Evil Dead 2:Dead by Dawn: half and half comedy horror, not so much, but a little was added.
Evil Dead 3: Army Of darkness: Was pretty much all thriller and comedy, the film wasn't bad at all, in fact, I still think the third one was the best of them all, it's just it departed away from the direction that it started from, which was the gore and horror that made it great.

They made bad remakes for classics like Texas chainsaw massacre, Friday the 13th, Halloween, and A Nightmare on Elm street and now this. When are they going to learn that 90% of horror remakes are shit of the original's shoes.

(Scream came out in 1996, almost 20 years ago; you can hardly call it new.) I'd put torture porn as the new horror but even that started 10 years ago. Horror films of today are usually supernatural/unseen monster/ psuedo-cerebral B.S. But Scream and Final Destination? Blood and Booty all the way.

old movie trailers have no progression or point to them....just random clips which is waht makes them great...compared to todays formula i.e. comedy movie: play corny catchy ironic song while announcer talks in sing song voice then (record scratch) music stops and actor says funniest line in the movie. or Action movie: crescendo slowly builds then BOOM music stops actor says line, and then release screen, and then one final clip of something scary or some self righteous "bad-ass" line
oh yeah, the classic terror is better of all times, cause you have, dawn of the dead, elm, evil dead, chucky, friday 13, the exorsist, hellraiser, etc.
Every October, I watch the Evil Dead Series, Return of the Living Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Exorcist, Friday the 13th 1-4, Romero's Dead series, and Lucio Fulci's Zombie 2. They just go so well together. The 70s-early 80s were the best era for horror, without a doubt.
@taterboob You can say that again. The 70's - 80's were classic for their horror movies. Evil Dead series became pure classic of Comedy/Horror genre. Bruce Campbell did a great job. You can find many hilarious, entertaining and even shocking scenes. The 80's made awesome comedy/horror films like Evil Dead 1 and 2, House 1 and 2, Elvira Mistress of the Dark etc

@TheCMH357 in my opinion, whoever was "in charge of" or "responsible" for the zombie/demon sound effects did a HECK OF A JOB-despite the then-current technology being so "primitive."
@cacaman3000 its because the other 3 people refused to do the sequel, they barely even agreed to finish the first because everyone was getting hurt and they didnt think it was worth it, so they had to recreate the first movie in kinda like a recap thing, and i guess since the other people didnt want to be in itm they just cut them out all together, this happens with ED II and AoD :)
i thot they just copped out cuz they wanted more money to do the sequel without those other people. Just think, they coulda been icons like bruce campell lol

Also if they call this misogynistic, Us males could call Hostel 2 as misogynistic towards males, because a female cuts off the penis and genetals of a male in the movie, but we just scwirmed a little and carried on enjoying the movie. It isn't misogynistic at all, live with it. And i understand not all women are this pathetic, in fact only a very small percentage are.

he was just finding his badassery in this one, it was like a right of passage :-)
even though campbell admitted no. 2 was more of a remake i like to ignore the first 10 minutes of the second and treat them as consectutive movies.

cuz like the second movie starts off by sort of retelling the first movie
but it ignores that everyone else was there and says that only linda was there
then all of a sudden it picks up right where the first movie left off...confusing...

@cacaman3000 its because the other 3 people refused to do the sequel, they barely even agreed to finish the first because everyone was getting hurt and they didnt think it was worth it, so they had to recreate the first movie in kinda like a recap thing, and i guess since the other people didnt want to be in itm they just cut them out all together, this happens with ED II and AoD :)

@cacaman3000 haha yeah i read his auto-bio and he said that one of them is a car dealer now, the other teaches i think, one's a stay at home mom, and not sure bout the other one lol
i was like dang brutal, cause they all got kicked out of the union for doing a film without the unions approval, so i guess they kinda blamed sam and bruce for that haha

@abbazabbajuice The first one is more horror, Evil Dead 2 is horror/comedy. But both of them are absolute masterpieces. And 2 is a continuation(the next day) of the 1st.

It's a disgrace my friend. The second they think they can, they jump on the bandwaggon to try and protect themselves, when there is absolutely nothing wrong with what they just saw.
No disrespect to any women, But they are usually looked upon as the weaker gender, It is unlikely the tree scene would of had as much impact if they'd have used Bruce Campbell or the other male actor. It seems like more of a threat if it's a women there, because we as males, tend to feel more sorry for them.

Also if they call this misogynistic, Us males could call Hostel 2 as misogynistic towards males, because a female cuts off the penis and genetals of a male in the movie, but we just scwirmed a little and carried on enjoying the movie. It isn't misogynistic at all, live with it. And i understand not all women are this pathetic, in fact only a very small percentage are.
