I absolutely love Vash's reaction when Logato grabs that little girl. He realizes that he is truly powerless to save her and shows fear on his face for the first time in this series. Also he is really surprised that someone would actually harm an innocent girl like that but Logato is evil and would easily murder everybody in that town without a second thought.

If you watch this scene with 5.1 surround sound, it's incredibly disturbing. Legato's voice comes from different speakers at random. One second, the sound is in front of you to your left. The next, it's coming from behind you to the right, then behind you to the left, and so on. It's very eerie and unsettling.

meh, it might've been the head in the manga, but here the shoemaker's wife is saying "what's wrong with my husband?! he won't say anything!!" kinda hard to say something anyway if your head's been removed, lol, so that doesn't really make sense here. one theory that's been floating around out there is that it's actually the shoemaker's tongue. Cutting off someone's tongue would be enough for them to bleed to death, anyways.

I almost hate to admit it, but Legato was... my least favorite character in the show, so far as character motivation goes. He just seemed too.. "Mwahah I'm evil". I'm sure I just missed something during his introduction, and he was suitably intimidating and lead to one of Vash's best defining moments; but all the same, he just felt... so much more cliche than the others. Just my opinion, of course.

2. while his backstory is only explained in the manga(cause his power works differently there, uses metal string, not vash's arm), when he was a kid, he was a sex slave to an entire town. while the gay pedo mayor was busy raping him, Knives killed the townspeople except for legato, who used his power to save his own life and pledged his life to Knives.

Basically, in addition to what The13thRobo said, Knives gives him a reason for living. Before Knives came along, Legato had nothing. He basically lived as a shell, never caring for or about anything.

His only plan was to kill everyone in that town - which, of course, was taken care of for him just a little sooner than he got around to it.

Let's keep in mind here that Legato is only a human borrowing power. Vash is not human and naturally has those powers and more. If both Vash and Legato threw down and held nothing back for any reason then Legato wouldn't stand a chance. But Legato is still a cool cat. I'd say he's a better villain than any other in any story to date. Commodus, Satan, Vader, Khan, Hannibal Lecter, Dracula, any of them. Legato is the epitome of what a villain is and should be.

Yes but you have to understand, Vash might not win.

The reason behind this is because Legato knows how to manipulate other people and control their minds. They aren't as strong as Vash. He could easily do almost anything but end Vash's life.

Legato is fully aware that there's only one way to bring Vash down.

That is eternal pain and suffering through human sacrifice.

if you read the manga, then you will know that vash and legato actually fought each other and vash was able to over power him only because legato kept forcing him use all of his abilities. but your right though, legato knows how to manipulate others and used that to have vash kill him in the end.

However, you are right, given their respective nature and difference in personality and purpose, Legato is more powerful in a way; he has no reason to hold back where as Vash does. And as far as i know Legato can possess people or control their muscles but not simultaneously.

The Bulging Right Should I think is just a Pulldron(Shoulder Armor). The skull is on his left upper arm. Shows it at 24 seconds. Both of them have a story to them however. If I remember right the skull was his fathers or his first kill as a child. And the Right Giant Spiky ball is rumored to be as silly as a canteen of water, all the way to a small power plant to help control Vash's arm. Since such power might overthrow a simple human. but thats what I heard.
