I love those brillant 6L80E 6 speed automatics. offer the shifting performance of a proper drag automatic yet they´re offering high top speeds so this car will also see a highway with no trouble. amazing car. would run way faster if the first gear was geared a little longer. at first it spun its tires slightly on the launch (at least it looked like it) and right then the driver had to shift already. with a longer first gear - they´d solve this launch+low end acceleration issue and lower the ET

@ilovebreck Actually they have gotten into the 9's with an LS3! However they are probably not gonna stop there and aluminum blocks of almost any kind will be able to handle extreme boost pressure like na cast iron block will. So that's more than likely why they chose it.
Love it bro, I've always been a huge camaro fan and would love a 69 rs/ss but I currently own a 91rs that Im doing a 350 conversion to. However I like the new 5th gen but it didnt have the sound of a muscle car so it was hard for me to classify it so. Especially with its slightly softer look from the retro 1st gen. But yours is worthy of being called a muscle car and it doesnt just sound like it can run fast it actually does....so Ford and Dodge guys eat your hearts out.
@frankie122 motor trend ran a 12.9 on street tires on normal asphault when comparing it against the 2010GT500..the 2010 and 11 SS's do for a fact run 12's stock...they have 100hp more than 98-2002 camaro SS's wich run the average of low 13's but with a good driver and drag radials there has been MANY of them hitting as low as 12.7 with them...and 12.9's being very common...now maybe the reports u have seen of the 2010 SS's not running 12's have been cause unfavorable track conditions or driver

@RidX4Ricers i got a 4L60E automatic that has been built and it shifts hard and furious there is zero time between shifts like there was before it was built...and my 3000 TCI stall converter gets me off the line in a hurry....i have noticed ..especially with 03-04 Termi cobras ...they will be right beside me off the line alot of the time...then shifting into 2nd ..they drop back behind me..stock for stock of the same car a manual is a lil faster due to gearing
@ilovechevy1 I wanna make a drag car I can still drive on the street which is one reason I want a manual, undecided what to build, tempted to go with a fox mustang simply because they weigh next to nothing and you can get one for $1500 and go from there, but theres a nice LS1 Z28 I've been looking at, not sure where to start so I'm gonna work on my Jeep for now.

Honestly this video makes the car builders look bad, a pro charged 427 did that? Its not slow, but cmon, look up the HPE or LPE packages, they can be put into a stock Camaro for a price at the dealership and the numbers equal the horsepower put down, like lets say, the LPE950, puts down 950 horsepower. I'd like to see one of those on a drag strip.
@DystruktoBoi1 The LSX is still a way better engine to build on. The stock engine is plenty good enough to build on for the street. the HPE 550 used the stock motor with some boost, tune made 550 hp and like 500 ft lbs of torque at 2500 RPM.
@2008cobra1 its not true its OPINION assbarf. and there is LT1 powered F body camaros that run into the nines that have a stock block stuffed with forged internals and doesnt take 20 psi of boost to do it either.
@2008cobra1 thats becease that motor is designed from shelby with forged internals for boost. if you went mod for mod with the two cars setting the camoro up for boost with internals designed for high compression the mustang would lose everytime. Simply cause the camaro has more displacement which makes a higher flat torque curve.
@tankerspanker yes it can, they run 11s and with slicks and suspension then thats good for high nines... the new 5.0 runs tens with a 5L and little engine mods

@10spokess I know of very few Ford Car Enthusiasts that "Hate" chevy. That would be especially foolish being that the new cars are modeled after the originals, and If I remember correctly, they were both designed by the same Japanese guy back in the 60's, as were many popular cars between the big 3, often had managers and engineers drift between them.

@edmundnlemadim well i thought it was this one but its the Lenginfelter thats in the 8's they use a ls9 with spray. but i get what your saying its pretty pathetic the new camaro's are not made for the strip unless you have tons of money. That same setup in a 93-02 f-body would be in the 8's. I want a c6z sooo bad but i guess i will stick with GTO's and fbodies for awhile lol. The ONLY mustang i have respect for is the 03/04 cobras they are legit badass cars

Honestly this video makes the car builders look bad, a pro charged 427 did that? Its not slow, but cmon, look up the HPE or LPE packages, they can be put into a stock Camaro for a price at the dealership and the numbers equal the horsepower put down, like lets say, the LPE950, puts down 950 horsepower. I'd like to see one of those on a drag strip.

@DystruktoBoi1 The LSX is still a way better engine to build on. The stock engine is plenty good enough to build on for the street. the HPE 550 used the stock motor with some boost, tune made 550 hp and like 500 ft lbs of torque at 2500 RPM.

@2008cobra1 thats becease that motor is designed from shelby with forged internals for boost. if you went mod for mod with the two cars setting the camoro up for boost with internals designed for high compression the mustang would lose everytime. Simply cause the camaro has more displacement which makes a higher flat torque curve.

@lynne8383 More than "bolt ons" really..that 5.0 was trapping nearly 140 mph which is like 30 mph faster than stock. The Camaro didn't need a built motor but this one happens to have one.
