  • In 100years you would never see this in Nigeria. It's all Hip hop and mini skirts - Nigeria is a slave for African American consumerism and tradition

  • stop the hatred guys, what's the point, we are all equal.

And here was me thinking that you were all here to watch the beauty in the video.

  • differents kind yorubas came to my country cuba efik,oyo,ect...i do not hear drums bata here cubans has been playing bata drums for more than 400 years ,iam cuban white mix 90% cuban people have yoruba blood we are spain and africa (yoruba ,bamtu)many traditions desappear in nigeria but still cuba alive in cuba.ashe to nigeria!!!

  • @congoblancotunero for more than 400 years?!!! Sorry but your information is WRONG! The first bata where played in Cuba by Ayanbi (Añabí) in the middle of the XIX century and exact date is known (I just don't remember). Efik ARE NOT YORUBA! This another thing... and concerning to the so called lost traditions in Nigeria I believe this is a myth. I'm Cuban, I'm a lukumi religion practitioner, so, I know what I'm talking about.

  • @olhocritico you are my friend about efik, oyo and igbo are not yorubas i did the reserch you were right about that ,but still i think since the yorubas came to cuba more than 400 years ago they were playing the bata in osha ceremony, the coloners(spaniars)let them celebreted as long as they reconize the cristians saints !!!

  • @congoblancotunero that is what is their saving grace, they do have yoruba culture and oyo is yoruba ..

  • @congoblancotunero have you been to nigeria to say our traditions have disappeared here ? you must be thinking of some carribean country or some other land like the usa where they have no african traditions because they were not allowed to practice them on pain of death. totally nonsense to even suggest we do not speak our languages or practice our traditions .. before you speak LISTEN AND LEARN .. its far from the truth..

  • ♥Proud 2 be a Yoruba♥

  • Rich... Colourful... Culture.. Naija4life!

  • N'KOSI SIKELELI AFRIKA!!!!

  • O o jee re! (You will prosper!)

  • love it

  • You are funny because you are mad that you have no culture. Don't worry.. I understand. I would be mad to if I had no history. What is your history Msharrythecat? Rascism? Murder? Compare us to apes and I will say my theory is that you have fallen the farthest from GOD since we all know that life started in the country Africa... the country you are speaking rudely against. Get a life.

  • continent! my Bad. Biko ndonu! My mistake... I was very angry!!! LOL.

  • no worry yase'f the imporrant t'ing is that you finish am.

  • I second am

  • africa is NOT A COUNTRY misshurdles i guess that was an oversight on your part.. i hope.

  • @misshurdles71388 You couldn't have said it better.

  • @misshurdles71388

Nice reply, but please Nrxt time, AFRICA is a CONTINENT of over 52 Sovereign Nations, not a Country....

    Arrrrrgh!!! :(

  • @Zamzaki1 nice reply too , until i saw the COUNTRY bit.. ONLY AMERICANS BELIEVE THAT AFRICA IS A COUNTRY .. its just the way they do things out there.. lol!

  • mrsharrythecat the beast of no gender, no culture and faceless. You're jealous of strong Africans. I wouldn't want to abuse ur race cos of those who value and believe in human race regardless of where they come from but ignorants like u are sick in the head, u need to travel out of ur four walls to discover new things that will broaden ur mind about world we live in & d people who live in it. Check ur history & study d Geography planet earth was once united & we all evolve from Mother Africa.

  • omoibile ,u are too much,true talk

  • I am sorry if I do offend the people who are rude, and uncaring towards this, but that is your problem. Dancing is a way to express yourself. Africa was a place of peice until racism came to the U.S and slaves and that type of stuff. What I'm really aiming to tell you is every black person came from africa and then spread into different places. Im from West Africa in Nigeria. My mom was born in the North and my dad was born in umousu in Abia State. I know yall don't care. Africa is beautiful.

  • africa was never a place of peace its not hawaii... you need to do some reading.. the slaves are as a result of the various warring tribes and of course the system that was already in place before white slavers came along.. the arabs and africans trading in slaves for thousands of yrs before they just came in to tap into an already established system. most black americans dont like to accept this fact but thats not going to change history..

  • That's just because north-american black people want to have something which allows them to hate white people with a good reason.

That's kinda sad, hatred only brings cultures and nations down, not rise them.

I have many times think what's so bad about us white people?

Or is it just cause of something some of us palefaces did 200 years ago and what's unforgivable? Right...

  • am a nigerian dont ask me, you should be asking the descendants of the slaves who bear your name, not ours..

  • Sorry I didn't understand. What you ment with "bear your name"? As in "carry your name"?

  • Don't worry. When people say 'white' people they are making generalization. Most people don't realize there were both African- Black and Creole slaves- as well as Caucasian- white slaves. But because of the way it's been taught to us... alot of the information has been left out. Black people have to wake up... as well as white people. Someone is keeping out minds on the wrong thing.

  • You seem to be missing something. The White people who are in power have not changed. They are still the same murdering, exploitatitve deceptive people they were when they came into Africa 500 years ago and in fact every every where people of color were indiginous they destroyed and colonized.

  • How does the proverb go?

"World changes all the time but man stays the same""

  • I don't think that Africa was a world of "peace" prior to European slavery however European slavery cannot be compared the African slavery (indentured servitude). They are in essence two totaly different concepts. Africans did not seek to change one's culture, God and murder you in front of your family if you refused. There is a big difference and if you were to read about the attrocities European slave committed against African slaves you would see a big difference.

  • what are you talking about???

  • @oluwalogbon58 Beware of careless mistakes. Your contribution is not correct. Not everything you read in books are correct. Slavery has been in every culture and age and not just in Africa. Trans-Atlantic slavery is however different in nature and the blame is basically on the Europeans. Not just for what they did in Africa, but how they treated the slaves abroad. Next is to destroy the rest of Africans at home with colonialism. Continuation of wars and didvide and rule.

  • @davies93313 You need to know European history well. You will know they have never been in peace as you think till recent time. How did the Greeks and the Romans rule the ancient world? Read about their evolution from the beginning, what led to their falls, medieval Europe, their monarchs, their different revolutions, especially French revolution, modern European wars like Britain and Ireland, the Cold War, first and second world wars etc Also know about capitalism/socialism etc,

  • @davies93313 You also need to know about the advent of nationhood. Present arangement of countries is a recent development and has link to some present day social evils like imperialism, racism etc. Know what led the Europeans into exploring other places which also led to the discovery of America, their activities during gold mines in America and other places of the world. White man has never been so peace-loving. What of their other colonies outside Africa?

  • @davies93313 Then Know African history well but beware of distortions by the white man. Afrcan was by far more stable, productive, and peaceful than what it is today. Conflict has been in ancient Africa just as it was every other place but cultures, civilizations, moral values, empires and kingdaom florished. The inter-tribal conflicts were mainly because of the age which lacked international laws as it is today. Many a time migrations and settlements were part of the causes.

  • @davies93313 With divide and rule, present wars and enemities in Africa took root. Present problems in Africa are deliberately put in place by the white man and at least in some cases the people fought against them but were overpowered. They did those things to weaken stability and solidarity so that they can easily come in and do their businesses and go which they are still doing today. Don't think Africa has independence. UN this and that belong to the white man.

  • @davies93313 How were they formed? Read their histories as well. Know now also they are part of the white man's instruments of using the world ( and Africa) to his own advantage through many tricks. Therefore when Africans cry they know why they cry and where their problems are. Their foundation has been destroyed by invaders and attempts to reerect them being frustrated by the same external forces through various complex overpowering manipulations.

  • @davies93313 Why Africa suffer today is because they were shattered by trans-Atlantic slave trade which started gradually till it turned into hell in the next couple of centuries as a result of complicities played by the Europeans to see they got their stuff to build their new nations. Colianialism gave the final blow of total destruction. Destruction of the strong political entities, including those empires and kingdoms to discontinue their existance and divide and rule where.
