I am 47 years now. Lots of reminiscences about new order and the records for me too. They were my secret passion in the 80's at a time when me and my friends were listening to hardcore, including Crass and Black Flag etc. But hey, I am still listening to New Order but not any hardcore. Finally, I love that some of the comments are still racist. It is quite embarrassing. But there were some fascist overtones to New Order at least initially or was it paranoia in the name.
i also enjoy masturbating to this andthe song "tom violence" by sonic youth. makes me feel like a "real man". wish my dad could see me but he died in iraq. i miss you daddy.......... mom isnt the same anymore...
@MrCains820 I am now 40 yrs of age......still love this great work of music. Not just this track.....everything they produced. And its intelligent, hardcore, and heavy all at the same time.

This song reminds me of why postpunk owned: It was art-rock that owned the underground and sometimes worked its way up from dorm room boomboxes and clubs onto the radio or into soundtracks or whatever. Like none of the pretense of The-Strokes-or-Whatever-is-Trendy-in-Williamsburg-Right-Now, and all the kickass-ness of something like LCD Soundsystem. Yeah, I said it. LCD was the new century's New Order.

One great song from one of the most influential albums ever made, New Order forever!!..... love the "main keyboard thing", proto-techno, or postpuink dance...whatever you want call it :D
I wouldnt get too hung up on what it is about. The big mystery about New Order is that there is no mystery. Benny effectively sang a load of crap. But it sounded great :)
