ah yes, I knew this sounded so familiar....I was an avid reader of Bruce Larsen, Keith Miller, Robert Raines -- the "relational theology" claimed by the "lay renewal" movement in the 70's. if i may posit the obvious: Christianity is about journey and wrestling as opposed to transformation and trying to find the 'right answer'.
not to be facetious, because i can sympathise with a certain percentage of what rollins is saying here, but that sounds like a stab at a 'right answer' (albeit ecclesiological and theo-methodological) to me.
If this stuff means anything at all, it should and must transform us. We might not agree about exactly what that transformation will look like, but at the very least we'll all need to behave as though what we do, say and think are of immense importance, and that God can be found within all of us. If we are all reflections of each other and God, I think a little transformation from society's current state might not be such a bad thing.
