Waste produced by nuclear fission is very minimal compared to fossil fuels. No greenhouse gases, no environmental impact of any kind aside from the need of a storage site for the spent fuel rods. And even those can be reprocessed and used again.

Actual, it would be almost impossible to run our country on wind and solar power. The best way would be to continue using nuclear power, while putting as much money as possible into fusion energy research at the new research facility in Europe that has been plagued not by technical problems, but by financial problems. If fusion was made efficient, the world would never have to worry about energy again.

even though Barack Obama is my choice for president and i agree with him on all issues, you have to realize that nuclear energey is a safe way to produce energy, you just need more money to research better maintence. you cannot rely on one energy source, one that relies on nature which is unpredictable, and invest in all new kinds of energy, dont be like the people who rely on coal and oil, rely on all types of energy

I don't think just anything that criticizes and opponent counts as 'smear'. Smear would be things like personal stuff - like the things people say about Palin's family or corruption charges (Obama has said families are 'out of bounds'), or lies that have been told about Obama's religion and so on. But this ad talks about McCain's votes on real issues. I think that's fair game.
