When I was about 5 years old, for 1 year I wouldn't eat anything except for doner kebab...so everyday my mom would take me to the place and get me one and some extra so I could eat one later on.....ever since moving to the U.S. I haven't had a good and authentic doner kebab -_-

I'm American and I agree that most Yanks have no idea about real Doner Kebab. I was lucky enough to live a year in Istanbul and authentic Doner and Shish Kebab is what I really miss about the place.

In northern England the chilli sauce made with chilli, onion and lemon juice was very popular, and tasty.

Oven freash pita is def a must.

NOT as good at all, I tell people all the time how good this is, and joked with my German friend to go learn how to make it and we'll open a shop in the US lol... tbh I'm kinda hoping we could!!!

@MoonBunnyStudios Yah!!...the worse things about these American gyros is most definately the "flat bread"...or ..I wouldnt even call it bread, it's this rubbery..mushy untasty cardboard stuff!!!! And I can't even blame the Gyro for it, cause I had kick ass gyros in Greece and their flat bread is FAR from that frozen-buy-in-200-piece-pack flat bread that you get here! BAH!!!.. ALSO..the greek white garlic sauce you get on gyros? It's suppose to made of yoghurt, not sour cream!
