You will always be hurt or rejected by the one you love the most in the world no matter how hard or how much you want their affection and you want them to appreciate yours.

When seen that way I am sure a lot of people will be able to relate to the little robot.

@TheBoredomOtaku Exactly what I thought. Falling in love with someone that is indifferent and won't give anything in return, no matter how much you give, and are willing to give, for that person. In the end, you suffer so much you wish you could die. I've been there recently, but I've moved on. It's painful, but what don't kill you make you stronger.

@Redbloodedsky I guess it's also just simply to do with innocence, the robot did not understand that the coffepot could not love him or why. As I said before he wanted to win her affection so much and for her to appreciate him but sadly his efforts where in vein and he could not understand why and therefore in order to try make sense of why she could not love him he believed it was his own fault.

Tis sad he simply couldn't see it the way the viewers might not realising she isn't alive.

I think the coffee pot was supposed to represent the uncaring nature of the world around us, and the robot was the 'everyman', or each of us as an individual... but then maybe that's just the way I am relating...

Another one could be that it follows the whole "nice guys finish last". Nice guys are always seen to be freindly yet never seen as anything more than that despite the hints they give or if they try really hard. thats another thing it could mean to me, others may feel differently but that what makes us all unique.
