@dbglodowski I know!! Well everyone will have to wait until I post an update to this clip to see what other goodies I have accumulated since then. Stay tuned.
@youthizzile Ha ha. But that's the beauty of the system. You get the basic unit and then add on as your finances allow. In my case I could have 2 tables worth if finances allowed.
I don't have the cases but I have most everything else. Head mount and chesty are most used items. Suction cups in and on vehicles. I am trying to make a spinner out of a clock for even slower panning time lapse. Might try it this summer on a fishing pole under water. Great video by the way.
@akbychoice Thanks. I have switched from the cases to a big camera backpack for my 2 cameras, all the accessories and my laptop. I will probably fill up the cases again now they are empty. lol. It is fun making different mounts to capture different shots. I will be making more vids about some of them soon.
@glen1005 Hi. I made it. I bought the Tool case ($30) from Bunnings hardware and the Dense foam filler ($40) from a specialty foam supplier (Luxafoam). I cut the foam to shape with a electric bread Knife.
Alas it has now been superceded by an expensive camera backpack that I can also fit all my Samsung camera gear as well as my laptop...for overseas trips. Stay tuned.
@jstinemire Ha I didn't get a chance to answer. I have made a newer, better version of this since then. It is more rectangular. When using the prototype (see my river cave video) the light was at the bottom and went under water and the camera was scraping along the roof of the cave. Now I have 2 lights and the camera all in a line acros the middle. Lights NOT waterproof though. I'll post update soon. Bryn
The underwater lighting rig that you have...it appears to be homemade. Did you make it yourself, or did you purchase it from someone. I work underwater, which is why I bought the new Hero2. I am looking at my mounting/handling options. Many of the prefab camera/light rigs I have found online are rather pricey. Thoughts?
@jstinemire The LED light is not waterproof, but the rig could be custom made to your requirements. I saw an expensive circular camera mount that you held like a steering wheel and that got me thinking. It is very versatile and you can get reasonably stable footage in tight spaces. If you need help with the design PM me. Really bright Waterproof LED lights could be expensive.
LCD bacpac comes in handy when setting up the GoPro. YOu're able to see what's in the frame in real time BEFORE you start recording. And it's always nice to be able to review recording in the field in case you missed something and want to record more :)
@semperfisc I know. I can't tell you how many times I have gotten home to find the footage was useless for some reason. Not the cameras fault but the LCD bacpac would certainly fix that. As well as the 4 light set up on the GO Pro 2 which would help me know if it's actually recording. I have alist of things I want and will be able to fill a second table. Then I'll make another clip. lol
@UrbanElementsCrew No problem. You need to get an egg timer that can time for a long time so it can spin really slowly though, otherwise the video will pan around too fast. Most people use them for timelapses.
@OneEagerBeaver I have 2 egg timer panning units I made myself. You can make them for under $10. There are commercially available units but they can cost big dollars
@450hp202turbo GoPro.com says that the 120fps is in the lowest quality setting only (WVGA). I cant wait until they release maybe the Go Pro 3 - 120fps in FULL HD...that would be excellent for sure.
@brynmag oh yeah , i up grade if that happen ,if you look at some of the pro footage edite with high end PCs its looks pretty good ,, if you have good editing software you can sharpen it up
and blend shots in with the the 720p 60, or now 1080p.60 fps and render it in full 1080p
at 60fps , should look good . i have one on its way .i be testing all kinds of ways to get it looking sharp . cheers mate
@450hp202turbo Lucky you. I will have to wait a few months yet but the lights on 4 sides feature is pretty good. I'll sub your channel so I can see what you put up. Cheers
@jammin1033 Yeah I want that too. It's on my list don't you worry about that!! lol - When I make you dont just buy a Go Pro 2, I'm gonna need a bigger table.
Damn you put it to good use though so it's kinda worth it for. For me i just get outdoor package which is the camera, waterproof housing, head mount, helmet mount, the only thing i really need is the chest mount and floaty backpack, cause you can always just make homemade tripods, or stand it up on things :p
@BFDonovan Thanks. Yeah I'd like to get the floaty backpack. If I dropped the Go Pro in a canyon it would be Bye Bye. I have found a cheap bendy tripod to be really useful. The thing I found least useful was the head mount........ I didn't like the way the footage looked....all over the shop.
@HektikBooger Well, I'd have some change out of a thousand bucks...but not much. Yep you can get a wrist mount from Go Pro. Good for things like bungy jumping.
holy cow! you went "whole hog" as they say down there in america. i decided to be mr minimalist.R.T.U.T.B. resist the urge to buy. that and i glued my cash into my wallet now it's stuck i can't get it out. next you need to show us your cave cam unit how does it work?
I've also looked at the GoPro Hero HD, and was tempted to buy, especially also because it has SO many potential extras to add and the company seems determined to stay active in this for years & years to come. And even replacements for damaged lenses are possible & come relatively cheap! In the end, and for now, I decided for other cameras (with more/other features included right away), but this one still hasn't disappeared from my 'possible buy' list ;-)
@johvdz Thanks Jan. The Go Pro is an awesome Point of view camera but fails on other levels. 1) The fisheye can be annoying for straight scenery shots. 2) No zoom 3) No LCD to compose shots (without another add on). 4) No focus adjustment/ Macro. I have my eye on 2 new cameras. A DSLR for more complex timelapse and straight photography and a decent Full HD video camera for everything else.
@brynmag Yeah, those were also my main points in not deciding (for now) to buy it... but still as a pretty much 'indestructible' action camera it's quite unique in price/value/possible-add-ons ratio, I guess... Good plan on the eying for 2 new cameras also :-)
You don't have the back door floaty. Gheesh. Such a slacker! haha

450hp202turbo 1 week ago
@450hp202turbo It depends what setting you have the Go Pro on. R2, R3 and R4 are all 170 Degrees, which results in more "fisheye". R5 is 127 Degrees.
