It's great that you made the fire, and i use matches most of the time too. However, I think it would be more appropriate to use a flint to demonstrate how to light one in a survival situation. I don't even have any videos posted though, so I can't really bag on yours. Cool video!

OK Ive lit a lot a fires but a few years ago an old native man saw me building a teepee like this one and he said WHO ARE YOU JOHN WAYNE? USE A LOG CABIN, WORKS EVERY TIME EH? and man was he fucking right! you need better wood and more skill to make the teepee work every time...so dont listen to this guy his fire is way too complicated..

How do i do it? you cant beat splitting small pine or spruce logs into 1/8 pieces into a log cabin and fill that with birch bark - birch after if its not rotten

YES it's almost the same thing but he has a very informative video showing the different steps to actually start building a fire. Kindling materials, small twigs on top, then fuel/logs. There are layers to a fire and although it may seem like common sense to some, there are individuals who have no idea how to even begin building a fire. So yes this video is great and DOES NOT deserve a dislike.

The best way is to gather some small 2 - 4 inch sticks, very thin, and lay them down in a pile on top of your tinder. The flame will travel upwards from the tinder and will ignite the sticks. The teepee method is not good because once the little sticks burn out the teepee can collapse because there is no support, however, once the sticks catch on fire in my method, you just add a little bigger sticks in and it will catch on fire.
