Yea, everyone has to understand that there are different styles within the style of traditional grip. Different lines like it different ways. I have an instructor who likes the pinky finger curled back, and in another line I played with they didn't. It all depends.
yeah well his traditional grip is weird because one he is holding his middle finger out it is supposed to be resting on the index finger but not too tight so you have flexibility in the grip
not exactly, its really what your line requires.... back in the day(my bro marched at MSU in the early 2000s,) it used to be where the middle finger wasnt rested on the index finger but now days, i guess people have gotten lazier BUT thats because the rhythms have become more unique and fast and theres a need for relaxation in the left hand cuz most people arnt lefties
it looks awkward, but that's the correct way to play Traditional. Get an experienced drum teacher, as mine is, and you will see what REAL traditional is. It's what he's playing.
holy shit! nice fuckin job man! this is soo lined up and musically accurate! it's pretty crazy and impressive. hopefully everyone that's seen this video realizes how good it really is. this is definately some of the best youtube drumming out there. keep it up man!

what are you talking about. You can hear the pad.

I could be wrong, but from this angle it looks like your right wrist is locking up. Crank that sucker back and THEN let the arm come into play.

I agree, the only thing I see wrong technique-wise has to do with your right hand. It seems sometimes that you have an angle on the stick's rebound.

You're very good, man. Keep up the good work and dedication. ;D
