You got the punch down. Too many modern blues guitarists got no punch or drive, but you've managed to capture it well. Haven't played this kind of blues for over 15 years myself, but it's what I started with when I began learning the guitar. I like Big Bill Broonsy's version of Sitting on Top of the World.
I was about to write:" you have an extra-ordinary right thumb" when you broke your string! lol hahhaha
there is a litlle "trick" for NEVER breaking a string no more!!!: wrap your string arround that "key-Thing" before you put the string into that hole the other end. You will NEVER break a string no more! try it!!!

I can tell you are used to busking by the way you thrash those strings. You'd hold your own in a barrelhouse with that technique.
