i have this phone now for almost 2 years and my screen is broken :(

Typing is really easy as its got an on screen qwerty.

re the apps - it supports java so there's no reason why there won't be any third party ones, but i don't think there will be as many as there are for symbian, iphone or windows phones

hi caesarjoerulers, No, there's no handwriting recognition on the Arena, but to be honest, i've never found it that great anyway, the full qwerty keyboard is defiantely the best way to enter text.

@caesarjoerulers @Mobilefuntv - there's handwriting recognition on the lg arena. when composing your message, just click on the little up-arrow right above the letters while on numpad mode then click on the pencil symbol to launch the handwriting recognition feature

Is this fun really worth buying? I need a new phone should I but this or should I wait for the new Nokia Smart phone which resembles the SE Xperia?

Its worth buying just for the Dolby effect lol,but ya its a good phone ,im just having hickups with it because of carfone whorehouse and o2 not having the settings from LG yet...other than that its a great phone and feals real good quality also.

I just got told by 02 that the settings are not avialable for this phone yet and that carphonewearhouse should not have sold the phone yet because of this,after asking the carphone wearhouse about this the guy startedshouting on the phone then said oh just piss off! to me! and slammed the phone down.

the latest software version is 10i for generic handsets, do you know what version you're running?

Seems the problem was o2 have not even got this model registered on the servers yer and thats why my online shit never worked...should be up soon,As for the vid problem i guess its just dodgy firmware as another video worked sound only and buggy picture,after conversion with DIVX. deff needs a FW update.

I dont want to send it back as i like it im just effing mad i cant get my new gear working. I cant even find any pre installed movie clips or anything to do with the dolby so any help will be great.

OK, Just heard back, we don't think games will work as the phone has a different operating system as well as different screen size. so looks like you'll have to get them for the arena specifically. If you do find that they work let me know

I will make a video and post it in the evening,if the Viewty games work I will show them working also. I like the FM transmitter so you can play music on any radio.I wonder if we get to put themes on it as this needed to be done with a hack on the viewty,

I was really impressed by it - I'm an iPhone fan, so takes a lot to impress me, but the size and quality of this one is great. Games on the viewty are Java based, so in theory there is no reason why they wouldn't work - although the screen being a higher resolution and different dimensions might make them appear a bit funny. This is a massive improvement on the viewty, you'll like it.

What do you think of the Arena now you got your hands on it? I was pleased to hear it had a solid screen unlike the Viewty.
