Metal Church was my absolute favorite metal band some 24 years ago. I cannot tell you how sick I get at the thought of the band no longer being together and no longer performing. This song is a monument in metal history.
I prefer "The Dark" over "Blessing in Disguise", AND "The Human Factor". Don't know about their newer albums. I guess i gotta get back into them. I''ve been into Funeral Doom Metal as of late, and it's my preferred brand of metal. I still won't abandon my metal roots, though. Metal Church being one of the great bands i've been listening to since the 80's.
Wow! This song is a great one about the homeless. Someone who had everything, and is now only concerned about getting some shelter, some booze, and digging through a trashcan for food. Very sad about humanity, how we can see the upside and the downside of people just by driving down the street.

@siliyemoodislam Nobody dare dislike the church!! VERY great metal band, and like you said, underrated album was "Blessing in Disguise". Hell, "The Dark"' was underrated, too. I still think David Wayne was better than Mike Howe.
mike howe are one of the best metal singer ! i buy this great work in 97 in a little shop near the switzerland borderline and i was completely in rapture after the listening of this track...
Ohhhhhhhhhhh GOD He fucking starts screaming, like where it goes "Take an extra moment, when you find yourself at peace..." and it just makes me want to fucking headbang so hard... I love this song. So heavy when it contrasts to the clean sections... ♥
Blessing in Disguise will go down in history as one of the greatest metal albums ever recorded. Life is unfair, Metallica puts out the garbage that was fuel and re fuel and metal church fades into obscurity. I dare anyone to name me one bad sone from the blessing in disguise album, im glad i grew up in this era, thx so much for posting.
@afoolisharrangement I, too, was always a big Metal Church fan. I did get to see Metallica play once. James Hetfield had burned his hand so John Marshall played guitar for him. I never liked Metallica much but that show was cool...Faith No More, Metallica, and Guns-n-Roses... You are correct in your words though. Metal Church was and still is a great band.
@afoolisharrangement they were called ''load'' and ''reload'' and they were hardly trash...they were just not the same style as their previous albums...more hard rock/country-like than thrash metal, that's all...now this particular album by Metal Church has a few memorable/catchy tunes-it's an all around decent effort, but I wouldn't go as far as calling it a classic...I believe their greatest moment was their debut!
Seriously epic song! "Take an extra moment..." sends chills up my spine. Freakin powerful! Mike Howe is one of the most underrated singers. Always wished he had hooked up with Schuldiner for Control Denied. Nothing against Ayamar, but imagine Howe on The Fragile Art!!
@TornWithinOfficial Did that almost happen??? Man, that kinda breaks my heart. That would've put that record over the top. Not that Ayamar wasn't good, but man, Howe is incredible. I never understood the MC fanbase obsession with David Wayne; Howe blew him out of the fucking water. Why he never cracked the upper echelon of revered metal singers is a mystery to me.
@aldersmoke1 I don't think so man. From what I've read Schuldiner was sold pretty quick on Ayamar (a mutual friend put them in contact) and didn't do a crazy search.
