  • one man in old dress

  • Princess Di is wearing a new dress...

  • There's just NO comparison between lyrics quality from back then to now.

  • Droga Sonica =)

  • Best Industrial song !

  • one of their most socialcritical songs

  • Saw the news cover everything about the royal wedding and immediately thought of this song.

  • Foreclosures at an all time high,

    Nuke disaster ruins lives,

    Promised changes filled with lies,

Princess Kate is wearing a new dress,

  • I wonder if DM is going to make an update version of this song with the lyrics going..."Princess Kate is wearing a new dress."

  • The Royal Wedding, people and the upcoming election in Canada. History repeateth itself and nothing changes

  • @aViewwithaRoom

It is the exact reason I searched for this one today.

Every single word could stay the same, except for Di, that should be replaced by Kate.

    Creepy !

  • @aViewwithaRoom "There is nothing new under the sun, every day is a new day under the sun"

  • The beginning of their very best period .... !!!

Black Celebration, Music for the Masses, (101), Violator and Songs of faith & Devotion.

  • Everytime the news mentions the Japan disaster I think of this song. The world cares more about what Princess DI would have thought of her kids wedding.

  • Evertime the news mentions the Japan disaster I think of this song.

  • I harkened back to this song when I noticed that yahoo news' top stories no longer concern a tsunami that killed several thousand people and left thousands more homeless, but rather stories about Jeremy Renner, Serena Williams, celebrity hairstyles, and Justin Bieber's girlfriend. Such frightening truth in this song.

  • theological* and I seem to agree with Sw1tchback

  • Seems to me that quite a lot of people here are missing the point of this song. Surely it's about the negative influence of the media not a theoligiacl diatribe... like to hear what you think.

  • Just like if I hear the daily news. Great!

  • ‎... and when you change the Votes - you may change the world.

Take a Chance on March 27th 2011 in Baden Württemberg and on March 20th, 2011 in Sachsen Anhalt. The Generation in Black will say Thank You! We are fucked up for 30 years now and enough is enough for now!

  • This song is full of pownage. When will the world wake up and give itself an enema.

  • Now this song WILL SAY

    Famine horror millions die

    Earthquake terror figures rise

PRINCESS KATE IS WEARING A NEW DRESS

what a bunch of shallow people those parasites Queens and Kings from Great Britain

  • PRINCESS DI IS WEARING A NEW DRESS!!!!

  • great

  • Way ahead of its time.

  • This is simply about the media. I really can't believe anybody could think otherwise.

  • he sings like Claude S. from Anything Box in this one!

  • No nothing to do with religion - not really to do with respecting beliefs. This is about journalism and how the media can manipulate the masses.

  • Honestly...I don' t think this has anything to do with religion.I think it talks about different disasters around the world and how, some people are helping those places with the disasters or something like that.but what I do know is that if one person can change one fact...then in the long run,it'll make a large difference.Change the world is the message.Let's change it for the better shall we?

  • This is one of my favourites from the album <3

  • I love the music of Depeche Mode, up to and including this the Black Celebration album. I had always heard, until just now, the lyrics as a condemnation of the fluffy news pieces they air on television while serious stuff is going on. And that may partially be the case. But now I hear a ringing endorsement of the Progressive movement...

    Change the Facts???

  • Religion? Someone dear talk religion in 21st century? What is it old man? Religion? I can't fathom it. What is it? Is that something about keeping people under control? I don't like that...

  • The best DM album ever. Thumbs up on hands and feet! :) Best sounding, best lyrics. Cheers all!

  • Why Is It In Almost All Depeche Mode Videos ON Youtube There's Always An Arguement About Religion -___-

  • I confess that when I first heard this song, I didn't really like (which was unusual, since I love most of DM's songs!)

But after a few listens, I love it! :D

  • FUCK RELIGIONS and ENJOY DEPECHE MODE

  • @alanwilder81 Depeche Mode are actually kinda a religion band. Think about it...Songs of Faith and Devotion, especially.

  • @joseitsme o_O This doesn't mean anything, it could perfectly be ironic or some sort of taunting.

  • I always wonder why that song wasn't played at her funeral... ;-)

  • You think you can ignore religion in times like these? Do you think the people around you believe that there is an invisible man among you? How can you say,"Fuck off."? Are we like the Ostrich with our heads in the sand? Who goes out to vote? Who are these Tea party people? Shall we forget all of it? Can we survive the next 200 years? Is apostasy the answer? Don't play it off like it's something to shrug off of your shoulders. It is reality and it's around us everyday. Does that not scare you?

  • my favorite depeche mode song

  • Always loved this song.

  • Fuck off with your religious debates, just enjoy the overall meaning of the song. No one wants to hear how one person's beliefs are "right" and the other's are wrong.

  • Rules Depeche Mode

    Poland, Wrocław always DM

  • @Sw1tchback I, Atheist, say to you, AMEN!!! Well said, Sw1tchback! This song is not a platform for theological debate. It's a piece of art about the difference in perspective between the rich and poor. It's about economics, politics, and the distractive mechanism of gossip media.

  • how come songs aren't written with lyrics like this depeche track anymore.

"shorty is an eenie meenie minie mo lovah" repeat 30x. FUCK.

its as repetitious as the teletubies...are they shooting for a new demographic....4months - 2 years? damn!

  • you dont change the world,

    ...you can the facts.

    when you change the facts,

    ...you change points view.

    you change points of view,

    ...you may change a vote.

    when you change a vote

    ...YOU MAY CHANGE THE WORLD!

  • @TRaddcliff It's sarcasm love.

  • How about,"Easy on the bible thumping"! Follow your lying, pathetic martyr, good for war god with a lower case g. Jesus' church will go the way of a fable and the Greek myths. That is hope for humanity, not going down on my knees and begging as if Jesus' was a pimp and I'm nothing without him. I am something without Jesus and the Vatican will be destroyed as well. Arrest the Pope and all his minions for the torment they've caused innocent children. The future is now.

  • GREAT! Black Celebration is probably the best album.

  • Great song! We can change the world! These God fearing Christians, Muslims, and Jews can all move on with the times. We can change the vote! We can change the world! Marijuana legal in California! Let's do it people.! Screw the Feds. It's not slavery.

  • @Placidfaced

    i am a christian, but i`m not a "God fearing"; i`m a God loving.

    many blesses.

p.s. too much marijuana will harm you. it took me 5 month to be freed from it and i almost killed myself because of the depresion i was having by not having it.

try to live without: you cannot!...even if you say "i quit whenever i want, but i don`t want to because i like it"

  • @777cata I'm like you. A Christian that's loves God. There's no reason to fear Him! :-) "Nothing to fear"!

  • @LadyDoOrDie

    Nothing to fear for christians.

  • @777cata No. I'm just sad that so many don't belive in God. They call christians stupid, ignorant and other "nice" word of abuse. Well, we might see one day who was ignorant!

  • @LadyDoOrDie

remember that before being saved we were like them. No blame to the people who does not know Jesus. Just love them like Jesus loves us.

    many blesses.

  • @Placidfaced Easy on the jazz tobacco...;-)

I wonder if they got bad consciense when Diana died? Not that I blame them for making this song, it's very good and it has a real message that's worth considering.

And, as always, it takes me back to my youth!

PS! Placidface: I'm a Christian, what's wrong with that?

  • Fav DM song of ALL TIME

  • The best of their Album. It brings me to a Time where i life in. Critical and have the Melody from the DEEP Synthie Revolution. This is poor Depeche Mode from their best time. I get down on my Knees. Thank you for this Song...........

  • i never gave this album a chance.

wow...this tune is amazing. ive latched onto this album.

    thanks for posting this.

  • One of my favorite songs by DM

  • princess di :>
