I'm certainly not saying people from the UK are more intelligent or anything like that but they just sound like they know what they're on about much more often. If they were true artists, in my opinion, they wouldn't judge music. Period. It's one thing to not like a particular sound in music but it's another to criticize and condemn it. I totally understand what they're saying. Those people who do wanky show off solos just for the sake of it are annoying. There are really good songs out there that are just 3 chords or whatever and are written by people who aren't classically trained or who don't spend every spare moment working on their technique.
