I'm pretty sure in one episode she mentions that she doesn't drink because she knows a lot of people in her family are alcoholics and she doesn't want to develop a problem. She may have been joking though. Maybe she just doesn't want the extra calories.

Yes, there are antioxidants in red wine that are actually good for your heart. That doesn't mean there aren't calories in wine, though. Of course there are. There's calories in all alcohol, whether wine, champagne, beer, vodka, or anything else.

That said, there are calories in anything! But the calorie content in say champagne, wine, vodka is nothing compare to the calorie content in beer because of the fermentation process...
