  • Despite what you hear go with the 5.4L. My 2004 is pushing 390hp 448lb ft. It sounds so mean too, I have a video uploaded go check it out

  • I'm debating getting a f150 with a 4.6 or a 5.4 the horsepower difference is like 60 I'm looking at a 2004-2008 and a 6 inch fabtech. Would you recommend a 4.6 with a chip or a stock 5.4 since that would be around the same horsepower thanks for your responses

  • @cv871 if it were me i wud go with the 4.6, i love the sound that they make, even with stock exhaaust, we have one with just cold air intake and its got a really awesome deep growl from the engine, put on a chip and you got just as much power as the 5.4, sounds like the direction i wud go. I find the 5.4 a little less responsive.

  • Don't know why anyone would want the 4.2 v6 over this. Basically the same on gas.

  • damn!!just like big boy's!!beautiful ride man,congratulations

  • about how much did this setup cost you? im looking for something similar for my 07 f150 to give it some sound but i dont want anything too loud and obnoxious. im really likin your setup with the true dual. any details on it would be much appreciated

  • @ShamrockLAX12 well it cost me about 150-200 i think however i had two flowmaster 40s and the two stainless steel tips already so you would have to add those to your expected price tag... i think the mufflers are probably 70-90 a piece and if you go stainless steel tips they can get up in the 70s too... all of these figures are off the top of my head so you can do your own research lol but i also recommend looking into an x or h pipe for your setup mine didn't have one but it wouldn't hurt

  • @wildrul and i also add that this was a custom job at a nearby muffler shop using custom crush bend pipes

  • about how much did this setup cost you? im looking for something to give my 07 f150 some sound but i dont wont anything loud and obnoxious. this seems like a good setup for that. any details would be much appreciated

  • I have A 97 f150 thats true dual and im thinkin about gettin two flowmaster super 44.s for it. I think its gonna sound mean just like yours.

  • After you put the system on did u have any problems with it running lean or the computer I want true duals but someone told me they would cause problems

  • @bsl3216 well i never experienced problems with this setup however doing a true dual setup with an x pipe or an h pipe will make it perform much better and most likely would help you avoid said issues and still have a true dual setup

  • nice man..but when my 1992 f150 needs an oil change thats what mine sounds like lol.. nice truck too.

  • Good good. Im glad to see this. I hate the single in, single muffler, dual out deal. They sound like ass. Yours sounds great. If you get an X pipe, it wil smooth out all that popping and cracking big time.

  • How are the two mufflers mounted? Are they on their sides next to each other?

  • @heatherandpaul2 yes they are mounted on their sides and welded to each other

  • what size pipe did you run

  • @05281Colton150 im not sure maybe 2.5?

  • Are you satisfied with Flowmaster? I just wanna hear what you think, I wouldn't ever buy them myself.

  • @TechSixNine i loved them on this truck i couldn't get enough of the sound

  • running cats?

  • @marlinredneck yup all factory cats

  • i got the same truck model and motor. i like the sound of the 40 series but not quite enough noise. i put the flowmaster super 10 muffler on mine and it is barely a step up from straight pipes. the whole muffler is only about 6 inches long and its single chamber. it sounds identical to straight pipes but it is legal. i also used four inch stainless tips on mine. most people only use 3. and that bigger tip gives it a more throaty noise. i like the popping sound of the super 10 sounds great

  • @solutionman78 i bet that is pretty loud i bet the neighbors love you lol

  • Comment removed

  • i got the same truck, how much were the flow masters?

  • @cougarman50 well i bought mine slightly used both was $50 but a new set would probably be around $90 a muffler

  • I this full or from the cat back? because i just ordered from the cat back and have the same truck and really hope i get the same quality

  • @stinkyfarts445 its a custom job but its from the cat back

  • nice how du u get youre mufflers ta pop like dat?

  • @MegaSkokie bigger piping= less back pressure and the popping tells you that lol

  • sick fuckin nasty. good shit.

  • can you order exhaust like yours or do you have to do it custom, i mean do they make an x pipe for f-150 and true dual straight pipe?

  • @spk9grsch well this was a custom job at a muffler shop... i know u could have an x pipe welded in and i know you can get something similar if you look at flowmasters website (flowmaster mufflers) but it wouldnt be a true dual setup because they would have to cut alot of pipe out to make a "true dual" setup. if you went to a shop they could easily make you a true dual straight pipe setup with an x pipe

  • @wildrul is your truck stock or was anything done to it.. also i have a 4.6 v8 engine and i wanted to get flowmasters but im not sure what it will sound like.. do u have anything done to the truck besides the flows or is it stock.

  • @561sage in this video it is only the true dual flowmasters everything else was stock... however in one of my other videos this truck has this exhaust (a little different piping for the exits though) a programmer and an intake and you can see the difference between the before and after

  • @wildrul so if i wanted to get the mufflers i would tell the guy that i want true duals. or what.. also how much did it cost. thank you

  • @561sage if you want the true dual setup i just want to make sure you realize they will be cutting a large portion of piping out of the exhaust, more than a standard cat back system would need to have removed because for a true dual you have to cut out where the two exhaust form into one.... when you go up there they will put your truck on a lift and you will see what i am talking about. just tell them you want a true dual exhaust and you will prolly have to discuss how you want it all done

  • as far as running the pipes to the back or where ever... and for a true dual you will need 2 mufflers or at least a 2 in 2 out muffler for a true dual exhaust (2 in 2 out isnt really true dual but its very close) i never have one but its recommended to get an x or h pipe to help balance pressure between the exhaust pipes

  • @wildrul ^^^ what he said. a true dual setup is say on a v engine, each manifold has its own exhaust pipe/muffler/tailpipe. a cross over pipe/xpipe will work wonders. i removed the one off of my cvpi. noticed right away

  • @spk9grsch brooom broomm.

  • does your truck have the big gas tank on the right side?

  • @huskerrunner11 from the rear of the truck it would have been on the left im pretty sure...i don't own this truck anymore though

  • Man i got some flow masters on my 04 f-150 but im definately going to take those into consideration!!!

  • sounds good for a relatively small V8. is the truck underpowered?

  • @abram7117 yea it was somewhat but helped it out alot with the exhaust as well as an intake and an edge programmer, which you can see in one of my other videos, which made the truck sound more aggressive as well as adding needed power and response

  • the exhaust tips you got, i ear if you get them wider tips 3-5 inch tips that are 12-18 inches long you get a better sound from em, is this true? i hear they're called echo cans or echo tubes. i got a flowmaster super 44 on my 4.7l V8 durango and i wana get a "echo can" if it will have an effect on sound you know? any ideas man?

  • @aaminjoshi91 i know that the larger the tip, the lower the tone of the exhaust, which is desireable in most cases.. however, 5 inch tips won't look right on a dodge durango imo... so use discretion

  • @wildrul what would you sugest its 2.5 now maybe 3.5-4 inches? i'm not gonna have it coming out the bottom so not alot of it will be seen if that helps any, i just want the biggest diameter without lookin wierd you know?

  • @aaminjoshi91 im pretty sure that this truck had 3.5 inch tips so 3.5 would be fine... ive seen a 1500 silverado with 4s that look good but any bigger wouldnt be good imo... so stick to 3.5 or 4 at the biggest if ur going by me lol... if you can just go to a muffler shop and hold them up to ur durango and see what you like best

  • @wildrul alright man i'll check that out, as for the muffler shop i dont know if i'll get mine with them but i'll stop by some auto parts stores to see who has what and i'll see what looks good you know? and as far as an affect is it noticable? i mean i dont wanna spend 20 bucks for a tip and 30 for instalation/weld and not get any change you know? would you say there is a big enough difference to notice the pitch change?

  • @aaminjoshi91 honestly i cant say for sure if it is noticeable because i have only had those tips and no other sizes.... i would like to think yes but i cant promise anything... also 20 bucks a tip?? if you get chrome then maybe but if you get stainless steel like i had then it might be closer to 50-70

  • @wildrul 50 bucks for a tip? Damn thats kinda pricey, but i guess we'll see you know? I mean 70 bucks? thats almost as much as my super 44 series! but i'll look into it you know? see what te shops around here actually got!

  • @aaminjoshi91 im almost sure they were about that much... maybe not but i know the stainless steel is alot higher than chrome

  • @wildrul well whats wrong with the chrome tips then man? i mean if they're cheaper?

  • @aaminjoshi91 believe it or not if you don't keep the chrome tips cleaned and polished near religiously they will rust out and through on you.. i see rusted out tips all the time... the tips on this truck were at least 2 1/2 to 3 years old in this video and not a spot of rust was there when i got rid of the truck about 6 months later and i didn't clean the tips like i coulda...

  • @wildrul oh yeah? alright man i'll keep that in mind, but i mean i might not even get it at this point cuz 70 bucks plus 30 for the weld job doesnt seem worth it right now to me you know? maybe as a finishing touch but not now

  • @aaminjoshi91 i understand... i could be wrong about those price figures... just be careful of what u get and make sure u take care of it like it needs to be

  • @wildrul alright man thanks, i'll keep all that in mind when and if i get it

  • @aaminjoshi91 aight if u do let me know and make a vid

  • @wildrul alright man wil do! I do got some vids of my exhaust up now, i got one with the super 44 which is newest one with it straight piped and one with a dynomax glasspack, if you got some extra time check em out and let me know what you think!

  • @wildrul Hey man, I know its been a while but i did find a stainless steel tip for 40 bucks! its a 3.5x18 inch tip. i got a cold air intake as well. Still running my super 44 flowmaster but i got plenty more vids up if you wanna check em out sometime!!!

  • @aaminjoshi91 sweet dude sounds great and i will look at those vids

  • @wildrul Alright man! Leave some comments and tell me what you think!!

  • sounds good, why does the truck look flat black? lol

  • @stuntrider15 the truck was wet that day lol

  • where did u get it and much was it?

  • @er0ll95 the rsx? i got it in lavergne, tn and it was about 13k... its a 2006 and had 28k miles at the time(base model with leather)

  • you sold it? im getting 17-19 mpg highway with same rig..

  • @cstmx156 yea i traded it for an acura rsx... yea its an import but its a 5spd alot quicker than this truck and gets twice the gas mileage

  • i got rid of this truck because of gas mileage... i was blowing my paycheck on gas

  • @wildrul bummer to hear, but i know what you mean. Its hard to keep up with fuel, but i need a truck for my line of work.

  • @DarrenWS6 im not to bummed though i like my little car pretty good its fun d drive since its a 5spd manual :)

  • *fun to drive*

  • @wildrul, my dad had one of these for a while, was spending like $400 a month in gas so he also got rid of it for a nice car. sweet truck, but gas is not free.

  • @jrowe6 yea i really liked the truck but i was paying close to wat ur dad was paying and it wasn't cutting it since i work part time minimum wage lol

  • @wildrul, lol yea that wont work. my dad drives alot for business, i think he said something like 40k miles a year. so yea, the truck was killing his fun money. i have an old explorer which gets like 13 city 18 highway which still blows and i hate putting gas in it, but i dont drive too much so its not hurtin me too bad. still, sometimes i consider trading it for a little stick shift 2 door coupe with a little 4 banger in it. my first car was an escort, 35mpg....kinda missin it right now

  • @jrowe6 my rsx is the first little 5 speed 4 cyl ive ever had and i like it pretty good... v8s are fun but they kill ur wallet

  • In this video how long are the tips you used? sounds great ! i get super 44's tomorrow

  • @Weatherbyshooter i honestly don't know.... and i don't own this truck anymore so i can't check either... sorry dude

  • 3v were in 04+

  • if you are referring to the 5.4 then yes it was a 3v but the 4.6 engines are 2v

  • OH!!! My bad they do have a smaller triton 4.6L.

  • I thought Triton was a 5.4L?? The 4.6 was is the smaller v8 for this truck.

  • get glasspacks

  • thats sounds mint!!, I just got a 2010 f150, with the 4.6, I want to do that to mine, whats yours like for power? mine is gutless... amazing on fuel though!

  • well in this video i only had an exhaust... doesn't do alot for power by itself... true dual setup actually can rob from low end torque but helps in higher rpms because of increased air flow... this truck now has a cia which helps with power a little but really helps with response... as well as a edge evolution programmer which gives the most noticeable increase in hp and trq.... and these add ons compound each other... check my latest video for the edge programmer and cold air intake

  • Your tips are crooked. Sounds alright.

  • this setup has been fixed i have them coming straight out the back check out my newest video

  • Forgot to say, the truck passed emisions with the high flow cats its just every shop said its to loud and my tint was to dark. Alkso do u have the 2v or 3v 4.6LV8.

  • thanx man i love it... i need to get more videos i have an intake and a programmer now and it has really changed the trucks sound and performance... ive thought about gettin high flow cats but since i have four it would be super expensive... and its just the 2v the 3v for the trucks didn't come out till 2009 i think?

  • you have a 3 valve

  • ...? im pretty sure that its 2v but if u have proof please inform me

  • It's 2v. 3v is only in the 09+ trucks, and the explorer and sport trac and such.

  • @BendrFendr wow... the 3v 5.4L came in 2004. Do your research before you make claims.

  • Nice truck and the exhaust sounds beautiful. I live in massachusetts and i had to go to 4 inspection stations to get it passed. Got one set of magnaflow high flow cats and slp lm2 on a 2007 f150, sounds retarted too retarted so its time to switch to a supper 44. I never got why the 04 had two sets of cats and from then on only one set.

  • hi-flow cats is your key, you can replace the sound killing rear ones with magnaflow part #94106 cats and still pass the sniffer and have a little more sound.

  • would it be possible to delete the rear ones and replace the front ones with high flows and still pass? or do i have to have all 4?

  • If you can still get inspected then definitely go for it. Ask your exhaust shops.

  • take the cats right out i took them out on mine

  • all of them? or what?

  • the to back ones and i punched out the front ones so when they look under my truck they see cats so all they can do is give me a noise violation its only 90$ here and is sask. we have no emision laws

  • we have to pass emissions so i have to keep my emissions down.... i don't know how much the rear cats play in the emissions though

  • they play a big part theres not much in the little ones how offten do you get tested

  • every time we renew our tags

  • oo ouch that sucks yeah they dont even do them here at all its awsome

  • yea its nice and strict around here...

  • if i were u just replace all ur cats with highflows u'll prolly get enough sound to notice and pass all ur emissions

  • yea... that adds up quick though...

  • do u still have the cats on?

  • yes still has all four original cats... considering getting rid of them and replacing with high flows though

  • i think it sounds really good.

  • How much did that exhust cost? do you have a intake on or no?

  • well this exhuast cost me $210 but that is because i only paid $50 for both super 44s and i already had the tips from my previous truck... and no there isn't an intake... i hope to get one in the future though

  • finally someone true dualed the super 44s, sounds pretty good, but quite quiet. Remove them rear cats and let them roar.

  • ... so would that be able to still pass emissions?

  • emissons no, the sniffer would identify it. Hi-flow cats would be another good option.

  • well all they do for us here is flashlight under it but they still wouldn't be there... i might put some on later but for now i need to pay off the truck

  • ah. well good video anyways, hope to hear more of this trucks setup. Im gonna have the Super 44s sitting under my bed installed this spring when the salt goes away, and see if I like them. I love my Magnaflow though but that Flowmaster idle my old truck had was sweet.

  • alright man i hope to see what it sounds like

  • no they will pass with hight flow cats my truck has them no and passed

  • ... i take that back there is a sniffer my buddy had a 86 5.0 mustang and he just failed because of emissions

  • It sounds and looks awsome, but you need to rev it more so we can really hear it.

  • ill try to make another video sometime soon thanks for the input

  • i made another video with fly bys go check it out
