  • I'm about to get this DVD....I'm soooooo a fan of Gambale....y'all...what's ur recommendation....a good bye ot not!?

  • have someone tabs thank you...

  • Its crazy, In 10 minutes this guy blew my mind with the possibilities of chord tones and helped me drastically improve my improvising.

  • i wish he was my teacher

  • Yes, a Yamaha - knob head and doesn't it sound the bollox?! Frank played Yammys for years just as brilliantly as any of his Ibanez or Carvin guitars. He can make ANY guitar sound just the way he wants. Yamaha make some very good guitars. Don't knock 'em till you try 'em.

  • A fucking Yamaha????????????

  • uncle fester!!!!

  • @catapei haha!!!

  • He's not just a Great teacher he's also a very Cute teacher.

  • What a great teacher.

  • what about the 11? is the 11 allways a sharp one through the chords or only # on the major?

  • lol @ 'super locrian'

  • 1 uuuh 2(weird lisp sound) uuhhh 1 23 ROFL...whats the point in counting like that?he sounds retarded

  • Uff men. This is a great Lesson.

Thank you very much! Do you know where I can get the full lesson.

  • Great Frank Gambale!!!!!

  • uncle fester

  • Do you have the booklet for this?

  • 7:56 "its gonna sound slightly out of key, and it is slightly out of key but its a great sound"

one of the best advices ive ever heard about playing, go gambale

  • lol I have the SAME strap on my guitar right now. Planet Wave

  • When i was a jazz improv student the targeting of thirds and sevenths was one of the first things we practiced, in particular the third to seventh resolution from chord to chord.

  • @hummarstra hello, been lookiong everywhere but how do i find the 3rds and 7ths on any chord, say i was playing a 2 5 1 in c???? this would really help me :)

  • @mitchellism search internet for "scale/chord theory"

  • @mitchellism Its actually really easy. For instance, your 2nd chord is the D-minor chord, since the progression is a 2,5,1, so now think what note is the 3rd and 7th of the D-minor chord? Well if you think the 3rd is the F note and the 7th is the C, since the 8th note is an octave and is the D note. Now do the same for the 5th chord in the C major scale. The fifth of C major is the G note. If the progression is only major/minor chords no 7ths, than the fifth chord is Gmaj chord.

  • @MrRuggo Damn, just typed the whole comment and than pressed backspace, threw me one page back. Anyway, the 3rd of the G major chord is B and 7th is an F. Learn your scale diagrams.Someone correct me if Im wrong.

  • @MrRuggo 7th of G major is F# dude, learn your scale diagrams..

  • @RedDragon52 First thing, change your attitude, cause you are/were being a prick. Secondly, the major G chord is the fifth chord in the major C scale. Since the C major scales G mode is G mixolydian, it has the minor 7th and it also contains the same notes as the C-major scale, therefore no F#. But you can try to play f# over this progression and hear if the note fits. ;)

  • 08:35 - So you get that... sound!

  • Great Video's!, Do you have this Dvd as a torrent, or .rar?

I would Really Appreciate it! Thanks!

  • Gambale....you are the man jjejeje

    great lesson

  • thanks Frank. an poster.

  • I didn't know Butterbean played guitar, and is a monster on it at that!

Frank is one of the greatest MUSICIANS ever. Very underrated, but let's leave him that way otherwise he'll be as commercialized as John Mayer.

  • @Lydianshadow butterbean...nice

  • Frank is one hell of a teacher! He shares so much in his DVDs, and you can take it from there and combine it with other ideas.

  • I'm definitely gonna buy this DVD too!

Thanks Frank, you're a giant indeed.

  • Great video!!! , thanks my friend to upload it . Please, would you share the pdf book with the exercises?.

  • this was like, super interesting. the melody based on targeting 9ths sounded so awesome and unpredictable.

  • microphone is directly in front of his hand so its hard to see exactly what hes strumming

  • Gambale reminds me a bit "Hanibal Lecther" :).
