes

  • It's a shame Honda wont be making any more 2 strokes after this year.

The Gas Gas is a 300cc 2 stroke!

Twice the displacement of the little honda 150.

  • lol fairplay guys rated 5***** lol

  • the bikes kick ass

  • What do your bikes cost o_O? Lucky bastards :D

  • i have to agree with you they are nice bikes, but they are all pretty average, except the KTM, and gas gases arent too terrably expensive either, but other than that there all nice bikes

  • I think you need more explosions and fire in your vid.

  • I had a fire! LOL

It was freeken cold, 9am, in the winter and over a foot of ice and snow on the ground.

  • Ice racing is awesome :D I race a CRF250 in motocross, arenacross, and ice racing. Its all awesome :D

  • is snow bad for dirt bikes?1

  • It's not bad for them, it is hard on them, the engine definately has to work harder, plus it's harder to stay on 2 wheels.

  • i got a ktm sx 85 that owns full race spec tuned the lot

  • man you guys are so lucky :(( i want a 125cc motorcross bikes but all i can find on the internet is pitbikes :P all the others are waay to dear lol

  • Cant wait to get on my tricked out crf 150

  • pretty good vid. I had a suzuki ds 80 2 stroke.I stopped riding for a bit. Now im putting on my boots and starting up again on a honda crf 150.( im 12 )

  • Riding young is great, try to get together with more experienced riders and absorb all their knowledge.

  • You guys should get ice tires and go on lakes

  • Sounds tempting, snow isn't bad to fall in, ice wouldn't be so forgiving.
