  • Haha I love this scene. It's so sweet. And Sherlock's reaction to it... Dawwww

  • Oh Molly.. trying to be a good friend but unable to say things correctly. I actually rofled at this scene the first time I saw it.. because she tries to help, but makes things seem a whole lot worse.

THIS SCENE.. might be important to the fall. Im having a hunch it is.

  • I was thinking the other day that Mary and Molly is very similar names. so I looked the name Molly up and it is originally at petform of Mary. Since John Watson married a person named Mary in the books I find it hard to believe that the makers of Sherlock by coincidence choose the name Molly. I'm not really shipping anyone so I find that kind of interesting

  • @Mai93sol I know someone called Molly, turned out the other day that her real name was Mary. It is likely that she will end up with John, but I want her with Sherlock!

  • I'm not buying that John did not hear them. However, I did LOVE Molly for this! She's extremely perceptive. To be honest, I'm like this with my dad...I can always tell when something's wrong with him and tries to not tell me.

  • my favourite scene!

  • I love what Molly said to Sherlock. I was sobbing my eyes out.

  • More than with Irene, I wish Sherlock could go with Molly. If she told more often what she really thinks, they wouldd be a lovely couple =)

  • you remind me of my dad...he's rotting in his grave as we speak.

    how flattering LOL!

  • I think this can also be taken another way; what I thought originally: Molly might mean that her dad and Sherlock looked sad when they thought that no one noticed them, that they knew they were slipping away and people wouldn't realize.

  • Love it, but feel like talking about unspoken romance. XDD

  • BEST SCENE EVER.

  • I love how one of the cheeriest characters on the show automatically relates everything back to death unintentionally, like a reflex.

'You're a bit like my dad. He's dead.' 'I suppose I've seen worse, though I do do post mortems.' XD

  • I sobbed through this whole conversation, because I've always related to Sherlock a bit, in his mannerisms and personality, etc, but this conversation really stood out to me because I am exactly the same. I put on a brave face for everyone, but when I'm alone, I'm hurting, just like Sherlock... Sorry about this comment, just needed to say it for my own well-being.

  • @bekacullen i know exactly how u feel cause i do the same but i sometimes can relate to Molly as well cause i sometimes feel like " I don't count "

  • @bekacullen I completely agree, this scene is relevant to me as well.

  • @bekacullen I think everyone's sad when they're alone. Just some of us don't have to put on a brave face. Those of us that do get so used to it we forget that others are watching.

  • "You're a bit like my dad. He's dead."

Oh Molly. This line is hilarious!

  • Molly is really pretty here. :)

  • Is it just me or does Benedict/Sherlock look stunning in this scene? Not that he doesn't look good other times, but... Maybe it's the glow of the lab?

  • she's so awkward, but so sweet. who can not love molly?

  • I love how Molly stops obeying Sherlock here. I mean, I know I would be so intimidated by Sherlock that I would stop talking immediately if he told me to shut up. From the first episode, she does whatever he orders her to do, but now she's like "Dammit I will say what I'm gonna say and you will hear it!" and just continues on even as he's berating her. Well done Molly :)

  • That brief look (0:07) where so clearly she's either thinking, "God, give me strength" or "Bugger off, Sherlock". We need more sassy Molly.

  • I feel so bad for poor Molly! I mean, she's so sweet and pretty, yet the one man she loves treats her like dirt! Then again, Sherlock treats everyone like dirt...

  • Ugggg why clip not longer!

  • I think Molly is a great parallel for Sherlock.

The world doesn't understand Sherlock, and the things he understands, which is something Molly is rather accepting of, even admirable. And Sherlock doesn't understand Molly, and what SHE understands, which is - as is revealed here - Sherlock himself, and the things even he doesn't know about himself. Molly is rather like Sherlock in that she sees these things that other people might not notice, but it's more about emotions, things we try to hide.

  • Molly is comparing Sherlock to her father...methinks our little Molly is getting over Sherlock? I love Molly, I really do. She's so brilliant and lovely and she just makes me think that she understands Sherlock more than people give her credit. She's still very much a schoolgirl with a crush on him, but she's maturing and she realizes that he's not interested in her. I think she's going to become one of the strongest characters on this show. Or, at least, I hope because I'd love to see more.

  • Now she's matured... finally

  • we need more scenes like this, where we get into Sherlock's emotions....it's nice knowing that he's human after all! And an amazing one at that!

  • @zlatickoxt To me neither!!

  • @zlatickoxt He looks to John because Sherlock is trying to hide the 'I owe u' stuff from him. What starts Molly talking is that she notices Sherlock closed up about it the second John walked in. Molly asked and Sherlock didn't want John to hear, so he looks up to see where John is and if he is to close then tries to dismiss her and get her to be quiet about it. She is a bright cookie to pick up on that.

  • @Kayiko Makes sense, thanks! :)

  • "You look sad when you think he cant see you" I guess this line refers to john, As the camera pans to him and molly looks across. I think this is a clue to the final scene. Sherlock asks John not to take his eyes off him and then he starts to cry, which would be the first time john can see him sad. Which begs the question was John really looking at Sherlock? I mean Sherlocks been close to death many times and has never shown emotion about it....?

  • @LetMeFlyFreeFromYou I think he was, because he ran over when Sherlock jumped. But I think his death being faked definitely has something to do with Molly, or something he said to her, this conversation just seems too important to overlook... I'm sure it relates to when he asked her for help, because Sherlock NEVER does that. He never even asks John, so...

  • I love how hesitant he is to look at her after she said that.

  • i love this.

  • "You looks sad...when you think he can't see you." ;_;

  • I love the fact that, when Sherlock regards Molly, he realises that even he can be deduced and read, just like he reads others so easily.

  • Molly's speech is the most lovely in the ep.beautifully written &of course performed.Ignoring her timid hesitations Molly is determined to get her point across when she feels it's important &she does. The words are gorgeous.then later when Sherlock returns &says he is going to die-"What do you need." What do you need." Clear/Strong/No hesitation whatsoever.Sherlock, in his friends, is a very fortunate man. The look he gives her when she says she doesnt count-Ooo Yes you do Molly! <3

  • this scene is no beautifu!! :)

  • I love how I can find my favourite Sherlock scenes on your channel, and then the comment sections are a hive of activity and discussion <3

  • i love this scene. could you please upload all the other sherlock and molly scenes in this series? it would be really amazing! i love them together

  • Molly looks really beautiful in this scene :)

  • Molly is , or was, the most underated character of the series. I actually thought like Sherlock that she was just stupid, and wondered how she even got a job at the morgue in a hospital. This scene made me realise there was more to her, and that she has a sad family history, and I just love how she can see through Sherlock's stone cold heart, which was why she helped him fake his death.

  • @RANDOMFREAKSHOWCO When you saw this scene, did you (like me) felt so stupid not seeing she is one of the most wonderfull characters of this show ? I felt bad for a few day's not realizing that... I hope she gets a bigger role in the third serie !

  • @RANDOMFREAKSHOWCO SPOILERS!

  • @RANDOMFREAKSHOWCO it's brilliant too how both the masterminds - holmes and moriarty, totally both overlook her and take advantage of her; only Holmes realizes her worth in the end. When Moriarty threatens to have holmes' friends killed, he doesn't count molly among them - she doesnt "count." She definitly is underrated, both by fans and the characters on the show. I dunno how she factors into saving Sherlock, but she definitly did. If it wasn't for her, he'd be dead.

  • @RANDOMFREAKSHOWCO I keep reading that people think that Molly is stupid. How can she be? She is after all a pathologist. You can't be a blithering idiot with a phd. I think she is just painfully shy. All of the people around Sherlock are professionals only he thinks they are stupid.

  • do you think sherlock realizes here that there is a different kind of knowledge? a knowledge of the heart. i guess he's always thought molly was "stupid" but now he realizes that she understands things, that she understands him?

  • @TheTotallyCaptivated I think like, he puts on a brave face for John, cause he doesn't want John to worry over him.

  • @TheTotallyCaptivated What I love about it is it shows how much he cares for John and how he feels. Before, Sherlock didn't care about what others thought or felt which was why he was always rude to people, he didn't care. It shows that his "death" will hurt Sherlock almost as much as it hurts John. I like to imagine that being with John has made Sherlock more compassionate and understand.

  • Can someone explain what she implies when she says Sherlock only looks sad when John's not looking? I just can't truly understand.

  • "You look sad when you think he can't see you." Definitely one of my favourite scenes of the entire series.

  • Thanks so much for uploading this great scene! Go Molly!!
