  • I think Scottish dancing was invented in Eastern Europe where Serbia lies - where the Celtic people used to live. I can see a pattern. I still prefer Serbian folk dancing though.

  • @sanshack well said!

  • @AmericanCWOVI Haha thanks! :) Well i dont really appriciate it when someone tries to take a bash at my traditions when they know fuck all about it!

  • @sanshack From someone that has Scottish blood and does Highland Dancing, I know, and no one will understand unless the blood is in veins and truly appreciates their heritage.

  • @AmericanCWOVI Very well spoken man. My family take our heritage very seriously, were not really patriotic as such, but we have alot of pride. Everyone takes highland dancing in our family, and we also participate in the highland games each year with the McRae Tartan :)

  • @giveahoot1

    lol. ever watched highland dancing?

  • Originally, the national dances were for women. They wore a skirt, vest and sash. The men danced in the kilt dances wearing kilts. The national dances were invented later so women could participate. Now days women and men compete in both. Women wear national dresses and kilts with a vest or a jacket.

For more info look up: SOBHD highland dance costume regulations
