  • what wood? There is a brown leather chair with wood trim...and in the far back, some wooden window blinds that is barely visible!

    You can install and take of the back to any 5 string banjo..even his

  • Hey Weltar, the wood at the back is called a resonator. It's called so because it helps the banjo "resonate" and projects the sound forward making the banjo louder and sharper. Most bluegrass banjo players prefer the resonator for the Bluegrass sound, and clawhammer/frailing players prefer open backs (non-resonator) for their more mellow, plunky tone.
