Another example of misguided acts by government officials is how everyone used to be required to swear on the Bible to tell the whole truth, or when taking an oath of office. That isn't done anymore, not because of protests by atheists, but because true Christians objected to it. We as Christians are not supposed to make oaths, by God, on the Bible, or by anything holy. God's Word in Scripture commands this.
These latter day attempts by government officials to close things down on Sundays is a bit ignorant and misguided IMO. People who are ignorant of what God really commands of us versus man-made legalism. Consider also that the apostle Paul lived as a Christian even while being a citizen of a despotic paganistic empire that persecuted Christians. He did not advocate overthrow of the government or not paying taxes, but exhorted Christians to be good citizens regardless of what sort of ruler.
Constantine wanted everyone in his empire to worship on the same day so he made "Sun-day" which up until then had been the day to worship the Unconquered Sun also the day for the Christians to worship their God.

Sunday observance is a tradition of men, not a command of God. God commands us to keep holy the SABBATH. Sunday worship was actually instituted by the Catholic Church in the 300's AD in conjuction with a sun worship day (get it??? "Sun-day"???). Constantine was a Sun-worshipper who only late in life became a Christian and was baptized on his deathbed. The traditional Jewish sabbath was on Saturday, the last day of the week, and actually began at sundown on Friday evening.

I attend a seventh day adventist church and this is the major point where we disagree. revelation 13:15-17 makes NO indication of Rest and worship on Sunday. I agree with MOSt of thier Prophecy but this one makes no sense. I am not agaisnt the Sabbath, I believe we should keep it, however this is unrelated to it. I think that we should look at the legs and feet of the image in Daniel. The feet partly have the iron of the legs which is the iron of Rome. Rome became pagan from papal and enforced its laws from 538-1798. Are we looking at the image?

There are more laws but it is a branch off from the 10 commandments. They aren't separate laws just as there is no other law from love because the 10 commandments branches off from love (Rom 13:9-10)

Keeping the Sabbath goes way beyond attending church. You see this is the mistake many make. It is a day where we are devoting out time to God. Where there is no distractions of the world.
The question would be to you, is spending time with God, works?
Who obeyed God and received the blessing, Cain or Abel?

I sense much hatred in your comment. Be very careful how you call people fools. Matthew 5:22 says "but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire." The apostle Paul says himself that he is no longer a question of days of observation. The blessing of the Sabbath we get by Jesus. The seal of God, Scripture says that the Holy Spirit and not observing the Sabbath.

The apostles themselves had solved the problem at the Council of Jerusalem (see Acts 15). The Judeo-Christians wanted to impose their practice of law to the Gentiles. To which Paul opposed. The same problem with the Galatians.
The interpretation that the mark of the beast is Sunday observance is completely wrong. Several historical documents demonstrate beyond any doubt that the early Christians kept Sunday. Another example of misguided acts by government officials is how everyone used to be required to swear on the Bible to tell the whole truth, or when taking an oath of office. People who are ignorant of what God really commands of us versus man-made legalism. Consider also that the apostle Paul lived as a Christian even while being a citizen of a despotic paganistic empire that persecuted Christians. He did not advocate overthrow of the government or not paying taxes, but exhorted Christians to be good citizens regardless of what sort of ruler.

Constantine wanted everyone in his empire to worship on the same day so he made "Sun-day" which up until then had been the day to worship the Unconquered Sun also the day for the Christians to worship their God.

Sunday observance is a tradition of men, not a command of God. God commands us to keep holy the SABBATH. Sunday worship was actually instituted by the Catholic Church in the 300's AD in conjuction with a sun worship day (get it??? "Sun-day"???). Constantine was a Sun-worshipper who only late in life became a Christian and was baptized on his deathbed. The traditional Jewish sabbath was on Saturday, the last day of the week, and actually began at sundown on Friday evening.

Col 2 is talking of the HANDwritings (vrs 14) which were in the ceremonials sabbaths, hence we don't see new moons, feast days, holy days etc in the 10 commandments
Romans 14 is talking about the ceremonial days and the days which were the issue of fastings.
Especially verse 1 of Romans 14 the context is DOUBTFUL disputations. Keeping God's law is not doubtful. The 7thday is not doubtful

It says the mark of the beast is a number of a man 666 and he will cause non believers of Jesus Christ to accept it. You are being deceive by your leaders. I think that it is asinine, that this is a topic of discussion. One; because we should worship and praise God EVERYDAY. Two; God made it very clear in the NT, that if someone regards a day holy (and sets that day unto God) let him do so.* Loosely translated here* Or if someone doesn't eat a certain food (again, unto God) then to let him be. I would encourage everyone (including myself) to forget this Sunday nonsense, and worship God, in spirit & truth everyday because He is worthy! Amen!!!

If you are referring to the Sabbath, as a Holy day, set apart unto God for rest and remembrence. Commandment #4, I believe & acknowledge what God has commanded. Just as I attempt to obey all the other laws of God, because I love Him. If you are talking/meaning something else, by all means, i'm all ears. One of the things about keeping the Sabbath is like you are preparing for Heaven. You are entering into a time blessed, sanctified and made Holy by God to enter into. Sure worship God every day but everyday is not holy blessed and sanctified. We work throughout the week but Sabbath is no work because you want to enter an experience with God

I agree, with what you have said. I have recently taken Hebrew 101, taught by a Messanic Rabbi. The things I have learned about the language and it's meaning....for lack of a better usage of words....has opened up scripture to such a deeper understanding of God's word. Kind of like, when God gives you revelation on a scripture. Your comment reminds me of that, because it's so much more deeper than just the seventh day. There is so much to learn & understand, and so little time.

No, it's actually pretty easy. The only things that throw me 4 a loop, is changing a word when a man is present in a room. Then changing the form of a sentence, if it ends with a certain letter. Hopefully, one day Rabbi will teach me what each letter means. I find that fascinating. You can take the word Shalom (for example), which means hello, goodbye & peace.... & every Hebrew letter that forms the word, has a meaning. This class, is the one they teach to Jews returning 2 Israel

Jhn 14:15 means that if you love God, the result is keeping His commandments. the same way that if I love my wife, I will not go after other women. Love is the fulfilling of the law so if love is in my, I will not want to commit things that put Christ on the cross.

I attend a seventh day adventist church and this is the major point where we disagree. revelation 13:15-17 makes NO indication of Rest and worship on Sunday. I agree with MOSt of thier Prophecy but this one makes no sense. I am not agaisnt the Sabbath, I believe we should keep it, however this is unrelated to it. Show me 1 verse to prove it to me, This is just one doctrine so I won't suprress it, so long as it doesn't rely on an assumption based on synonyms

That is not supported, could the mark/seal not simply symbolize the point where you are sealed with God and will stay with him, or the point where you are aligned with Satan and won't join God? Also, even IF there was a Sunday law couldn't SDA just worship on Sabbath and Sunday? how is forcing people to take a day off and maybe attend church going to make them follow Satan? It sounds silly.

Basically the world is going to get in such a state that people believe that the judgement of God are hitting the Earth. The reason is because we are neglecting Sunday. This was said about the Tsunami. A Catholic priest said breaking "Sunday Sabbath" caused Tsunami?!

There are more laws but it is a branch off from the 10 commandments. They aren't separate laws just as there is no other law from love because the 10 commandments branches off from love (Rom 13:9-10)
Every law can be answered from the 10'C.
The Bible calls the 10 commandments the whole Law - James 2:10-12

Remember that in Rev 12:17, the dragon is wroth at the church that keeps his commandments and holds to the testimonies. Satan is very wroth at this church because of the truth it holds to the world so when we see a lot of accusation and attacks, it is already prophesied so we should not expect them to be welcoming. But in Rev 18:1-4 some people will come out of Babylon so don't let it get to you.

Their answers will shock you and horrify you! The truth and reality is that Adventists believe that Sunday Keeping Christians who love Jesus and have faith in Jesus will be rejected by God and lost because they don't perform Sabbath works, and will receive the Mark of the Beast.

I used to be an Adventist for years,but I resigned my membership because I realised I was lost in Babylon (legalism), and relied on my Sabbath works to save me.
I can prove that Adventist trust on their Sabbath works for salvation with a single question:
If you stopped attending Church service on Sabbath, and instead began attending Church service on Sundays, can you still be saved and still avoid receiving the Mark of the Beast? Y/N?
Your answer will prove you rely on Sabbath works.

2. The commandment says Remember the Sabbath to keep it Holy. It does not say Remember the Sabbath by attending church service to keep it Holy.
Keeping the Sabbath goes way beyond attending church. You see this is the mistake many make. It is a day where we are devoting out time to God. Where there is no distractions of the world.
The question would be to you, is spending time with God, works?

My friend, you should never ever rely on the law to say you because one, you can't keep it and two, it is self righteousness, keeping the law of God by works.
The result should ALWAYS be, "if you love me keep my commandments" Jn 14:15. When you learn that, the law of God should not be a problem to keep because it is Christ dwelling in you through not committing sin that put Him on the cross.

SDA are the biggest CULT I've ever seen! I sense much hatred in your comment. Be very careful how you call people fools. Matthew 5:22 says "but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire." If you really think SDA people are wrong then simply share your thoughts in a loving manner and pray for those you think are wrong.

The apostle Paul says himself that he is no longer a question of days of observation. The blessing of the Sabbath we get by Jesus. The seal of God, Scripture says that the Holy Spirit and not observing the Sabbath.

In the old covenant, the Sabbath was a day of blessing, meeting, worship, rest, sanctification, a memorial to both the creation and liberation from Egypt. Under the new alliance is made in the heart of man all that this day represented. With Jesus, comes the true Sabbath, the eternal day where he does all this in faith. In Jesus, the true Sabbath is taking shape and no longer lives one day to keep him as we enter eternal rest. Rest represented and announced by the Sabbath.

Matt 25 The apostle John says that the commandments of God are BELIEVE IN JESUS AND LOVE OUR NEXT. 1 Jn 3: 23 Jesus himself said this: "Keep MY Commandments (Entol) as I have kept my Father's commandments (nomos). He never says keep the commandments of my father as I have kept.

White taught that there was no more salvation for sinners after Oct. 22, 1844. That would include present-day Adventists. Your own cult religion has pegged you as one of the damned.
