  • thank you Souness for selling Beardsley... how stupid!

  • That counter-attack at 5:44 is insane, and barnes was clearly on side too. How good are the Glazers too, talk about karma.

  • The speed of those passes are insane

  • where did it all go wrong for liverpool? i try tell my nephew that liverpool used to have a good team but he doesnt beleive me.

  • Was there for this. How the fuck we got beat four nothing still amazes me.

    Champ19ns.

  • John Barnes must have been one of the worlds best players of his generation. Superb strength and technique.

  • barnes was great!!

  • Liverpool's "CANDY" uniforms.

    Worst. Jersey. Ever.

  • Always thought Webb played for man u

  • Funny to think back then more than 20 years ago, United were no more than average team, what date was this game?

  • @MeBenHalpin Similar to the modern day Liverpool team.

  • @Sunstroker In that respect yes, modern day Liverpool team via Gerrard,Suarez,Reina and maybe one or two others, are like an average team now, kind of trying build from scratch like United were here 20 years ago.

  • remember this well, sad aswell as 1990/91 was end of era aswell.

  • Barnes...what a player !!!

  • @inchaoswetrust Agreed he was like magician in that Liverpool midfield John Barnes, everytime he got the ball, you just knew he would produce that bit of magic.

  • This is the team Fergie bought to win the league in 93. He spent alot of money just like Chelsea and Man city. It's the only way to have success..........Liverpool dominated by buying the best in the 70's.

  • @jbcaballerotalentoso is not the only way to have success...look at Barcelona and their youth system

  • @inchaoswetrust Are you serious....... Alves 24m Cesc 30m Villa 30m ibrahimovic 50m Mascherano 24m Sanchez 23m Ronaldinho 20 odd million......and there are more.

  • I love that each time Barnes is booed, he does something magic. Strangely, the booing has stopped by 3-0...

  • blue devils

  • I often used to think what would have happened if Kenny dalglish wold have stopped as Liverpool manager in 91, would he have been able to keep liverpool at the top? its something we will never no but i dont think he would have done what Souness did and change the entire squad in 6 months it took years to sort his mess out..

  • Football is shit now compared to then.

  • Barnes was never off side 5:55

  • Barnes was never off side 5:55

  • Who is L'pools Number 10?

  • Why they used to pronounce Hysen as Hussein I'll never know.

  • whooopa that was some performance. if kenny can get the team playin like that the only way is up. YNWA

  • Great game and great memories......weakest link in Utd: Les Sealy.

weakest link in Liverpool: David Burrows...

  • ha ha dirty mancs !!!!!!

  • Brian Moore's voice makes me feel 7 years old

  • wasnt there a backpass around 9:07 lol? keeper picks it up?

  • @camsilsby That's what I thought too... does anyone know if Rush ever ended up scoring against United? Amazing pass and move football

  • @greengineerg

seem to remember him scoring against them when Leeds won the league. 1992? I think Barnes and Whelan had just come back from long layoffs. That win handed leeds the title.

  • @camsilsby didn't use to be illegal. Liverpool were the kings of timewasting, passing the ball back to Ray Clemence back in the day

  • SHell-suits at 1:43 hehehe

  • @joleeeeeene 11

  • Up until this year, the last Liverpool player to score a hat-trick against Man United was ex Man United player Peter Beardsley. He made on appearance for United in 1983, Big fat Ron let him go because he thought Norman Whiteside was a better player, Ferguson tried to sign him for 3 million in 1987.

  • @alslevie1986 Whiteside was good, but had that bad injury. Never knew that though

  • Liverpool showed the beauty of pass and move!!!

  • what a match ;P it seem like this this was a match where you sit with your heart in your throat... liverpool won fair and square, BUT mufc sure was unlucky

  • im utd but that scum team were brilliant. Im just delighted fergi has turned the tables. scum fans can sing all the munich songs they want and utd will pile up the league titles. 19 and counting you animals

  • 19

  • @GeoffSkates The number of times United touched the ball against Barca in the final?

  • shocking man united team

  • fernando torres was here...

  • mark robins was one hell of a nasty and spiteful player, typical man u/fa style.Amen.Best team I've ever seen in English football,Liverpool I mean, they played with honour, dignity and class without the disgusting arrogance/thuggery of the present man u/fa.Pity that Liverpool team was banned from Europe, could have won more European cups but would have been tough as Milan with Gullitt were also awesome.

  • Barnes was booed by all fans for his england preformances, then he use to come back home to anfield and let his feet do the talking, this vid sould be called the John Barnes Show

    LFC lifer

  • @NajYash Let's not forget that part of the abuse meted out to him was racist. I remember mancs referring to our success in 1988 being tainted by having a black in our team.

  • Look at the crowd. Nylon ... tracksuits ... everywhere.

ManU's jersey looks like something they give patients to wear in hospital.

  • Who was the Black armbands for?

  • @BlackMountainScar I think the black armbands were for David Longhurst. He died after suffering a heart attack during a game for York against Lincoln the previous week. He was just 25.

  • @chesneyincognito Thanks for that chesney.. BTW some cracking vids you have there..

  • Why was Barnes getting booed?

  • Thats briliant performance by the reds. Some pass and move moments that even todays Barcelona would be proud of. If Kenny succeds to introduce this movement next year we will rock the EPL. YNWA

  • they should have won 8-0 by the way they played !!!!

  • barnes would get into any team these days even barca wen he was at his best, quite simply the most underated player that this country has ever seen. prob in the top 5 best lfc players of all time in my opinion...

  • i was there.. i was only 9 but i can still remember it...

  • Steve McMahon... macca.... Lol..

    @mondaynightverdict

  • Howard Webb nearly scoring against Liverpool there at 2:19

  • why are people not comparing todays Barcelona to the Liverpool of the 80's? Absolute brilliant passing football.

  • 5:44 beautiful fluid counter, i think dalglish is going to want to introduce that into LFC today. we've seen it against fulham, this is the start of a new era for Liverpool!

  • Deluded

    19 Times MUFC

  • @cajjer

  • @EZdrifter21 I hope so:) LFC fotboll back than is fully actuall today, Some part are simular to that fotboll Barca plays today, i think.

  • @Mercelot pass and move innit?

  • New partnership is about to start at ANFIELD in less than 30 hours. Partnership between Gerrard, Kuyt, Suarez & Carroll

  • @TheAnirs75 Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Enrique, Lucas, Adam, Gerrard, Downing, Suarez, Carroll...... is it wrong to cream my pants? :D

  • 3:45 lovely work from McMahon there

  • I missed the glory days of liverpool. But the King is back and he is bringing the league home!.

  • I have that Liverpool top. Been offered 100 bucks for it on the spot before, but I'm not giving it away!

  • you look back at this game with liverpool having barnes, rush and beardsley as forwards, and united with mark robins, and it becomes clear why they werent winning the league!

  • great performance by the reds , there that day , les sealey booted the ball in the kop on the final whistle . barnes got stick off the mancs cos of a poor world cup for england , ripped them apart that day tho .

  • Btw: Does anyone have Liverpool's title-winning 1-2 at OT in March 1990?

  • Unbelievable offside decision at 5:55, NEVER offside even in 1990!

  • Great vid. You can see from this that the standard of football dropped as it went further into the 90's
