Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps the twelve time WORLD CHAMPIONS. I enjoy listening to the LSU drumline play the Bleu Raeders Drum Corps cadence. My argument is simply that your program OVER-utilizes to the point where (and like I said, this is just my opinion) its too "over the top." I am only stating that OSU is extremely good and LSU brags too much,when maybe they are just more entertaining.Ohio University is more entertaining than OSU or LSU. No offense to me? Its tired, outdated, and irrelevant to anything current. . We spent 3 days preparing for our national championship performances, including limited rehearsal time between a slew of pep rally appearances. Ohio states band worked on their stuff for around 2 weeks.

tiger band received the combined halftime show (horrible btw) music just a couple days before the performance. And as someone already mentioned. I'd rather have a few members carrying music then have a member get caught on national TV saying "What the f*** am I doing?"

shako is the hat, medallion, and plume combination with plume optional. look it up. spats are spats. spats and shako are old military terms. makes sense, since marching bands were originally military oriented (a tradition LSU Tiger Band still honors today with uniforms and some of its formations). The term shako goes all the way back to the Napoleonic wars. original shakos were tall and cylindrical, but they have developed to shorter styles over the years. never too late to set facts straight.

You are correct, everyone doesn't have their music memorized for the halftime show but the majority of the band does. Most of what you saw on tv was probably people holding the music for the combined half-time because we got that music on the 4th and did not play it again until the combined rehearsal so only a few people could memorize that. But if you are having to resort to memorization of music being the mark of the better band then that is quite pathetic.

Alright man, lets be honest. The biggest measure of the success of a college marching band is their interaction with the fans. That is the purpose of a college marching band. We can argue musicianship until we are blue in the face because there is really no evidence either of us can give that would prove either band has superior musicianship.

The buckeye turnout was much better than I expected which is a great testament to your fans. It kept it from being the home game we expected but it was better that way. The SEC championship was basically a home game for Tennessee and it wasn't a whole lot of fun. Our uniforms are a product of tradition and are very iconic around here. It took me some time to get used to them but once you understand the tradition they symbolize they grow on you. I understand your concern with them though.

Your fans cheer when you start pregame and then are bored for five minutes while watching the baton twirler lead a follow the leader in the "Incomparable Script Ohio." I cannot say for certain that Tiger Band does more for the fans than any band in the country because I have not seen all the bands in the country but we are definitely the best that I have seen.

The script Ohio song is a nice song for classically trained musicians like us but it was evident not only at the game but also at that stupid battle of the bands pep-rally that your fans don't appreciate it. Tiger Band can get a louder response from the first impact of the drums at pregame than Ohio state can at any point in their show. You are not a bad band, just boring as hell.
