I love this video! It's people like you who make my job great. I love being a firefighter and responding to a house fire then being told by the home owner that their self-refilled fire extinguisher didn't work. Not only do I get to see them in pain, but I also get to watch as everything they own go up in smoke. If you do this I hope you lose everything, maybe then you'll understand the importance of following instructions. They're not on them for show people.
You are so irresponsable. First, I can tell you have no knowledge of what you are doing. Yiur fire marshall would love to get a hold of you. And to everyone alse, NO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. Extinguishers can not be serviced by anyone without the proper knowledge. This guy has made so many mistakes.
YOU ARE A IDIOT!!!!!!!! First off it is HIGHLY ILLEGAL in ALL 50 STATES to refill a extinguisher with ANYTHING other than what is on the label. Your OWN words state that your chemical is VERY dangerous but you blow spillage from your funnell with a air compressor blower even thou you used baking soda it still gives someone the WRONG way on how to deal with the real chemical. Let the professionals fill fire extinguishers and you keep the ER's busy with all your knowledge
@ramzee2007 You can hear the air stop going in it. Also the gauge will move into the "full" or green area. The compressor should be charged to no more than 150 PSI.
The extinguisher was originally filled with Sodium Bi-Carbonate Phosphate, which was not the original powder that you dumped out. Sodium Bi-carbonate Phosphate dust is so fine it spreads like crazy through the air when you spill a tiny drop. IDK what you just dumped out. Flour?
@bigbadklev It's not illegal, you just aren't supposed to
and the only difference between refillable and disposable is refillable is a bit sturdier, and the nozzle screws off for the presurizing head, and the guage is marked in PSI and KPA aswell as green/red
Question, how much psi could this be filled with...I am planning on using a fire extinguisher as an air tank to honk some train horns of mine. So in this vid it looks like it only lasts like 4 secs but I know other people who use fire extingushers can last about 10 - 15 secs. Any ideas?
@npadul30 Make the nozzle smaller with a reducer such as a plastic ring that fits into the nozzle make sure the reducer is secured strongly. If you make the hole about half the original size it will take much longer for it to release the air yet it will retain a considerable amount of volume released.
OK people who are freaking out saying it wont work, it does!!!! I tryed it and it worked. I had the same extunguisher only it was white not red, and it only put out B and C fires.... so yah...
JESUS CHRIST PEOPLE!! iv refilled that damn fire extinguisher countless times and nerver had a problem!!! its been in my closet, fully functional as a REAL fire extinguisher for over 7 months!!! its still fully charged and safe for use. i dont want to hear anymore comments on how this video is stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a joke. If you're not using a properly licensed company - your insurance is not going to cover you if a fire happens. This video is bull sh!t! Plus, that white gauge means it's a DISPOSABLE extinguisher - you're not supposed to recharge it you dumb as$!
@firebaby2011 first of all. fuck you. second of all, you can recharge the extinguisher as long as you dont over-pressurize it, and you check for any damage. so your the dumbass you fucking dipshit!!!!!
The name of the video should have been " How to make a Thunder Gun"

Actually, the chemical powder that is used for ABC extinguishers is mono-ammonium phosphate, not aluminum nitrate.
