Wrong. In Formula 1 they used 3litre V12's in the 70's and 80's (until turbos took over). Ferrari used a 3,5 litre V12 in the 1994 Formula 1 car.

Heck, in sportscar racing there were plenty of 3 litre V12's in the 70's, 80's and 90's.

@adguerra9 Yeah. But did you know that there are infact 2 more models of it? And since it is not the GT or the SS, then it's the Dauer EB 110 model. 139 (140 incl. prototype) were built.

The "EB" stands for Ettore Bugatti (the guy who made the company). The first Bugattis ever created, had a hood ornament that his brother created - the elephant. Bugatti is now, just like the Lambo's owned by Volkswagen Group.. This is more than most people ever knew.

PEOPLE! Ettore Bugatti was Italian, but founded the company in Molsheim, Alsace, France. The company closed after World War II. Italian Romano Artioli got the name in 1987, along with Lotus later in 1993, and made this car, the EB110 and the first Lotus Elise. Bugatti went bust in 1995 and in 1998 VW bought it. Lotus was sold to Proton Cars in 1996. And the Veyron project was started by VW immediately after the bought the company.

The EB110 had their monocoques designed and built by Aérospatiale in Toulouse,France. Final assembly then took place in Campogalliano, Italy. I don't know how a complete chassis built and designed in France can make it 100% Italian

As for the Veyron. The tires are designed by Michelin(French),the gearbox by Ricardo (a British company), the 4 wheel drive developed by Haldex Traction (a Swedish company), the car was designed by Josef Kaban, a Slovakian. 100% German??

He didn't design a single bolt on the Lotus Elise. The Elise was an all-Lotus design, and the only thing provided by Romano Artioli was his grandaughter's name Elisa. Neither did GM ever design a single Lotus car, nor Proton who own Lotus now.

Opel later based their Speedster on the Elise, as did the Tesla electric sports car.

Romano Artioli spent recklessly and not enough people ordered the EB110 car, so his company went out of business. VW bought the rights to the name in 1998.

Bugatti is now owned by VW. The EB110 came out at a very bad time. When it went into production it was the fastest and most expensive car produced. Then Mclaren came out with the F1. Not to mention there was a recession going on and the sale of exotics took a huge hit. Similar things happened to the Jaguar XJ220.

Many people think that the McLaren F1 was (also not a Ferrari) but when testing the SS they made a mistake. Later they tested the only blue EB100SS and it did 382 km/u on a tested speedo.
