  • In the begining of Joscho's solo the rhythm guitar player is giggling! Priceless.

  • 3 people are jealous as hell.

  • These guys are ridiculous.

  • "So what do you want to do when you grow up?"

"Play like Herman Li on the Mandolin, what else would I do?"

  • ACE

  • Cigano GJ15.. Projects like crazy. That and Josh Pinkham, DANG!

  • have you got the tab for this:)? LOL. Still playing brilliantly and just needs Tommy in the mix too:)

  • Errr....why is this the first time that I see and hear this? Could someone please give these guys some worldwide ackowledgement that they kick some serious ass? ?Like.....right now or something? Awesome stuff........I'm gonna play the vid again now, for a bunch of times, ok?

  • josh pinkham tends to make my jaw drop quite often lol.....

  • Anybody who goes to a CAAS Convention knows who they ALL are. All of you oughta go to one!!!

  • Whoa, didn't know Jack Black can play gypsy jazz as well.

  • SLICK!!

  • I like how half way through Joscho's solo, they have to bend down just to see wtf he's playing. Good god that guy's dexterous, not to mention Pinkham did unspeakable things to that mandolin.

  • This is the best advertisement that Cigano (Gitane-Saga) could have ever wished for!

  • i guess korsokov was a real inspiration for chet

  • the frank vignola quintet is proof that true music is alive in this lady ga ga world

there is only one of each of us made in the universe

but these guys are made with just something extra special

    peace,rich

  • Jesus, that guy on the mandolin was absolutely out of this word! It's only a shame we couldn't hear him slightly better. :(

  • Wow! That was hot!

  • Who is the rhythm player?

  • @frogslips The Rhythm Player is Vinnie Ranielo from NYC. He's as good as any of em up there.

  • no guitar player alive could take a run at Joscho........period.

  • Joscho is amazing. And to the guy talking shit about kurt cobain, it's his use of guitar in his overall compositions/final products and how they were obvious raw visions of his soul that made him great. they were also very poppy in alot of cases, he was a great pop musician/composer

  • How old is the mandolin player? Fak...

  • Joscho got a Particle Collider for the right hand.

  • anybody know if there is another aud source to remaster this with ? this is sweeeet!

  • I didn't know that was possible on a mandolin o___O

  • anyone can tell me a name of the song?

  • @r0kas sorry, found it :D Fly Swatter

  • oh my holy freakin shit... it's insane :)

  • Vinnie Raniolo on the Rhythm/ lead at 3:45. What a nice bunch o' plunkin!

  • This is most outrageous. Funny, the two crazy players have (nearly) the same names: Joscho and Josh. I wish I could play both guitar and mandolin like this. Simply awesome!

  • I think that Joscho seems intimidated by young Josh.

  • I'm sorry, but that kid is one of the sickest mandolin players I have ever heard.

  • BURNING lick at 1:36!

  • And getting out of the lick in a good way is much more demanding than the lick itself

  • joscho!

  • Holy crap!

  • So sick!!!!!

  • I was sitting next to the guy that filmed this in Nashville at the CAAS convention. This was about an hour after Joscho had met Frank for the first time.

Besides the chord structure and main Fly melody, it's all improve.

  • Amazing. Check out Joscho's pinky. Impressive.

  • this is not mambo,

this is Gypsy jazz what so ever.

    check:

    angelo debare

    stochelo rosenberg

    bireli lagrene

    dorado Schmidt.

  • I don't know, that mando player is nasty; but to say Chris who?

  • Chris who!?

  • Who's the kid on mandolin? Man, what a picker?

  • Just in case you didnt find out its Josh Pinkham.

  • Now this is some sick playing. This is like cancer fighting with ebola inside a leper's appendix. Like really sick.

    That's a compliment. :)

  • I don't know if I like you.

  • I don't know if I like me either.

  • And Guitar Mags always have Kurt Cobain in the top ten best guitar players...were are they sending their reporters?

Imagine walking into this room and seeing this I bet have the audience didn't know who these guys were and left with shit in their pants

  • Oh yeah, and Josh Pinkham is a madman

  • Joscho totally belongs in this band

  • He would make Frank and the rhythm player redundant.

  • I love the look on Joscho's face just before he starts his solo. 'Huh? What? Oh, right.' And then it sounds AMAZING

  • well seen, and this shows more than anything else joscho's natural talent.....

  • A banquet for lions!!!

  • Brilliant playing all around. I'm currently taking applied guitar lessons at SUNY Plattsburgh and I'm hoping to eventually reach this level of playing ability. Much respect to all of you.

  • Yes you can NOT. :-)

  • well that depends on how much you practice... I've been playing for 7 months and i can play clapton, beatles, chuck berry.... not just smells like teen spirit or the shit you usually play at that time... it comes from practicing a couple of hours every day. any guy can make it if they practice...

  • Practice, practice, practice, so you have to practice no more-

    Mozart

I study the Psychology of expertise, and am also a guitar player...with enough devotion you can be this good in your own right... : ) keep it up!!!

  • Sweeeet.

  • HOLY TITS.

  • Joscho's playing style gets its signals from the otherside of the Universe.

  • More like gypsy caravan, circa 1930's Paris, meets otherside of the Universe!

    :)

  • How Old is the kid on the mandolin?

  • Comment removed

  • @Patbrennan123456 When this was shot, he was 17-18. He started playing when he was about 12. Not bad for 5 years.

  • awesome man!!!!!

  • who the hell is that on the man mandolin. he's the best mandolin player I've ever seen. That wholething was amazing.

  • His name is Josh Pinkham. Great musicians always bring out the best in each other. I hope we'll be seeing a lot more from Josh in the future.

    Aloha from Hawaii

    Thomas

  • man he's in control

    awesome player

  • man he's in control

    awesome player

  • I hope i can be that good one day.

  • lovin the kid that rocks the electric mandolin like that, but of course EVERYONE in that is freaking amazing

  • Sounds amazing!

  • I love at 1:25, where Joscho's hand is moving so fast it looks like it's standing still. What great players! Thanks for the video!

  • no winners in this non competition ...except if you count the listeners!

  • is the mandolin player the kid from nickle creek by any chance?

  • Nope. His name is Josh Pinkham, from Tampa, Florida.

  • The whole thing was just great! all yum yum I founded.

Joscho is so real in the reality and one can never compare with those other unreal great guitar players I have seen b4, Ithink!!! :P

Hahaha I enjoy his playing all time and admire enormous! Shine on Joscho and the rest too.

  • god damn it.... that s realy good

  • I like J stephan. he has great execution & tone, but lagrene is absolutely fearless. He takes chances, all the time, every time. Conceptually, and musically, he's on a whole nother level, one that trancends genre. He grabs your attention, and doesnt let go. He owns the listener like few before him, or since.

  • I agree. Let Joscho grow though and we will be delighted by his playing more than we are today.Bireli has more experience and is unique.

  • yeah, that's true, but Joscho is still no slouch and always fun to hear. Have you checked out his mini lessons? Very informative.

  • That is a serious bit of mando-joscho the king at the minute-Birelli amazingly has been overtaken by this guy.And I thought that would be impossible!

  • I agree, Joscho in my opinion has taken Bireli's crown, although not enough people have heard him.

  • @thomashoffman HAHAHA "joscho has taken bireli's crown" HAHAHA. Well, Joscho is fast OK.

  • That was a great few days in Nashville. Franks rocks as well. Joscho is cool and really hip, but when you listen to him year after year, he doesn't really develop much musically, though I'd love to be able to play just like that even if that's all I could do!

  • i like watching joscho stephan play rhythm, the guy strums faster than god.

  • Damn it.......

  • who is the mandolin player?

  • Tout est dit !! Formidable, incroyable, démentiel, bref... MONTRUEUX !!!!

  • who the FUCK is the mando player omg

  • josh pinkham. he's incredible, isn't he.

  • @tsbrandon yeah, right - man - the mando player plays the wrong instrument- howsoever - hmmm

  • Impresionante Joscho Stephan Super

  • Absolutely incredible. Joscho just blows them away...

  • Dear god... Django would be proud.

Joscho is an unstoppable guitarist, his fire and passion not to mention precision and note choice are incomparable.

Dude on mondolin was the shizz too.

  • joscho is going to be better and better every second he takes his guitar in hand. what a virtuose unbelievable

  • brilliant!!!

  • I love Joscho!! He is so inspiring.

  • Did you all see the video of Tommy playing with Joscho?... or maybe you were actually there. I was about an hour too late so I missed it. and I don't really think tommy and Joscho playing together could be a bad thing.

  • Hey Thomas,,, nice vid. Wasn't it amazing hearing those guys all week?..

  • yes it was, yes it was.

  • waw

  • i didn't mean to delete that comment about the mandolinist, sorry. but his name is josh pinkham, and he's only 18 years old! his solos were on fire.

  • Glad to see he isnt really playing with Tommy Emanuel anymore...cuz if he had continued to play with him he would have sucked more and more each day lol

  • seriously? tommy emmanuel is, well, really good, to say the least.

  • i sorta know what he means. tommy e. is indeed very good but, can be a little self indulgent. it seems like every song he plays is an encore at 3:30am, and is the most dramatic and important song ever. it's a little too much for me.

  • LOL we share the same interest in music. 9 out of 10 vids i watch i notice you posted a comment. But leave that poor Tommy alone :-) In his own right he has done some nice things. Of course he's not a gypsy jazz player. Then again i guess Joscho learned from him, and mostly about stage act. Joscho's concerts are joyful and entertaining.

  • amazing job...Great playing...he makes that guitar sound excelent

I like joscho Stephane more and more every day
