He's making it worse by trying to bring the old times back or whatever, and embarrasing the pumpkins legacy by doing this I'm glad he's making music again but you can't replace Iha and Darcy. As much as he may not admit them two helped developed the music cause even when Jimmy was banned the albums were still pretty good.

Nathanielstarr, well some people may say adore is shit just becouse it's trendy. But music itself is subjective so I understand if is just the stuff that doesn't appeal to someone. I think it was better than some other records at that time, but still to me it was a lot lamer than some of the earlier works. =)
I really liked Adore. To Sheila, Ava Adore and Perfect are great songs. Most songwriters would give their left nut to write a song half as good as any of those. I know it's trendy to hate on that album but it still sold millions of copies and he will be playing songs off that album at the upcoming shows and those that are there will love it. Stick your subservient trendiness up your ass like what you want to like and admit that you like Adore. This new one also rocks.
Adore was a decent album. To Sheila, The Tale of Dusty &Pistol Pete, Annie-Dog, For Martha, and 17 were absolutely amazing. However, most of the rest of the songs were just okay, and Ava Adore was kind of bad. The entire album had a "we need filler" feel to it. Filler though it was, it was SP filler, which makes it a hell of a lot better than most bands best work.
The summation of this confusing and rambling comment: Adore was pretty cool; all the other albums were just a lot cooler.

Yeah I agree, its still the pumpkins,yes it would have been nice to see iha and darcy playing with then again but its better than nothing.Besides corgan wrote most of the songs from the start so Id seriously doubt that a change in the line up would be much different.
Plus, as much as I love D'Arcy, I think Ginger Reyes might be a better bassist. The only thing I'll really miss is Iha's acoustic stuff. He was very good at writing for and playing acoustic. Corgan's more of an electric kind of guy. We'll see what what's-his-name can do.
Instead of arguing about what constitutes the band, I'd like to know about the album name. I recognized the word Zeitgeist from the indie film distributor, then I came across the upcoming documentary "Zeitgeist" on youtube and elsewhere. I've taken politics as a hobby over the last year and wonder if theres any connection between the album name and one of these other references.

Amen too!! I love Billy and James's tandem. They were the original and only members, who stayed in the band (1988-2000). They complement each other Although James is my favorite, I still love Billy and The Smashing Pumpkins!! I'm glad I get to relive the band of my youth!! WB Pumpkins!! Astig sila!! Salamat!!

You probably would also say that Maynard James Keenan is a dick as well? Not to point anything out, except what kind of person you are. Funny thing to me is, that I've never read any interview where Corgan has stated things about anything else than music. And what comes about him being a controlling - well surely - SP was mostly HIS BAND.

so, it was a rumor i heard years ago that this girl (d'arcy if i'm not mistake)was a big cocaine fan and also die before a show in france or somewhere there in europe (maybe year 1995 or something) Now, i can't identify in this video if she's still playing with this guys or this girl is the 'A Perfect Circle' bass girl (whom also play in another band which name i don´t remember).

Nathanielstarr, well some people may say adore is shit just becouse it's trendy. But music itself is subjective so I understand if is just the stuff that doesn't appeal to someone. I think it was better than some other records at that time, but still to me it was a lot lamer than some of the earlier works. =)

I really liked Adore. To Sheila, Ava Adore and Perfect are great songs. Most songwriters would give their left nut to write a song half as good as any of those. I know it's trendy to hate on that album but it still sold millions of copies and he will be playing songs off that album at the upcoming shows and those that are there will love it. Stick your subservient trendiness up your ass like what you want to like and admit that you like Adore. This new one also rocks.

Adore was a decent album. To Sheila, The Tale of Dusty &Pistol Pete, Annie-Dog, For Martha, and 17 were absolutely amazing. However, most of the rest of the songs were just okay, and Ava Adore was kind of bad. The entire album had a "we need filler" feel to it. Filler though it was, it was SP filler, which makes it a hell of a lot better than most bands best work.
The summation of this confusing and rambling comment: Adore was pretty cool; all the other albums were just a lot cooler.

the first album i got was siamese dream, and i never really listened to it from start to finish, just on shuffle with the rest of my albums on itunes and ipod etc. but when i listened to it the whole way through, i thought FUCK, THIS ALBUM IS THE SHIT!!

Yeah I agree, its still the pumpkins,yes it would have been nice to see iha and darcy playing with then again but its better than nothing.Besides corgan wrote most of the songs from the start so Id seriously doubt that a change in the line up would be much different.

Plus, as much as I love D'Arcy, I think Ginger Reyes might be a better bassist. The only thing I'll really miss is Iha's acoustic stuff. He was very good at writing for and playing acoustic. Corgan's more of an electric kind of guy. We'll see what what's-his-name can do.

Instead of arguing about what constitutes the band, I'd like to know about the album name. I recognized the word Zeitgeist from the indie film distributor, then I came across the upcoming documentary "Zeitgeist" on youtube and elsewhere. I've taken politics as a hobby over the last year and wonder if theres any connection between the album name and one of these other references.
