@soixe1997 I don't remember where I bought the Satanite, online somewhere... Make sure you let your mix dry on the blade overnight. I didn't do this and it cracked in the forge.
@soixe1997 If I remember well, it was cheap. If you try other types of clay, you might want to test it first on some high carbon steel before doing it on a real knife... Test with a file. The file should skip on the edge, but bite on the back...

so you but the blade in the clay, heat it up, then but it in transmission fluid, mmm does dark motor oil work ?

@lalachris1000 It should work fine too. I suggest heating it up to 140F before quenching.

The clay is Satanite, a refractory type cement you mix with a bit of water..
