See, Amber Benson's voice was beautiful, and we've known since he did a bit of Freebird that Anthony Steward Head could sing heavenly. And here we have (in my opinion) the absolute best singers in the entire show, working together on a supremely sad song, one discovering her loved one (Willow) has betrayed her, one realizing he has to betray his loved one (Buffy) to save her from herself.

@Ghostlyghostgamer And I was pleased (yet not really surprised) to see that the TV Tropes site included this song as an example in their Dark Reprise entry. This song really made an impact with viewers, in part because of its addition to the story and in part because Amber's part and Anthony's part, though quite different, come together in a wonderful display of harmony. It all leaves me feeling really bad for Tara and Giles alike.

@BloodyBay Totally. I've memorized both of their parts entirely by accident and find myself singing Amber's part way more frequently then i'd like to admit. I would sing Anthony's part, but my voice is better for Amber's part =P I get shivers every time Anthony butts into Amber's part because it's just perfectly in line with both of the songs they already had, and it's so dramatic, which is what actors should be good at. Wonder if Joss asked for amazing singers in the casting call...
