You can equip abilities to characters at the town which is the first scene of this movie.
Characters are possible to fly from the start, but if you make abilities of flying and equip that to your character, they can fly higher and higher.
The combo can put out when the decided button is operated.
I couldn't understand what you mean exactly.
So probably it's not good answer for your question, sorry;(

Go search on Gamefaqs and there is a FAQ for the demo of the game with translated abilities and stuff (in order too)
And Gamerabbit's english is ok ^_^
