@XdmanmanTV Dude, I'm a Boy Scout too. But World War 1 obviously was about 100 years ago, and politics is different. No doubt that the boy scouts of America is a great leadership organization, but it's also a right wing political one as well. So before you start calling people fags, maybe you should wake up and realize that the world we live in is based mostly on politics.
@TheBoyscout80 ah and of course the average ignorant American that seems to see a certain way, but gives no intellectual reasons to back it up. Sad. And I notice your a boy scout? Yep, thats really being a boy scout dude. Telling random people on the internet to fuck off...
Alright people. You know why Obama didn't go in the first place? Because the boy scouts is a right-wing organization, and most in the BSA are right wing. Therefore, he would've been booed either way. This dumbass up here in 2005 destroyed this country
THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH FOR FREEING MILLIONS OF MUSLIMS FROM BRUTAL TYRANNY; FOR SAVING MILLIONS OF MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN FROM HIV/AIDS IN AFRICA; FOR PRODUCING OVER A MILLION AMERICAN JOBS IN THE WAKE OF THE WORST TERROR ATTACK EVER; FOR PROTECTING AMERICA AND HER ALLIES AFTER 9/11 AND FOR MANY YEARS TO COME; AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...THANK YOU FOR NEVER EVER PASSING THE BUCK OR USING RACISM, CLASS WARFARE OR JUST OUTRIGHT LYING TO EXCUSE LOUSEY DECISIONS. YOUR LEADERSHIP IS SORELY MISSED.
@Kujo757 i was there in 2010, and im dissapointed, but id rather have Bush than Obama, plus i'm glad we booed obama, a man who decides to ditch the Boy Scouts of America to go be the first President to be on a talk show with 5 other women talking about things that will only be important or popluar for a limited time deserves to get booed.
@salbella50 Shutup. Boy scouts are what built the morals of the country when morals were very low during world war one. Being a boy scout helped mold my future and for the better. It also tought me that I could achieve what i thought was not acheivable. So by all means dont butcher the boy scouts of america. FAG!
@jbbrake You are missing one important thing. Congress could pull the troops from Iraq at any time if they saw fit. You can't just blame Bush. You have to blame Congress also.
@TheMr1234na I believe the Prez is commander-in-chief of the military. At least that's what I understood during my 32 years in the USAR. The chain of command (a series of pictures posted in most Army HQs) did not show a picture of Congress above the President. Was the US Army missing something?
@jbbrake Although the President is the Commander in Chief, his power is limited by the War Powers Resolution. The Resolution says that within 48 hrs. of sending in troops the President must report to Congress explaining his actions. The commitment must end within 60 days unless Congress agrees to a longer period. Congress may end commitment at any time by signing a concurrent resolution. But remember a formal Declaration of War must be issued by congress. The last war was WW II.
I wish I could have been at this Jamboree. It would have been so cool to see George Bush. I probably would have teared up a little.
I did go to the Jamboree this year, but I didn't get to have the opportunity to tell my friends that I saw the President live. I do wish Obama would have been there, it would have meant a lot. I don't think it is right to bash him quite so much though.
Really it all comes to show where each presidents priorities are. If one chooses to reward and encourage an organization that has long taught honor, integrity and honesty, while the other chooses to go on a show to try to save the public view of him, then one has to wonder where each mans priorities and values lie.
@erickskaka Wake Up!!! Our youth is more important than MONEY! I pray that rate basterd dont make another term. God save us all. The only change I have seen Is less in my bank account.
2 minutes ago And YES, I do miss you, President Bush. You and Mrs. Bush are a class act. You took your responsibilities seriously. You never took advantage of your status. I am sure the Boys Scouts appreciated your presence at their Jamboree, and SHAME on you President Obama for feeling you needed to be at FUNDRAISERS and on THE VIEW, instead of making a traditional appearance at the Jamboree!

I know people are mad at Obama for not showing up and everyone says he is horrible, but everyone said the same thing about Bush to. I see it as America has not had good president in awhile. We need a new FDR to come save the day.
@timin770 We love America, we just don't agree with the satanic screw everyone over greedy portions of capitalism. If you'd like to have a real debate, we can.
@TigersPops There is no workable definition for the word "greed." People have been trying to define "greed" for years with no success. The word is simply a weapon used by politicians and the leftists to foment class hatred .. nothing more.
@timin770 If you look at American tax code over the last 100 years, you would see that we have drastically changed our tax codes, under the guise of "pro business", to bring ourselves to a crippling budget deficit and an inability to maintain basic infrastructural needs. I actually love America, and am tired of you all ruining it, so we're taking it back. Remember that America is a democracy first, we allow capitalism as long as it fits within the country's agreed upon ideals.
@timin770 "excessive" can be defined as "more than the necessary amount." now we must define "necessary amount." we can define it as "the minimum level required to meet one's basic needs (food, shelter, water, and clothing)." anything more is a luxury good.
now we can put it all together: Greed is the desire to obtain an amount of wealth or goods that exceeds the minimum level required to meet one's basic needs of foot, shelter, water, and clothing. that definition works.
@IRA166 "...amount of wealth or goods that exceeds the minimum level..."
So I could go out and buy a candy bar and that would make me greedy? You're a lunatic and your definition DOES NOT work. Your stupid definition includes damn near everybody on the planet. Light up a cigarette and you're greedy. Have a soda or beer and you're greedy. Nah, you're gonna have to do better than that.
@timin770 if u choose to buy cigarettes instead of donating that money to an org that would use it to vaccinate a kid n africa from diseases then u r choosing to meet your luxury desires at the expense of the kid's basic needs. yes, this definition includes pretty much everybody on earth including me. it works, the result is just that almost everyone is greedy, because we all want to live above the minimum. once everybody's basic needs r met u can satisfy your luxury desires, otherwise ur greedy
@IRA166 then you'll have to excuse my family. we chose to give each kid their own bedroom instead of all piling into one room. wow, I feel so GREEDY LOL. You can sleep out in the yard if you like.
@IRA166 epic fail for you trying to define 'greed'. If you say it applies to almost everybody on the planet, then your definition is diluted to the point of being meaningless. Get back to me if you ever come up with a workable definition. Take all the time you need ;-)
@timin770 in a simplified form my definition looks like this: greed is wanting more than one needs. the fact that it includes almost everyone doesn't mean it isn't true and it doesn't mean it doesn't function to define greed. if you took all the ppl on earth and determined that 99% want more than they need, then it isn't meaningless to say that 99% of ppl are greedy. im not saying its good or bad, but most ppl want more than they need, and that is exactly what greed is
@timin770 the fact that the definition includes most people doesn't mean it doesn't function to define greed, it just means that most people have greed. would you agree with my previous statement that most people want to live above the minimum? how is that not greedy if there are people who can't meet the minimum and you choose not to help them but instead choose your own personal luxury?
@bopbo785 Right oh!. Leaders build or participte in making Leaders by setting a good example by SHOWING UP!. Maybe Obama had a basketball or golf game to play. Does anyone know for sure?
@bopbo785 admit it the man cant win if he did go then fox and glenn beck would be cracking hitler youth conspiracies like there no tommorow and complain about why he decided to pass up an open forum to discuss issues important to a signifigant part of his voting base the ma is stuck between a rock and a hard place
